Hey sorry my computer has been down the last couple days. I have been looking at ROcky Mountain and it does seem like they are pretty good priced. As for the 10 paddle ones mentioned earlier, would I have enohg power? I have been looking at the gecko plus, that havce 10 paddles.

Hey how much better are the aluminum .125 wheels than a steel wheel? It is about $40 cheaper to get brand new ones on steel, and I will proabbly only use it 1 or 2 times this year. I am wondering if it is worth it to get the al.

Well I really wnat a set of paddles by next weekend. SO if anybody has a set they want to sell let me know. Also what is the best deal out there for a tire/rim combo? I am looking for a cheap set as I am on a budget now. THe bike has T-5's. Let me know what to buy or what you have? Thanks

It must have a 2-1 carb setup. Stock they use two carbs, but some people like using what you have. It is an aftermakert mod. For now, just get it running by adjusting the carb like people here have said. Does it run good lots of power, just won't idle? Can you give it a little throttle and keep it runnign at the same speed? If so you need to find the idle screw and tunr it in, just like people here have said.

What size are those rims? Are they for the large or small hubs?

Make an offer. With everybody always talking about how much of a waste a bottle is, and how it should be removed, I am surprised no one has snapped these up yet.

Here is a boost bottle block off set. These are made of Nylon, and fit very snug in the boots, but pop right in. You really dont even need a clamp, but it is good practice to use anyway. Get rid of that bottle and properly tune your machine. These are a serious tuner item. They weigh next to nothing. $20.00 shipped, paypal accepted.

You can get a small rubber Expando plug. That should work fine.

Whats the trick to tighten inner clutch housing?
fastcar01 replied to herbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I think I read it here, use a penny in the gears. It is soft enough that it will give before the gears, but you will torue it to spec before that point. I think last time I did it I shoved a rag in the gears. You can just hold the brake and put it in gear, but that it easier with two people. -
Regarding using old plugs. While I have personally never been a fan of it, unless no other option is available. The best way to clean them is with a torch. Just clamp it in a vise and heat the end of it till it is glowing red. They will work again, but don;t even seem to be as good as a new one. Sandpaper doesn;t work good.

I have a 1996 Banshee for sale. Bike has T-5's with Toomey perfect Jet kit. Toomey 2-1 air filter, new clutch, new clutch cable. Bike runs awesome, in good shape. Bike is nice. It is dirty right now but I can send pics. I need to get it to the wash, but been busy. I need to sell this thing fast, snowmobile season is almost here and I have things to buy. Asking $2200 OBO, talk to me. Would consider a trade for AC Tripple big bore, 1107 or bigger. Located in MI, just south of Detroit.

Enter me please!

Yeah I went through this on my old dirtbike, killed the bolt getting it out. Then (I assume the Banshee is similar) it is a ground to size, metric bolt, whcih for my RM125 was $45.00. Luckily I was able to have a buddy in the machine shop make one.

REMEMBER - HOLD THE RIGHT OF THE TRAIL

We parked at SOuth Branch, rode to Mckinly and were on our way back. CLose tot eh campground. -
Well last weekend we were riding back to the truck and I was moving ok, 20 or so I guess, it was around a turn. I was hugging the right, as I usually do, and as soon as I came around the bend there was a full size dune buggy coming at me. He was right there and we hit. I went over the handle bars, and landed about 15-20 foot past my machine, which was turned and thrown up the bank a bit. I didn't really get knocked out, but a little dazed. My legs got it good when they hit the handlebars, and my wrist is still sore, plus my waist is sore. It could have been allot worse for sure, I got real lucky. The banshee has bent handlebars and a broken clutch lever. Now the dune buggy, that is another story! It snapped the A-arms, put the tire on the body, busted the body up, bent steering rods, it really messed it up! THe driver said he hurt his toe that was it. Best I can figure is his tire hit my bumper. The frame doesn;t appear tweaked at all. I don;t think it hurt it at all, aside from the bars/lever. SO just be careful out there, especiially around turns.

WHat you can do, but it will be a little tricky, is to take a cheap socket and put it on the nut, then use a stick welded (or tig) and weld the sockt to the nut, then bat it off. WOrks easier with a bolt, but I am sur you could do a nut also. Eiterh way, weld somthing to it.
-
It would be best to change them, but I have done what you say and the motor latsed a while.
-
You will have to take the grill off, so you can refill it when you are done. Now I have been havign the saem problem with my clutch not disengaging. When you adjust it, rather than lining up the arrows, tighthen the screw till you feel it get tight, then back it off a little. You will get better pull that way. I think my problme is my basket is grooved up, but doing hwta i said seems to have taken care of it.

oil dipstick cracked off...now what?
fastcar01 replied to BIG_BLUE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Dave, I don;t think it is necessary. I'll be honest, I had to do what I described for this same case, and it worked great. Figure you are melting the plastic outside of the case and you let it dry again, so unless you crack the plastic, no reason to go through the trouble of taking off that cover. I say try just what I said, then what is the worst case, it doesn;t work, then you take the cover off. Start easy and only make it as hard as it needs to be! -

Get a large flathead screwdriver. Use a torch to heat it really hot, then while it is still hot, push it into the plastic. Let it cool/dry and you can probably twist it right out. -
The grill shoudl cover that, run it! If it does leak, just solder it. You alwasy could just bend those fins off, but temp gage is nice when you start doing things like that.
