  1. Terribly sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.
  2. I cant believe there is not a shop locally that can sell you a set of base gaskets today. Just call around. There has to be somebody. If not, let me know. I have an extra set I can send you.
  3. Go for it. From your original post I got the impression that you were gonna be out duning it.
  4. Most guys I have seen riding in the dunes ride a 21-7. Thats not to say that is the only thing that works tho. I dont know how the sand is in michigan, but a 4" wide tire would be hard to ride in any of the dunes I've ridden. But if you always keep the weight transferred to the rear and stay on the throttle you should be able to rip on through LOL !
  5. Welcome. Always nice to add another to our support group.
  6. LOL !! It wont be too fast for long ! Before you know it, you'll be tryin to make it faster !! It is a sickness. But we're always glad to welcome another !
  7. Thats what I did. Alot of guys on here have had problems with the Ricky Stator products. If you leave it in there, at least bring the stocker with you when you go riding. You WILL need it someday !
  8. That sounds badass ! Where in AZ is that place ?
  9. I don't use it personally either, but I do know guys that do and they are happy with it. One of the biggest arguments against it is that it is meant to run at 10k plus altitude. I could not disagree more on that argument. The largest power demand on an airplane engine is on takeoff and, as we all know, that happens on the ground !!
  10. I'm gonna buy it !! It has an automatic transmission and I'm gettin lazy these daze.
  11. IMO. Don't buy the 4mil crank if you don't plan on porting the jugs. The port timings wont be correct fot the crank without porting and you wont gain anything from the change. Also, as Dave said, it is better to get domes that are cut for the 4mil (no spacer at the base). I run a 4mil crank on ported stock jugs. I feel like it was worth the money. I dont have the money for cubs. If I did I would have prolly spent it upgrading the suspension anyway and still built with the stock jugs. I am only .020 over now and still have room for a few more rebuilds. Porting the jugs may have been a waste of time and money if I was at +.040 or bigger on the bore because there isnt alot of rebuilds left in the cyinders. In that case I may have looked into that cub setup. And BTW, if you do go with the 4mil you have to buy pistons for the 4mil as well. They are 795 series from Wiseco.
  12. LOL !! Now thats some funny shit ! :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
  13. Did you re-jet after those changes ?
  14. I would go up one or two sizes on the main and do a plug chop.
  15. Should work if theyre the same stock carbs just without TORS
  16. What is the temp where you are. I would think that 160 main is a tad lean for that setup at around 60 deg. I'm running 160s in my 4mil with comparable compression on a ported stock cylinder 380cc. Mine is a lil rich at about 1100 feet and 60deg. The pilot is probably pretty close. If it is too lean the idle speed will be inconsistant (idle speed will rev up and down and will be very hard to control).
  17. Going from TORS to no TORS will not have an effect on your jetting. Unless you are changing the pipes or air filters you can just look and see what mains and pilots are in the current carbs and match them. Do a plug chop after the change to verify that the jetting is correct.
  18. The needle is the transition between 1/4 and WFO throttle. You can just set it where it feels best. If you want to be sure you can read the plugs for any throttle position you want. You just have to run it at the same throttle position the whole time. Check this out click here
  19. Did you just make these mods , or are you just tuning a setup that was already running ?
  20. What do you mean by "an a-arm conversion kit" ??
  21. Call Jeff at FAST. Order the angled K&N pods. I run CPI pipes with 35mm carbs and the angled pods dont touch the stingers. The straight pods did.
  22. Sears. Craftsman makes a nice compression tester that is reliable.
  23. It will absolutely change the volume. More than one or two C.Cs Think about it - - on a 4mil you have to cut at least .080 out of the squish area. That will change the flow and flame patterns as well as the compression. I know people have done this quite a bit, but I would recommend having new ones made. Call NOSS machine.
  24. Do you have any pics ? I may be interested in the MSR levers.
