listen to what dajogejr says... it seems like a heck of a lot of work but HE KNOWS HIS SHIT!!! he won't steer you wrong.
to adjust the actual chain there are 2 bolts through the carrier you have to loosen those up so the carrier will move, then you have two little bolts on the back side of your carrier you loosen the lock nuts and tighten the bolts to tighten the chain (that is if you have a stock carrier)
