Personally, I think any transmission oil is good as long as its made by a reputable company. I mean as long as it does the job, it doesnt really matter.
-
Tell me thats a Ti Frame. That thing is such an inspiracion, thats exactly on the line of what I want to do with my banshee. Im mean with the wheels and the carbon pieces, it just screams light wieght, strong and fast. great bike man. O, my bad, I just read its Aluminum, but still its a great bike no doubt but you dont need me to tell you that.

Yeah, thats what Im looking for. What is the difference? Its just Im getting a carrier from RAD and the one I want says its stock carrier. Is one better than another or is it just design?
-
Yeah, I made sure to search the topic before I posted so I wouldnt get any flack about it, but all I saw was lonestar and there swingarms arent designed so I can attach a carrier.
-
Well, come to find out, Roll design doesnt make lobo swingarms anymore(aint that just a bioch). Anyways, I need to find another company that makes a good -1 swingarm but I need one that holds the carrier because Im getting one from RAD. Thanks

Too much adjustability? thats a first . Evols can work I believe, if you call fox I think there are possible options that they can discuss with you to make them fit. Me personally, I think Fox is the way to go for suspension. Its all new technology and can you say "team suzuki/yoshimura" thats what they use and Doug Gust has no complaints.
-
Personally, I think all the major brands are good. I mean a shock is a shock, all the major shock suppliers make their shocks with all the same principles so the only thing you should worry about is what price you can afford and what rideing style you mostly do. Now, if you are serious about your suspension than there is nothing better than Fox Evols. Some people will say negative things about these shocks but its because they dont have them, granted I dont have them either but facts are facts. Fox has hightened the bar because they are useing new technology, they use air instead of springs which eventually will become outdated. Also the Evols have two compression chambers instead of the common one, and it is used to actually prevent bottoming out. Again, these shox arent cheap but niether are Elkas and you would have to change your swing arms but if you want serious comfort then Fox Evols are definately the way to go.

I completely agree with this reply, if your bike is stock and you step it up to a 15 it would be pointless. I personally think a 14 is good enough is you have just pipes. If you go big on the motor then you can consider something larger than a 14 because at that point its a neccesity.
-
If you are a serious mx rider and you take on large jumps all the time and if you are very good at woop sections then I dont suggest them. If your a mild rider and dont take on things of a large magnitude then they are fine but I suggest you dont go "cheapest you can find".

Yeah, Krylon is some good stuff but there are some negatives. I painted an old recon I have because I wanted to try it on it before I risked it on my banshee. Its goes on well if you use slow strokes and wait a full minute between recoats. The bad thing about it is that you have to realize that paint is paint. If your wanting to use black and your bike is white(using a different color basically) eventually something is going to brush up against your bike and if its something hard the paint WILL stratch off and the white will show up like a sore thumb and something WILL eventually happen, especially if you ride trails. If you ride dunes or drag and your bike doesnt run the risk of contact with environmental elements then go for it but if it does then I wouldnt suggest it unless you use the same color as your plastics.
-
Thats the color scheme Im planning to use but Im going to go with a dark blue frame. I think it will come out great plus its always good to represent yamablue.
-
I dont think you can use just any type of clear, I think you have to get it with a flex agent or else it wont bond with the plastic and it could chip off.
-
Allready did, and they dont make them anymore, I wish they did but its unfortunate. For one thing, Im not looking for just the 20lb shave, I also want something very strong that isnt heavy as hell and is lighter than stock. And as far as the wrap goes, I already asked if you could get off my back about it. Thats an old post and I decided not to do it, also I dont go to mexico to talk to girls but there their and I cant help it, theres plenty here in the states I know, but what the hell is wrong with quieting down all that noise, it aint like I asked you for your opinion on rartor plastics. I really dont know what your problem is but whatever, JUST SO I CAN END THIS POST I WANT TO THANK EVERYBODY FOR THEIR OPINIONS AND I GUESS YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO SEE IF I DO IT OR NOT.

There is no link, it has to be special ordered, Ive looked everywhere for outlaws but I cant find them. I knew someone like you would throw something negative in my face eventually, but it fine man, I forgive you and Ive usually respected your opinions but damn. Im sorry I take trips to mexico where it is not "ILLEGAL" to drive on the road or ride double so get off my back about it. And excuse me if women like to hop on, Im not going to say no, I mean damn I can ride by myself all I want but riding isnt my only hobby. Some guys like chics and whats better than them grabing on to you on the back of a shee.

First of all its stock geometry, and if I decide to Im not just going to get the frame, I obviously know that it doesnt make any sense. Im going to go with roll design +2+1 a-arms and a -1 lobo swinger. And as far as the 250r geo. LSR doesnt make them anymore, I would much rather purchase that but hey, what can you do if it doesnt exsist, the next best thing.

See, this is sort of another answer I wanted to hear. See, the another thing I want to find out is if I were to buy it, I want to know what reactions will be. Whether I have plenty of money or not, I just want to know if reactions will be "man that guys nuts for spendin that much money on a piece of crap like that" or "man that thing is badass". And where else to find that out than fellow shee riders?

Best reply by far, thanks for the advice. Its people like you that keep this site alive. Very few members give good advice instead they like to just say random crap instead of actually expanding on the topic at hand.

I dont understand what you are talking about? Everyone knows that titanium is one of the strongest materials in the world. I mean, NASA wouldnt use it for there space shuttles if it didnt last long. When you talk about longevity of titanium I hope your talking about several hundred years. Also, what do you mean by brittle, its freakin Titanium, the last thing it is is brittle. Carbon, yeah its brittle but you cant compare it to Titanium.

Well, Im not over wieght, anymore. I used to play football and I lost 50 lbs. I dont think I could lose anymore seeing as that i dont have any left, and I dont think cutting off limbs would be a good option :yelrotflmao: . Well, I dont race as a career but I take trips alot and riding is like a hobby, you could say. I just want to lighten hear up and make hear strong so that it will last me a long time and since I have the money I just wanted some opinions to see if it is a good move. I mean if there was another way to shave 20 lbs off I would do it. Ive already ordered Hiper carbon fiber wheels and I plan to install roll design a-arms and their swinger(thats for later). The only other thing I can think of that holds alot of wieght is the engine but there aint much I can do in that department. i did find a carbon fiber stator cover but thats about it.

You think $7000 is worth a 21 lb weight reduction and titaniums strength.(Basically, if you had 7 g's would you get it?). Im tired of speed at this point cause there will always be a banshee faster than somebody elses so Ive been looking everywhere for things to lighten hear up and get hear to handle better. Some of you might be thinking,"why dont you just get a YFZ" and just to nip that in the bud before it starts, 2-stroke 350 twin has gotten into my blood and anything else will just not do, I probably wouldnt survive :yelrotflmao:

I know there down but I dont give a damn, my vains will always run garnett and gold? Im a USC(SC) student but FSU will always be the shiznit. Just wait till next year, The tamachop is coming baby. Go FSU

pistons instead of porting?
tmac20031 replied to The Faster Cracker's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Not just singlen you out but this is supposed to be a site where banshee riders can go to get advice from people that have "experience" with whatever it is they are getting help on, so Im going to say that, Unless anyboby has actually, with there own eyes(not that, ive heard, my friend heard bull) seen vitos fail then shut the freak up because there doesnt need to be negative comments on products that might be perfectly fine. -
Thats what I was thinking just wasnt sure, thanks
-
Well this question might come off as simple to some but we are not all professionals. I use my bike to have fun and ride around but I like to line up on the line occasionally. So whats the best to improve on in the quarter mile: low/midrange or mid/top-end. It sounds logical to me that it would be low/mid but Im not a serious dragger so any advice would be good. The reason Im asking is because my bike is stock like Ive said before because I want to keep it reliable and Im thinking about getting vitos power or superstock piston kit depending on the advice I get.

OK, just to get this straight. I just got a reply from DEI and all he said is that they only see problems when the wrap is layed over more than a 1/4". Is this maybe why people are saying they will rot or does somebody have undeniable proof or logic that they will rot, even with a 1/4" overlay?
