  1. It starts on the first kick everytime if the engine is warm. If its cold it takes awhile of kicking or emptying the carbs to start it.
  2. It shouldnt be to bad putting it back together. Were just gunna redo the whole quad.
  3. My name is Kevin I just turned 23 yesterday. I have an 04 shee and only rode once before I bought it new. Im a firefighter/emt from woodhaven michigan. Im also studying to become a paramedic. I love working on the quad and upgrading it almost as much as buying it. I also have an R6 sportbike. Ive done everything I can think of to a bike/quad except timming and jetting.
  4. Theres too much electronically that can go wrong with the raptors. A banshee is just about as simple as a performance motor can get. With a new front suspension kit it will do a WORLD of difference for handling. Someone on here can get 2+1 arms and elkas for around 600.
  5. A big bore brings up compression?
  6. This is the rebuild of my cousins blaster. One of his friend rode it this winter in 20 degree weather without rejetting it. Not to mention the blaster used to be owned me little farm boys that used shit oil in it. Bearing are good just needs a bore and piston. If your at 45lbs of compression your piston(s) prolly looks something like this.
  7. Tried all that except the compressed air cause I dont have a compressor. Im gunna hit it with some more carb cleaner tomorrow. Any chance the idle jet is playing a role in this?
  8. Heres the deal, the shee doesnt want to start very easily. I can kick it over and over 1/2 or full choke (yes the gas and switches are on) and it doesnt want to start. However if I shut the gas off, flip the shee up on the grab bar to drain the gas, push it bac kdown and turn the gas back on itll start in 2-3 kicks. What could be the problem? I think im gunna mess with the idle jet screw. It has new plugs in it and fresh gas..
  9. I just canceled my order and im gunna reorder the g-force tomorrow with the coupon
  10. ditch the automatic bleeding system and use a clear rubber hose.
  11. What size would I need for 30 degree temps? like a 300?
  12. My bro ordered me a g-force axle from rmatv and they are out of stock until may 4th. Should I cancel the order and get a durablue? I got a 20 dollar off coupon so itll only be 80 bucks more.
  13. Whats the difference between porting your cylinders and porting your cases? Ive heard of both. The piston goes into the lower case so how could you port the cylinder and not the lower case? If someone could explain it a to me a little better I would appreciate it.
  14. wow thats lazy. I think its almost as much fun to work on the quad as it is to ride it!
  15. I meant to say dura blue not lone star, sorry.
  16. My brother just ordered me a g-force axle for my birthday (tomorrow) from rockymountainatv. It seems like a great axle but the problem is they wont have any in stock until may 4th. I got a coupon in the mail from rockymountain for 20 dollars off a 150 or more dollar purchase. So I can go with the lonestar for 80 bucks more. Is it worth it for the upgrade for 80 bucks and to get it sooner?
  17. Alright thanks, a 260 was in it. Is there a good chance that it was way to lean in 20-30 degree temps? Where you at leota trail head this past weekend by chance? Your bike and you both look very familiar.
  18. Theres barely any preload at all, like just enough so the spring has some tension on it... I dunno what the prob is.
  19. They must of changed there price, but heres the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/iShock-i450...82418QQtcZphoto I paid 699 plus about 45 bucks shipping. Maybe they made a mistake in the price and I got lucky.
  20. Stock blaster other than K&N filter with snorkle removed and FMF fatty pipe. What size jet should be in it 60-80 degree temps? My cousin ran it in the winter and I think he blew it up.
  21. I think ill send out the crank when I get the porting done and have them weld it. Dont wanna throw a rod :-) Thanks for the advice. Anyone else have suggestions?
  22. Paul turner Midrange pipes are low-mid pipe. Yes the tors is gone. I plan on running engine ice when it gots a little hotter out.
  23. I listed that I plan on using PT mids. Thanks for the advice on the timming plate, I meant to add that as well. Any other suggestions? How much should I get the head milled? i hear about either .030 or .30 a lot, which is it?
  24. Right now the shees pretty much stock other than a K&N (plan on running open lid), tires, and front suspension kit. G-force axle on the way as well. Heres what Im thinking of doing for some more power. Let me know what you guys think please.... PT mids for sure (thinking of doing MX and love the low-end) .020-.040 bore (with R&B racing mx port. Wiseco pistons) shaved head (what amount should I go with? Want to run 94 oct gas) boysen reeds at 13-41 gearing, thinking of going to 15-41 after the mods.
