I thought the question was would it be cheaper to do one than the other not does trinity suck.I would say that if you allready have the cylinders have them resleeved but if you want more power go with a cub but resleeving will run you about 250-300 and a cub is about 875.I cannot comment on trinitys porting to much i raced one the other day with a bigbore and stage4 porting not sure how big the bore was but I stomped all over him with a 65mm bore on a stk stroke on that set of cylinders that most people said they wouldnt run, turned out they ran very well.On the other hand I run trinity pipes and im very happy with them they seem to respond well with every thing else that i do to the bike.

Alot of this depends on what size tire your running what terrain ur ridding on and what mods you have.I ran 15/41 with 20'' tires on dirt and liked it pretty well.I switched to 18'' tires and got porting and now i run thourgh the gears so fast its redicoulis.Ive got a 16 that im going to try and im going to order a 17 because the mods just keep piling up everyday and the gears just keep getting shorter and shorter.
-
It depends but I would say a 340 -360 would get you in a safe range and work from there.
-
I agree.

I like my trinity pipes, but alot of people run t5 and t6s and they both are loudand run real strong.I dont know how long your planning on staying stk but the Ive seen some cpis and they run like a mother to but im not sure how they would be on a stock motor but the only guy running with me today had cpis.
-
I forgot to mention my compression is 180psi and im running 111octane.My tires are brand new and it pulls like a mofo but i run thourgh the gears pretty quickly. What do you think about the carbs?
-
Cub cylinders will run you 875$ and if you want to go fast it will. That 404 kit wont stand a chance in hell against a set of cubs, but remember the cubs will be thirsty co some new cabs will be in the future and a noss head will bring ur compression up and help that lowend but you will want all these things anyway cub or not.How much is that kit like $300 i didnt really look but you can figure whatever it cost plus about $150 per cylinder for resleeving and atleast another 300 for a port job and you would still be hardpressed to beat a cub running on stk carbs.

Well i went out to the local dragstrip today and had some pretty good luck.I beat 2craptors 1 450r 2 400zs 2 400 ex and 1 was a 440 2 banshees and sevral oyher 4strokes that were just so slow i dint metion.Oh yea 1 of the craptors was a 700 and 1 was atricked out 660.I am pretty new to drag racing and 1 of the banshees beat me twice and i beat him once.I have some questions about my setup.Im running trinity pipes my porting is 190 on the exaust im not sure abou the rest of the measurements but the transfers are really hogged out.Im running stk carbs and i think there holding me back and stk reeds. But my gearing is killing me im running 15,41 and starting in 2nd im going to a 16 on the front do yall think ill need to go any higher than that. What type and size carbs would yall recomend im thinking 34pjs.Im also running 18inch holeshotmxr6s.Im racing in 300ft pretty hard packed dirt. The guy that beat me was running cpi pipes 35mmpwks and he claimed the cylinders were stk,but he was streched and pulling 17/38 gears with 20 inch tires. That just seams like some pretty tall gears and carbs for a piped shee.

Depends on what type of fuel you want to run.For 93 octane and below stay below 150 psi use the chart to determine.
-
Just look at your plugs to determine jetting.I didnt mess with mine untill i got pipes.Get you some pipes"any are better than stk" shave the head or get a noss and some k&n pods and pop some 330 or 340 mains in it and youll see a big diffrence.Im not sure what the elevation is in deluth but im in athens and with what i just listed i ran a 340 and 27.5 4th clip on the needle 2 turns out on the airscrew and was eating 450rs up that was wiyh a noss head 180psi and trinity pipes.

I would not do that. Its proably just the topend assuming you have already checked all the little things and its getting fire. For what youll pay for that kit and having the sleeves bored out of your cylinders and have those put in youll be done spent allmost enough to have bought a cub.The cheapest way will be to just have your stock cylinders bored as little as possible"you dont gain very much if any power by boring and get you a good set of pistons.Remeber im assuming that your topend is gone so you need to make sure that its not somthing else.If you want big gains go with the cub but theres many things that you need to make it work to its potentill like carbs and reeds the list goes on and on and you have to consider what you want to do with it.You could have your cylinders ported and have a fast but more usable spread of power or I even seen a set of trinity stage4 cylinders forsale in the classifieds here. That would proably be your quickest option.Although I seen your in ga which i am too I have all my machine work done at bridges cycle in washington. hes fast and reasonable on prices and knows what hes doing, usually if I have my pistons he will bore it the same day i take it.Just pull the plugs out of it and do a compression test to see where your at.Let me know if theres anything else i can help you with.Im sorry i thought i seen you were in ga just checked it must have been somebody else .

