  1. People really use aluminum sprockets on dirt bikes because they have a huge rear sprocket. Aluminum vs Steel on an atv sprocket isnt going to save enough weight to make it worth buying.
  2. Yea the toomey T5's are a great all around pipe. I would rather have a harder hit later in the rpm range than a smooth low end pipe, but that is just personal preferance.
  3. Wiseco pistons come with new pins and clips but no berrings. I believe majic racing throws in the berrings when you get one of there kits.
  4. Toomey's have great craftsman ship, and hit harder but it is going to be later hit than DMC's. Your not going to get a hard hit on a bottom to midrange pipe. They are going to be a smooth pull. Part of the reason why toomey t5's, cpi's, or shearer's have a hard hit is because of the lack of bottom end.
  5. Yea get a cool head from noss machine. He has domes that are made for the 4 mill stroker crank. Is the crank a long rod or stock length conecting rod? If it is a long rod crank you will need 795 series pistons too.
  6. Talk about sitting on your nuts
  7. What dont you like about the DMC 916's. My engine builder recomends them for his hot trail motor. Good all around pipe. For bottom end MX port he recomneds Paul Turner Mids. Dune port is Toomey T5's mid to top end pipe.
  8. I like the cascade one too because it has 2 flat sides out on the end so you can adjust the clutch like normal. VS the one that have the flat spot behine the pressure plate where you have to adjust the clutch and take it all appart so you can tighten down the adjuster.
  9. No you shouldnt have to rejet.
  10. www.bluetraxx.com Lot of info on the 660's www.raptorforum.com
  11. Save some cash and get a nology coil. Then you can run regular spark plug wires.
  12. Why not just order the stinger tubes from toomey? That way you will have a set of silencers to sell with the FMF pipes, instead of doing a hack job.
  13. If your paying 85 bucks for 5 gallons your taking it in the shorts. I get 55 gallon drum filled for 300.
  14. It has a fuel line for each carb insead of the stock 1 hose that goes in to a T Pass More Gas.
  15. For an Intake I would get a boss racing intake or white knuckle. I dont know if you need it to clear the clutch arm like you do with PWK33's (or larger) or PJ's. The main advantage is that it has a built in crossover inbetween carbs so you dont have an external tube or boost bottle. You can also replace the rubber flanges and they cost 10-15 bucks so they are not to terribly expensive. White Knuckle Racing LINK The make a intake for 28-30mm carbs. Here is my 33's with a boss intake
  16. Shoot the Pipes and stinger tubes in High Temp and do the silencers in what ever color you like. I have my raptor's exhaust can done in black. Clean the inside out really good and shoot some high temp powder down the thoat of the pipe. That will help insulate the pipe from the hot exhaust gas so the pipe doesnt get as hot. That is a trick used with chrome to keep it from blueing.
  17. I would check the squish befoer you mill the head. That way you know how much can be taken off before your head is milled down to much and the pistons hit the head. Squish is a good number to know on your engine.
  18. I guess it doesnt have to seal anything. Just take up the slop between case halfs.
  19. I doubt he will seperate it. The stock tank has 2 holes for the 2 tubes. The long normal tube and the short reserve tube. You have to take a knife and make this one big opean hole to fit the pingel's screen. So somebody would have to put a pingel back on his tank to use it. You would be better off buying his tank and selling your non cut up one. He might sell but if he dont that is probably why. josh
  20. It doesnt matter witch way you go. Solder is cheap, so you could take a measuer ment on each side of each cylinder. You just want the solder to touch the cylinder wall on the sides (left or right not front and back) as if you were sitting on the seat. The reason why you dont want to do the test on the intake or exhaust side of the cylinder is the solder might not get squished all the way since the piston can rock a tinny amout front to back. Your conecting rods would have to be egged out to get the piston to rock from side to side.
  21. Cheap greas guns suck. As for the needle. By the needle then get a grease zerk that will screw in to the needle. That way you can just snap the needle in to the flexable hose and not have to take the tip off the hose.
  22. It doesnt matter on the flux. The stuff I use has it in there. You only really need probably around a 2 in piece. you want to go straight over to the side of the cylinder (left and right like you said) and have it be up against the head when you roll the motor over. It would suck to get it in the transfer port and then when you roll the motor over you cut a pice off and have it fall down in the motor. I believe most people shoot for .040 inch. Mine is at .035 kind of on the tight side but I dont have any problems with it. josh Ps you can also measuer the flattend solder in different places to see how well the shape of the combustion chamber is contured to the shape of the piston head.
  23. Get some solder. Take the spark plugs out. Bend the pice of solder in the shape of an L. Fish the solder down in to the spark plug hole so the one end goes over to the edge of the cylinder. Roll the motor over with the kick starter by hand. Bring the pice of solder back out and measure the thickness of the smashed pice with a calipar. That is how you check the squish. Squish is the measurement of the clearance between the top of the piston and head. You want the solder to be parallel with the wrist pin so the piston doesnt rock back and fourth when smashing the solder. josh
  24. I was just saying you can get the Hush kit from alba, they are a toomey retailer. I would get the dual sparkies too if you just need a spark arrestor only and not quieter pipes. josh
  25. What is like a back fire pop or a metal on metal bang? If it sounded like a back fire check the reeds you might have broken one. That will cause the shee to run on one side and rev up. Put your hand completly over the exhaust does it suck your hand to the pipe like a vaccuum cleaner?
