OK. So earlier this summer when I put a new clutch in, I also instaled a TM Designworks Magnetic oil drain plug. My concern came when I changed my fluid for the first time, man that magnet works! The thing was all furry with metal. Question is; is that good or bad? I mean its good that the magnet kept the stuff from running through my trans and clutch. But is it bad that there is stuff for it to catch? I put the new clutch in at the same time so I don't know if this is normal clutch brake in or something wrong. I've changed the oil a couple times since, and there was still fur on the mag, though not as much. And the bottom of my oil catch pan looks a little sparkely, is this unusual? btw - I use Bel Ray SAE 80w Clutchsaver

JMaN05, I truely feel sorry about your luck. Get well soon. Let us not foget that shit can happen really quick on these things. So give him a brake please. Did he make a poor decision? Yes. Did he pay the price? Hell yes. * It should be understood that we all ride at our own risk.

I'd bid on it, but I'd probably just get blown off ...like I did with the pegs. -
over charged for single carb from trinity?
KlotzBanshee replied to Hollister_Hitman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I like alot of Trinity's products. But they are soooo over priced. They claim to charge more to cover the cost of higher grade materials. But daaaaamn!! -
Man I would love to go but I don't think it's gonna happen. I was just there two weeks ago, plus the banshee is looking at some down time real soon. Shee needs a new top end, maybe some porting, maybe a new head. My pockets aren't quite large enough, if ya know what I mean. :yucky:

Here's a funny one. I use... FOAM FILTER CLEANER... I Know, it sounds crazzzy. I works great, and cost me like 4 bucks. I Usually use PJ1. BTW - Do your motor a favor and ditch the stock filter. K&N or UNI

If that's OTD taxes and everything...then that's a damn good deal for a "new" 05. Get them to throw in some gear too and buy it.

Clutch adjustment out of whack?
KlotzBanshee replied to herbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You guys have some history or what? This shit came staight out of left feild. :baseball_bat: dajogejr, we all know you like to type  But, you do give some good advise and are able to explain it in terms a nubee would understand. I think endofitall9 takes that as you are talking to us like we're idiots, I disagree but can see his pov. Fact is, some people need shit explained to them. And those of us who don't shouldn't get pissed about it, take it with a grain of salt. OR...get pissed and cause some internet drama...for us to read :baseball_w00t: kinda cuts the mundane. :baseball_whistle: he is right most of the time. don't be mad he beats you to it -
needs some help w my pro taper med atv handlebars
KlotzBanshee replied to peterlocal22's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I've got the Pro Taper SE ATV Mid bars and got them to fit fine with the stock key set up. You just have to move the bars so that the cross bar pad fits just between the key and the vent hose, which if you look at the bike from a profile view the bars should be at the same angle as continuing up the steering stem. If that make any sense. Moving/Removing the key presents a whole new pain in the ass imo. I just wanted new bars. good luck! -
Nope, signs are still there. I blew by them at about 60 or so. I think its 25 though. But if no ones around, who's counting? Besides, I remember when that is where the drag track used to be, before it started collecting water all the time and they moved it away from Lake Michigan between the two hills perpendicular to the old track. leave it to the squares to put a speed limit on the staightest, flatest, wide open stretch. Now, the directional traffic signs (no U turns) I do fallow. And I'd like to bitch slap the assholes who like to high mark on test hill and cut off other people running up behind them! and don't even look! DF's! Nothin like hitting rutts at the top of the hill, especially ones made from trucks. Look at me! I'm in a big POS truck, I like to drive against traffic and come over hills on the wrong side of the road. :shoothead: :shoothead: :shoothead: Fun stuff

It's generally a good idea to do away with the TORS, they act up and make carb adjustments more cumbersome. There are some guys that think you're less safe without it, but most of us have removed it with no inherent problems. The twist throttle is a preference, love it or hate it. I've had one on mine for years and like it, but it's not for everybody, it takes some getting used to at first and it scares the shit out of some guys just because it's more touchy/jumpy. But...you don't get anymore sore thumbs, and most people won't ask you to ride it once they know you have a twist throttle on it. :thumb:

