  2. The Banshee is King in the dunes, and at the strip. With its peaky powerband and lightning quick acceleration it just seems to be best suited for the sand. There used to be some history and a vid in the Yamaha-motors site about the making of the Banshee back in 1986. The info basically stated that the banshee was partly developed to dominate the ATV class of the Baja 500 & 1000 back in the late eighties. I looked for the article and clip but it has since been removed from the site with all the rest of the Banshee stuff. ::
  3. In a few weeks I plan on splitting mine apart for the first time. Time for crank seals, and while I'm at it get a True & Weld, bearings, maybe shift mod? A new top end, new head, and some of Jeff's magic on the ports Anyway, I'm going at it with my tools and know-how in one hand and a Clymer
  4. Power right out of the box! I love the diff they made on my shee, they def compliment pipes and air intake. Usually there is no re-jetting necessary for just adding the Vforce reed valves. However, they will make most bikes run a little more rich, so if you're already on the rich side you may need to re-jet.
  5. Lime Green? :yucky: I say loose those ugly shock covers! just my .02 - flames are so played out, so is Alba. I think a deep metalic blue or red would look sweet, black shock covers, and some new pipes  ....But you can never go wrong with silver.
  6. The article in DW made it sound like you could use either/or at any given time. They didn't say sh!t about a pin or anything.
  7. I'm originally from Lapeer, my folks still live there. I have a place in Pontiac, a fixer upper I'm turning into a rental. I
  8. so cool he only needs 1/3 of an avatar. :geek: and has trouble spelling EXHAUST :yelrotflmao:
  9. I've used it a couple of times, but I didn't get much time to play around with it. Look for a polar array comand or something similar. Sorry, if it was AutoCAD, UG, or CATIA I could be more of a help. I work mostly with V4 and V5. good luck
  10. Next time you need a RIS part go to RIS Designs directly, They're good guys to deal with and you'll get your shit when they promise it.
  11. They have killer mid-top end power. And one of the features I like the most about them is that they don't stick out much at all by your legs. I like to ride in shorts when it's hot, especially duning (my friends think I'm crazy) and I've yet to burn my legs. Infact, when I'm sitting on my shee, my feet would have to be up near the A-arms or the front tires to even come close to touching the pipes with my legs. :ninja: They are the only set up that doesn't use a clamp between the head pipe and the mid pipe (to my knowledge) so they really tuck in the frame nicely. The only thing I don't love about em...is the money I had to part with to get em. $$$
  12. I had a similar problem with mine, turns out its the angle that the stock hangers hold the pipes. Buy a set of RIS Designs billet head pipe hangers...problem solved. Plus they look sweet and hold the pipes solid. If you look on their site, it's very out of date so give them a call. Very good guys. PS- those pipes rip, you'll be happy ...and they will fit a lot better than most you see out there (w/o naming names)
  13. And how would they expect us to know how fast we are going :shoothead: I don't know about you, but I don't have a speed-o ...or a tach. I drive as fast as I feel safe in that given area, but that's usually pretty fast by their standards. So I guess they'll have to catch me, cause I ain't stoppin for no ticket. They can kiss the fattest part of my ass  with that one. Besides, have you ever tried to pick one single blue banshee out of maybe 50+ of them driving around? Good luck. Speed limit???? :yucky: I just don't think they could enforce it. $.02
  14. That should work. It'll be a HUGH difference. Lucky bass-turd
  15. If Dave or any one else can confirm this, I'd love to hear about it. I have money in hand and will go with one of these soon. so please help me make a decision. BUMP
  16. I'll be going to Jeff @ FAST. He can get either one and He has very good customer service. TTT
  17. I might be the only one to do this, but I've always fogged my motor before winter. Its commonly used on boats but works on all motors. It coats everything...carbs, cylinders, pistons, and exhaust. I've been useing the Yamaha 2 stroke engine fogging oil spray for years with great results. It protects against rust and pitting or other oxidation. I do some other things like treat the gas, change all fluids, etc...air up the tires and put a piece of carpet under the shee to keep the cold and moisture from coming up through the concrete. Here in Michigan, we see winters as bad as any (in the US) and after sitting for a good three months shee starts up in three kicks every spring no prob. Tip for all you guys keeping your shee in a barn or outside  Put a little steel wool in the ends of the pipes and cover the intake with something that critters won't eat through. A couple friends have had mice make nests in their machines, even caused a fire in a sled. He was lazy and never checked his ZR700 before heading up for a trip, and a chipmonk built a nest in his exhaust can. He found out when flames were coming out from under the hood. Just a little insurance
  18. You're right; it didn't come across very well. I wasn't trying to break any balls or shy people away. I just know that there are a lot of Trinity haters in here. And while some people speak from experience many just like to jump on a band wagon and say "yeah they suck" because they heard someone else say it. You both have valid points about the domes. Trinity's domes are quite diff from the rest, and do not work with other heads but I really don't see that posing a problem as I won't be changing them frequently. The reason they're different is b/c they have coolant diffusers near the domes that supposedly channel the coolant down the cylinders to keep them cool rather than just flowing in one side of the head and out the other cooling only the head. The stock head does this by way of the stock gasket but most o-ring sealing style heads do not. But like stated above, there is no rock hard evidence to prove one claim over another, other than gathering as much info as possible on the subject. The NOSS head is very nice as well, they have a tested and true design with versatile components and general ease of use. It
  19. Sweet. The Granny Titties were the best! :yelrotflmao:
  20. OK...I know this question will get a rise out of some of you, and that's fine. But I don't want to hear any bias one sided shit from people who have not researched both products. I want objective opinions with educated explainations PLEASE. Strickly perfrormance speaking, not price, or PR or ease of dome switching, or whatever.... Which Head? NOSS or Trinity? And WHY. I will be buying one of these very soon, and Jeff can get either one.
  21. Bug-eyed bitch, or "YOU'RE MY BOY, BLUE" :yelrotflmao:
  22. That movie rocks! I laughed my ass off. My buddy almost puked when he seen what they did to that horse. They crossed the line a few times on that one.
  23. If you're talking about swingarm skid plates? Then the diff between the bigger ones is that they protect the dog-bone (link) aswell as the rest of the rear end, the smaller ones only cover the rear axel housing, sprocket, rotor, ect...but are lighter. The .190 is the material thickness used. Smaller numbers (.125) are thinner and lighter, and a higher (.190) number is thicker offering better protection but at the cost of having heavier weight.
  24. Deeee - troit! We are long over due, I was just a kid the last time we won. Now if we could just get the Lions going...
  25. WTF does that have to do with banshees? ya know. Ebay's search comes up with some off the wall shit. I love when guys put "NOT BANSHEE" in their description and it ends up with the rest of the banshee stuff. :shoothead:
