  1. painting plastic has many more steps involved then painting say fibeglass. you have to add flex agents so help the paint not crack. on top of that your best off cutting the plastics to get rid of any extra flexing. talk with theshee he and his brother paint alot of plastic on here. they painted mine
  2. I heard about the snow. I didnt head out until the evening so most of it melted that the road was reopened by the time we went through. Did you camp at gecko? I'm assuming thats the big ditch that you drive over just before gecko coming to the dunes?
  3. there is a member on here that makes or made some at one point. i can not remember his name. It's not chase for those that where going to say him, he makes stickers but not graphics kits.
  4. i remember someone talking about them many many months ago btu i dont not recall the endstate if it was a pos or not, might try searching the name and see what you comeup with
  5. for stock gearing and a +6 your looking at around 124 links. regardless what size sproket you get make sure you get steel as mentioned above.
  6. yea we were talking about you been near by. we weren't sure where you where at. i thought i saw you riding when we had my bike loaded up too but wasnt sure
  7. thats a good price.
  8. yea that sucked. we had alot of guys with us too. but we ended up not making it. we spent the whole day recovering bikes. Mine broke took forever to get it back. on the way back Casper's broke, took forever to get him back. i dont think we even got to ride the first day. we mostly hungout and just had fun at camp
  9. i had 130 links and i think i cut out 6. so your right on the money for 124.
  10. we dont know. its like th nut didnt get put on right and backed off the flywheel. it took everything with it. but whats crazy is he has irdden the bike several trips now and nothing was wrong. im trying to get my bike apart right now but i cant get the clutch cover to come off. its locked on somethig by the water pump. so im going to have to get creative.
  11. you can always buy some fabrice and take it to a upholster shop and have them make you a new cover and install it. i got mine made and installed for 45 bucks
  12. Welp guys didnt make the meeting on saturday. My tranny is fuked up. first ride out and something broke. so i have to take it apart to see what happned. All in all we had a good time but there was ALOT of broken shit this weekend. My tranny broke, Caspers Stator /flywheel/timing plate got eatting to shit A guy in our camps buggy folded a rim but it was still a good time.
  13. as long as you get lines that are made for gas you should be ok. i think they are made from polyurethane but i could be wrong... the cheap shit gets hard and cracks. a good line is line 2 bucks a foot or so. edit: oh its actually plasticized PVC, not polyurethane. just looked at the MP site http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/tools/...r_pvc_fuel_line
  14. i like to keep a little exta in my bag, i had a very bad experiance when my fuel line touched my pipes 6 miles in the middle of the dunes.... thats was a hard fix way out there...
  15. your porting will not effect your rings. that is assuming that the edges of the ports have no imperfections that cause damage. as long as the rings and the cylidner are within tolerances and not ovaled the porting will not do anythng to the rings.
  16. i want to say its 3/8 but im not for sure if thats right even thoug i just bought some... jut buy a few feet of the motion pro fuel line,
  17. allpacked up, just waiting on the warden to get off work and get her shit ready and we are heading out... i just hope the 8 doesnt get a freak ice storm again that closes it down until im past it
  18. Well thats the problem justin your camping in BFE.... i dont know why anyone thats ride anything beside a buggy , rail, or truck park at gecko. all the good dune are closer to the washes, minus the bowls near comp
  19. you fried your plates it sounds like. you can run any plate as long as they fit the basket, nothing speical. edit: or if it has an adjster like the banshee does try adjusting it there first. im not sure how the 250r clutch work, never worked on one b4
  20. i downloaded the map editer today to try and make a nice custom map but holy hell that thing is anything but user friendly!
  21. remove the metal bushing in the center and then use a bolt or screw driver and punch them out.
  22. for power go with porting hands down, but keep inmind your suspension is in a dire need of some TLC. unfortunatly your not going to get much of a suspension for 500 bones
  23. you can learn how to wok on car and what not fairly ez now days with the net, i would say go to the metal fab class. thats nto somthing you can just read about and do, that hands on practice makes perfect. i was in auto shop in school and yea it was cool and i had a good time but i wish we had a fabricating classes. not like the regular metal tech but a automotive fab class. learning to do body work and paint and all that. thats where theres alot of money and talent. but as said a career in this industry isnt always the best. although as long as your happy doing what you do, thats all that should really matter in the end. i would much rather not make a furtune but love what i do rather then being loaded but despise going to work every day
  24. Minkia (Ray) is around some, BenBB is still around, Rz Still around, everyone else is mia