I just got back yesterday from an unbelievable trip to the Silverlake Sand Dunes and everything went perfect, shee ran good, had a great time, only had a few close calls... :baseball_bat: Anyway, even though my bitch was faster than any of the guys I was riding with I could not hold 6th gear. There's only a couple of spots out there you can even go that fast. But down by Lake Michigan there is a flat strech about maybe a mile long that stays wet most of the time so you can really hook up. I went through 1st - 5th screamin' but when I grab 6th shee would just bog and couldn't get the R's up to get into the power band, so I had to lay off. So what do ya think? Jetting? Gearing? Operator error? Or just lack of ponies in the sand? Other than that the trip was freekin' awsome. I seen so much sh!t I could write a damn book telling you guys about it. Wish I had a video camera.

This is what I use. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/apparel/...937/detail.aspx I works well for protectant and rust prevention, but like everything else, dirt sticks to it a little. I just wipe it down with a clean rag after it sits for a few. Its like putting a wax job on everything, and its safe on everything. info

I just ordered one from RIS Design. Its looks sick in the pic, can't wait to get it. They have a few diff styles on the site, but the guy on the phone said they have a bunch that they don't have pics of yet. I guess they're redoing their web site or something? $75 not too bad RIS Design

is your swingarm stock (or stock length)? count the pins on your new chain. For a banshee w/ stock gearing 14/41 and stock rear end you should have no less than 104 links. If you want to run a 15 tooth counter sprocket, then you'll probably need one or two more links. So you should end up with between 105 - 107 I'm guessing. If you have less than 104...good luck finding someone with a -2 swinger to buy it off you. Are you loosening the chain adjustment? Are you putting the chain on before put in the master link? Remember you also need 20 - 28mm of slack, and maintain proper alignment. good luck and god speed :thumb:

I use Mothers Incredible Billit. It's expensive, (like $13 a can) but the stuff shines like no other. -
Powerball...the polishing tool - not the lottery
KlotzBanshee replied to jkross's topic in Banshee Appearance
got one. works great on wheels and other large areas, still have to get the nooks and cranys by hand though. Def cuts down on time. Worth the 24 bucks imo. - its only foam, so doing pegs you might loose some. Watch the sharp edges and you'll be ok. -
How many of you run race fuel?
KlotzBanshee replied to uvbensmoked's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'm running Turbo Blue 110 from a Sunoco in Flint for $5.20/gal. On a side note - I've been curious about Klotz racing fuel for a while now, I hear that VP and Klotz have the best quality racing fuel. However, there isn't anyone who carries it around here that I know of, and if you order it factory direct you have to pay a hefty haz-mat handling fee. Well, the other day I found some at a Suzuki dealer that I don't usually go to and they wanted $91.00 plus tax for 5 gal of Klotz 113!!!! :baseball_bat: Holly Shit! I said to an approaching salesman who immediatly got all defensive and started treating me like I didn't know shit trying to justify nearly $20/gal for the stuff. He's like "what do ya think it costs us?" and I said "not 91 bucks!" Then he starts giving me shit like "the only way he can give it to me cheaper it to buy it black market and then you don't know what you're getting"....I'm thinking what a F'n tool. I didn't tell him that I've already called Klotz and inquired about buying from them. Which they said the same 5 gal drum was like $37 plus a $30 H/M fee charged by UPS/FedEx. So $67 to get it TO MY HOUSE...AND...If I bought more than 30 gal they would absorb the H/M fee. I also Know the owner of the dealer he works for (but didn't rat him out), So EAT SHIT "Kevin" D.F.!! He just rolled his eyes at me when I said "That's why I buy Turbo Blue for 5 bucks a gallon." What a moron, can you imagine if I were in there to pay cash for a new quad and the deusch bag salesman start getting cocky then? Sorry for the rant but I had to vent to ppl who can relate :baseball_wacko: -

been using Klotz R-50 32:1 for years with no prob. good stuff :thumb: great film strength, burns very clean, mixes easily, and smells great when mixed with racing fuel.

no. unless the instructions that came with your kit says to re-use them. otherwise toss them. Every aftermarket clutch kit I've heard of does away with them. :baseball_mitt:
