Well I put in a new clutch, and cable. I adjusted it like your supposed to with the arrows. The problem is the adjuster on the perch needs to be almost all the way out to dis-engage the clutch. I put on an easy pull lever and now with the adjuter all the way out it still creeps when you goose it. Could i have started to weld my ball or whatever happens in there? WHat is the fix for this? Thanks

Well like I said, the motor runs great with the slides backward, but barely runs correctly. Carbs are frshly rebuilt, tuned properly. I am not an ametuer at this stuff, so I am sure of my work there. All I can figure is an air leak? WIth them backwards it makes up for it? I heard it is supposed to run rich backwards, does that make sense? It runs awesome backwards thouhg, really good. Is tehre something else it could be?

I seriously doubt there is any noticable difference due to wind, unless you are doing a speed run. But all the mud and dirt all over you probably kills the dynamics

MSR HELMET with goggles and Quick Straps
fastcar01 replied to REV-I-DOO's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Hey I might be interested. Not to sound silly, but how big is your head? I usually wear an XL, but I believ my sled helmet is a L. Is there a way to size this? Maybee just measure the circumfrence of your head at the largest part, and then around the top and under the chin. I am serious. Thanks -
I am trying to figure out what inclines people to cut off their fenders. I was riding my buddies Warrier today that has the fenders cut off (he bought it that way) and I got completly muddy, and it wasn't even that muddy out. I mean, I guess you could agrue it looks better, although that is personal preference. I guess I just can't figure out why so many people do this, especially if you ride it on anything except dry concrete.

I have a 2000 T-cat set up for ice racing now, with a 992 in it. Has chisled speed track, and slammed suspension. I would probably trade straight up. Or I have a 96 T-cat currently stock with Jaws pipes and pods, I might put some cash also.

I am putting T5's on my bike and I have not messed with it a ton yet, but they did not seem to want to go on. Do I need to disconnect the fender mount bar? Or do I just slip them in there? Toomeys web site makes it sound like you just turn the wheel and they slip right in. I was pretty hung over when I tried, so I got fed up real fast. I am doing it tonight, and just wonderin if there is a trick or tip to install them. Thanks

Yeah, shove a rag in the intake port, and grease the bit, that will help shavings stick to it. That may be hard with the engine in there. A right angle drill would help.

ENTIRE PART OUT 01' shee
fastcar01 replied to [email protected]'s topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Do you want to sell just the rad. cover?, How much shipped? -
Once you check the carbs, start it and spray some WD40 or Carb cleaner around the carb boots/reed cages. If the idle goes down you have a leak there.

I have the serial # I copied it off the bike. DId the police charge you or did you make an appointment?

I am thinking of picking up another Banshee, but there is no title for it. I don;t really suspect anything, but I don;t know the guy, so you never know. How do I have the VIN ran to make sure it is clean? Thanks
-
Just hope you don;t have to back up. Nerfs make it a PITA to back up.

Thanks!

I just picked up a set of used SParky Arrestors, btu teh markings on them say Skyway-Cobra Model 300. Are these the ones Toomey Sells? Thanks

I'm with everyone else. I wouldnt; put no money on it if I were you!

Mine is screwed up also, but it was also messed up when I got it. My new dipstick is a bitch to get in, you have to play with it. Try breaking off the stick and going form the inside out, that is what I had to do. To twist it through, just heat up a screwdriver and push it in the bottom of the cap (where the dipstick used to be) and pull it through.
-
Yeah, I would not run without those. And yes, double check that clutch adjustment, you sure it is all the way in, or is it just snugged against the springs?
-
Did you look to make sure the plugs are not fouled? Did you see a spark or just check the wire for spark? I assume the TORS is unhooked? The plug is not hooked up?
-
I don't even think you need to get a special one, you can get the stock one form the dealer for under 1.00 and it will fix it. The original one just wears out. I am sure you could use a generic one also.

Maybee I am missing someting here, but mine rattled really bad, really bad. Where the kickstart rotates there is an o-ring there. Just replace that. I think it was like 62 cents. I chanegd mine and it is perfect now. There is an O-ring here that wears out, change that.

Yeah were all set

I will have to check out the planetsand. Honestly I am not super into ATV's, sleds are my passion. I used to ride bikes, but hurt myself last year and said thats enough, so I switched to four wheels (call me a pussy, I don't care). When I got the Banshee, I found this site and didn't really look for more places. Like I said before a 2-stroke is a 2-stroke. I have a sled site that gets pretty technical. I just like to have a toy to play with during the summer. Either way, like I said before I am new to Bashee's so this site is good for me. But I do get pissed when someone cops an attitude about me, without knowing me, that was my point. Either way, I'm done ranting. I will check out that other site as well, thanks for the info.

You go you keyboard cowboy! Simple fact is you were trying to brag about how good your motor runs, but the fact is it is not tuned right. Now your right, there really isn't much wrong with running a motor on the rich side, if you are a non-competetive person, who is content following the leader, and you have extra money to waste. Now how do I go about earning an attitude around here? Make allot of posts? I have not went through all yours, but if they are all like the one we are discussing, then I don't think it is worth my time. 2003LimitedBanshee has the right attitude. Maybee this site should look at setting up a thread for advanced tuners/racers. That way people like you can live in lala land and people who want to learn has aplace to do it, without being met with arguing.
-
As far as a new guy, yeah new to Banshee's, not new to 2-strokes. A 2-stroke is a 2-stroke, sleds, atv's, bikes, ski's. I never said I was a pro, but I ain't stupd either, I know my shit. Either way, take some corrective critisim and learn from it. The reason I come to this site is to learn. It is hard to do so when people cop an attitude. There are lots of things I learned from here that I did not know.
