Are those FMF Power Core II Silencers?
Did they bolt right up? Because they look sweet!
Also do they have spark arresters? I really not a fan of the fatboys and they dont have arresters...
In the picture I took the exhaust was pressed all the way onto the jug yet the pipe still needed 3-4 inches of clearance before it would fit in the frame. The pipe will not fit in the frame at all with the ends being where they need to be. The label points towards the bottom of my front tire when the pipe hits the frame, also the flange on the exhaust points at about a 45 degree angle downwards. I dont see how these can be the right pipes.
I wouldnt worry about it. I took my R6 motor almost completely apart and put it back together with no loc-tite and its fine. That was this winter, ive put about 3k miles on it since then. As long as you torqued it to spec then I wouldnt worry about it.
I emailed the seller as well as opened a dispute with paypal/ebay. Waiting on a response. If anyone else has anything to share let me know. I have had several friends look at them and they do not fit.
Yea I was looking at the picture and I still cant figure it out.... Do the pipes somehow cross? Left header right silencer ect...
Its like these are for a dirtbike but it has yfz350 stamped right on the label....
Since I know some unhelpful asshole is gunna say "just read the directions off duncans site".... Here they are just to give you and idea of how useless they are.
1. Remove front and rear fenders, and fuel tank.
2. Remove stock pipes and silencers. Retain all bolts, head pipe springs and pipe/silencer joint rubber clamps.
3. Adjust protective spring on lower radiator hose. To do this, slide spring from stock position down hose away from radiator approximately 6
Won these online a month or so ago and they wont fit! No matter which way I try and put them they will noth match up right. The screw hole for the exhaust mount will not line up with the exhaust flange. Take a look at the pics, this is really pissing me off.....
Basically it seems like the middle portion of the pipe should be on the inside of the frame but theres no way thats gunna happen unless I take the motor out!
Thanks in advance for the help.
Just wanted to let everyone know bigboybanshee a.k.a Travis is a great guy. He sent me some jets for free as a favor. Please dont bug him for free stuff, but he is a great guy! Thanks again Travis.
I got it installed with the new bearings. Works great, thanks for all the help guys. Ill be throwing a grease fitting on there as well. Excellent suggestion. I dont know why they didnt design it that way to begin with.
Man I love RMATV with there cheap prices and fast shipping :-)
You dont need the smaller spacer. Ill take some pics and put them up tomorrow. I had a PITA time putting my axle on too.
P.S. Make sure you install new bearings when you do the new axle, just to save you time and headache later on.
Im going to be taking the lid off my airbox soon when I get my pipes hooked up. The problem I have is the lid holds the K&N down to keep it from poping out. Should I drill a couple holes in the box and use bolts/nuts to hold the airfilter on? (through the white plastic ring of course, not the filter its self)
I was thinking of getting different silencers. The fatboys are kinda ugly. I would also like silencers that have spark arrestors. Do the powercore 2's have them? My buddy rides at silver lake with them and doesnt have any probs.
