The reason it has been forever and you havent gotten any replies is because there arnt really any good graphic kits for a banshee. Some people have a taste for the ones that are around but i honestly think most of them are tacky. If I were to ever get one the only one I would consider is made by hbomb(the bomb squad). O, another reason for no replies might also be because there are topics everywhere with "graphics" in the title. Youve probably done a search by now but if you havent you might stumble across something you like. Doubt it though. Later

Wait a second, I just noticed that the pic on the left of your sig... your bike had white rears. I always thought that you had no rears because you cant really see them. It looks sick with nothing.

Honestly, If all I did was ride dunes Id shave everything becuase I personly enjoy shaved things , but unfortunatly I hit the trails often. If its not your problem then there is no need to ask wack em.

As long as you dont half-butt do a project then anything can look nice. Im not much of a flames person unless it actually looks like fire. The ice thing sounds interesting as long as you stay away from a tacky setup. Some people get too carried away on their bikes and they end up looking like a pile of... :ermm: Just make sure that the BANSHEE theme  overshadows the ice theme. Later.

When you cleaned the carbs did you make SURE the pilot jet was clean. If you didnt or you dont know what a pilot jet is for that matter , it can be a real pain. The pilot jet is a small jet that screws down into a small tube in the carburator. If you take off the bowl and look real close you will find it. Any small debris can get caught in this jet and the symtons are exactly what is happening to you. In an idle the bike will not fire on whatever side is clogged because the pilot controls most of the fuel, but as you excelerate the main takes over. Hope this helps  Tip: The hole in the pilot is very small so use a straightend paper clip to shove anything out, and blow what ever you can out of the tube. An air compressor would be nice if you have one, just be careful around the floats mechanics.

Chain Slipping, and wheels bouncing
tmac20031 replied to SHEE157's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Im not sure what you could do about the chain because its kind of a fiddle-with-it type of job, but I can tell you that if the axle is misaligned then there is something wrong with the bearings inside. Youll have to open it up and check because if thats the case and you ride it like that the insides will start to grind away and you will have bigger problems. My cousins bike had that problem (its a craptor 660) and when a mechanic opened it up he had to pretty much replace everything inside. Anyways, just a heads up. -
First off you need to make sure exhaust comes out equally on both sides. If one side feels stronger, then its the carburators but you need to check first so I can tell you what to do. If the exhaust is equal, the only thing I can think of is to make sure your parking brake isnt engaged. Sometimes the actual brakes on a banshee can be unhooked but the cables themselves still function and if you somehow engage the wireing the bike will idle but will run like a slug. When you try to ride only one cylinder will fire as sort of a warning that the brake is still on. You can either check the parking brake system or you can disconnect it by unpluging the connector by the radiator that u can access by taking off the radiator shround. Ive had experience with both of these problems but if niether one is the case then its an engine problem. ...maybe a reed cracked Im not much help if its the engine but hopefully this info. helps one way or the other.

cut  only a matter a time before mine get wacked. Im waiting to get it back to the states and Im giving it a major face lift.

Thanks man, its good to hear straight from the horses mouth. I will probably end up doing just that. I still do think it might be time for a rebuild but t5s seem more of a smarter move every day. thanks for all the replies everybody.

What will fix low compression?
-
Yeah, I guess thats somewhat expected. I just feel like my bike isnt funcioning 100%.
-
Not much(at the bottom),but I would think that it would be enough to beat a stock 450.
-
would taking the airbox lid off be a bad idea?
-
The crossover tube is a small black tube that runs from one carb to the other. Its right in-between the carbs. If its missing you should see two pretruding holes near the top of both carbs. If its there you cant miss it. Without that tube your carbs dont sync together properly and your bike will act up.

The shee used to always surprise me when I would get on it but I think something has slowly gone wrong because It doesnt have that effect anymore... you know, that kick. It runs fine but damn, my cousins stock 450 just kicks my ass and I can never beat him; he always beats me by at least 2 bikes. I have noticed it but I guess I have been trying to convince myself that nothing is wrong. The only thing I changed were the jets, and I lowered them one size because of my altitude; I noticed the lag before hand. Any ideas?
-
Well, what do I need to do if my compression is low, really low? thanks
-
The shee isnt hitting as hard as it used to. It runs good but the initial hit isnt as good lately. i thought it was just me but people that I usually let ride it started to notice it too. I mean, everytime I used to get on it, it would suprise me all the time but it doesnt seem to have that effect anymore. Anybody have any ideas on what might have happened? I really would appreciate any help.

on, but ive got the holes drilled in the box. yeah yeah, fine

I wasnt going to post this but Im a postaholic and I always feel the need to post any little detail when it comes to my banshee. Anyways, I had 280's(mains) in my bike and I have ran them for a while but I ride in somewhat high elevation, I just never have really rejeted. Well, i did and I put 270s in because It seemed like it was wasteing gas. When I rode it, it seemed a little sluggish but it was very miniscul, so i just opened up the airscrews a little more and it runs a little closer than it did. I dont mind but will doing this cause any problems, because Im not sure. thanks
-
I think all banshees should have the title "DUECE"
-
O.k.. I cleaned the carburators and checked the floats real good and I even rejetted cause I was runnin a little rich but it still does the same thing. I go to warm it up and that right side just doesnt warm up untill I start riding and the engine revs up, then the right side kicks in but starts out sputtering. then I hit the gas hard and both sides kick in real good. Idleing is just a pain in the ass.
-
I posted up a topic about this but Im posting another one because I need some answers. the pressure is only coming out of one pipe now and it takes forever for the right side to warm up. I dont know what the problem is. I took off the carbs and they look fine, as well as the v-forces(as new as when I bought them). I just cant figure why the right piston isnt fireing good. I changed the plugs, as well as switched the boots back and forth but its the same verdict. What the heck. ::

dont know if this is a problem but my carb...
tmac20031 replied to tmac20031's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
the gas that drips from the breahers, it drips and lands on the engine which is the top of the transmission case. It sits there and over time it has gotten real dirty with dust and stuff that mixes with that gas. I was just trying to say that it has been doing this for a while and I think its dripping more than it should. And as far as the filter goes, Im saying that when it gets dirty it seems like there is alot of oil and gas on it, like the engine is spiting it out through the intake. -
Ive allways noticed that my carb breathers leak a little when Im hauling. I have just allways thought it was normal. Is it? Its not alot from what I see but overtime its gotten real dirty on top of the case so Im thinking it might be leaking a little more than it should. O, and something else Ive noticed is that my filter gets really dirty but it's more oil and gunk do to gas gunking up the dust. Is this normal?

How does yamaha paint the rims on the new special editions that are black. Dont they use powder? if not, what do they use? It obviously works well or they wouldnt use black rims. What will hold up better than powder or is it true that powder will hold up just fine?