You need to find out the elevation unless its really high you will most likely need race fuel with 18s.Im running 18s at 900ft and im rite around 180 psi.I run 111 octane. If you run this high of compression you will see big gains in lowrange with instant thortle response.
-
If you didnt add pipes or anything the jetting should stay about the same.I like 15/41 gears you just have to play with it to see what you like.I found even when completely stk the shee can pull 15/41.Ive never tried to clean brake pads.
-
It could be a fewthings. Will the motor turn or is it lokcked up.
-
What size domes are you going to run.And whats your elevation.
-
They work fine. Many modern 2 strokes use orings for head gaskets. The noss head is one of the best mods you can do.

Normaly I would agree, but the guy that inspected them with me is well known in my area for building very strong motors. He has done all my machine work since i started riding anything"about 20 years" he does porting and all machine work in house and I take his opinion very strongly and trust him when he says this will work or this wont work i trust him.We both inspected the spot and the rest of the cylinders very closely and decided they were done correctly excecpt they should have been welded instead of epoxyed but he and i beleavied by looking at the job that they would hold up and cause no threat to the engine. If we thought they would have caused a problem we never would have went to the trouble of boring them or anything else.I guess what im saying is I didnt go into this toatly blind.

I canceled the chargeback. This is how it came about.I went to a shop where theres a guy I know that has a boring bar and he happend yo have a set of trinity stage 4 cylinders sitting ther so we began comparing and measuring the two.The intake was a little different but my porting looked just as good everywhere but the spot of jbweld. My exsaust was 28mm from the top of the bore which i think puts me around 190.and the transfers where way bigger on mine. So he said lets bore them out to mainly clean up the taper and see what they will do.So we got them bored up and aset of pistons matched to each cylinder and I put it together last night and started breakin it in Ive got my ratio at 24;1 still but now were getting to the fun part ohyea im pulling 182psi from both cylinders. As soon as i got on I noticed somthing felt different put im just putting fot the breakin getting a little faster every time and checking plugs repeatly but suprisingly the jetting looks spot on.To day i opewnd her up and omfg this thing pulls of the bottom just like it did before and then comes the mid:hold the fuck on: and im on a dirt road getting little traction and all it wants to do from mid to top in every gear is come around,so despite my new tires i got on a short strech of pavment and it power wheelies in forth I know but any further Im not sure because I ran out of pavment"turns into dirt".Its as big of a diffreance as going from stk to pipes and a noss headall of which i allready have.It runs so good im actully thinking about leaving it alone for the first time since i got the thing, but me being me I noticed even though the jetting seems to be rite it seems to be screaming give me some more.So what do yall think 34pjs or what maybe some vforce or just leave it alone.give me some opinions on carbs and what to do next. The guy that had them before was running pjs 145 main and i dont remember the pilots, but he said before he took em off he was running alky so im not sure what to do.
-
Ok whats your compression?Ilike 32;1 but 40;1 is ok.Check your plugs to see if ur runningrich or lean light is lean and dark is rich. 105 or so
-
Atleast have it welded and put some max load bearings on it.
-
Ill try your kit.I have a set of completely stock cylinders sitting here now.Ive been doing alot of research on porting lately and and can do anything else so I might as well learn this.I already have all the proper tools air die grinders angle and pencil types and I have diomand and carbide bits.I have all this because I sculpt granite for a living and have been doing it for about 15 years.Maybe some of these skills can be carried over to portinng maybe not.Ill post pics of all the tools and bits ill be using step by step through the process from begining to end.

I normaly just get that big carb cleaner can with the tray, take the bowls off and soak them a little while and put them back on.I usally do it every time i have a reason to take them off and it seems to keep them pretty clean,

You can proably mill the stoker and get 150psi since your in miami,But I would recomend the noss head it provides better cooling more versitilty and you could go with 20cc domes and proably get by with 100 octane.
