  1. what kind of riding do u plan on doing? I can't really help ya until I know this. Welcome to the HQ!!!!!!
  2. sand by far. but I like riding dirt too. as long as it is a fast desert trail that is fairly bumpy and whooped out with some natural jumps thrown in.
  3. My parents DON'T GIVE ME MY SHIT. MY SHIT IS NOT HANDED TO ME. When they buy me something that isn't for my birthday or christmas I do LOTS of extra chores or one long one (like reroofing the shed) to pay it off. I never said I had it hard. I was simply responding to that other guy saying I get handouts. WHile I do have easier than you guys I also don't have some of the privileges you do like say staying out past 10:00, going on a random glamis trip with some friends etc... Dawarriorman says i don't need a car. I need it to get to work and go riding (when my parents allow me to). Therefore I need the job to pay for insurance and gas (which is hella expensive). And he doesn't "need" a car either, he could take the bus to work. My point is not that I have it hard. My point is that I don't get handouts.
  4. if ur just cruisin around in the dirt and don't ride hard the stock will be fine, and it is softer than the 450 shock will be.
  5. My bad. I only said that cuz my bike is 54.7hp on a dynojet dyno with the mods listed in my sig so i figured the single carb was worth like 5hp over stockers with pods. Sorry for the confusion.
  6. My parents don't give me hand outs. They did by the bike but I still had to work for it. The only things they bought for my bike were the pipes(used for $300, only christmas gift christmas), single carb(b-day, only gift), pistons and crank(reroofed our shed, took five days). The rest of pwr radiator($350), a-arms($425), front shocks($850), rear shock rebuild($400), tires(when they wear out), billet water and cover($140), rims(when they get bent), painting the frame and other parts($150). All of this money came from a JOB i had working 10-12 hours a week at MINIMUM wage. Oh yeah my TRUCK. They matched the $1000 dollars I spent on the purchase and are paying for half the replacement parts(I am doing all of the work for replacing the motor while dad stands there and answers any of my Q's), and I am doing work to cover the costs like: washing thier cars inside&out, cleaning the garage once a week. Yes I am spoiled but they didn't buy the equivalent of a $3100 Loius Vaton(spelling) PURSE, like a couple of chicks in some of my classes, in banshee parts for a beginning of the school year present. I'm not saying I'm not spoiled but I sure as hell don't get handouts.
  7. ur prolly makin 47-52 hp with ur setup. If u include that huge sunoco sticker ur prolly makin more like 65, j/k. Welcome to the hq.
  8. Get some +2+1 a-arms and either elka or tcs shocks with a resevoir. When you get ur frontend done u are really gonna notice the shortcomings of the stock rear shock. You are only gonna be able to go as fast as the rear shock allows even with a kickass frontend. Its only about $400 to revalve and respring the rear shock so u might as well do it cuz u won't notice a big increase in speed in the whoops unless u do both the front and rear at the same time. Same goes for jumping, the rear will still bottom-out, even if you have a good frontend.
  9. Beats high school, which starts tomorrow god damnit (junior). No more wakin' up at whenever. At-least you get payed to do the thing you hate the most.
  10. sweet, thanx red
  11. keep it the same all year round. Welcome to the HQ!
  12. If ur goin for top speed get a set of pipes that are for top-end. Those gnarlies are low-end pipes. If you wanna stick with FMF get some SST's, if u don't care get T5's (i think, i got 'em and they make good top-end) or cpi small-bores, shearers, rockets, etc.......
  13. Like the title says, people in Las Vegas Nevada willing to abuse their shit in the desert with me. I might be goin ridin monday (at apex, at like 6:00a.m.) depending on work schedule, and whether or not i have someone to go with. later.
  14. Where did you get that jug so cheap. My friend is gonna be pissed cuz he just spent like 2K through ESR for everything (jug, piston, crank, pipe, head, carb, clutch, radiator etc...). The banshee is going to be a better all around bike if you ever go to the dunes even if you do ride tight trails the basnhee will be OK. While the 250r will excel in tight trails, get it out in the open (desert, dunes etc...) against a banshee and it will fall behind. And no matter which bike you get you're still gonna have to at least buy shocks.
  15. you can get a solid 55hp out of a banshee on pump gas for about $1000 in motor work. A 55hp 250r is gonna be runnin straght race gas and cost at least $2000( :shoothead: ) for the motor work. 'nuff said.
  16. uh.......no. You should not be using motor oil in a wet clutch, the ATF i don't no about. Any of the above listed oils (besides the castrol) will work good. You could also look into Maxima MTL 80wt.
  17. My parents don't let me race cuz: 1. My mom is a nervous wreck when i'm just out dunin and 2. My dad has health insurance through his job and they don't cover you if you get injured in a racing event. And I'll prolly be in dumont cuz isn't that event on th 29-31 of october.
  18. way too stiff and way too short on travel. if ur gonna be jumpin u should try to increase ur travel not decrease it.
  19. Take your radiator down to any good radiator shop and have them clean it. They will pop the tanks off, dip it in a solvent tank, then run a rod through all of the passages to dislogde any crap that might be in it. Than they put back int the solvent tank, and put back together. Be sure to tell them u don't want it repainted cuz the paint will effect heat transfer. If that don't work get a PWR, Fluidyne, etc etc...... Have fun with ur cub!
  20. Thanx. And apex is an awesome place to ride. I need somone to go riding with though cuz my parents don't like me riding alone.
  21. ^^^^^ damn thats funny :yelrotflmao: ^^^^^
  22. Turned 16 today. Don't have a license yet cuz I still have to finish the online drivers-ed shit. My truck will be ready to drive in a week or two (had to replace the engine, 4.0L V6) though. Its a '92 ranger I bought a couple of months ago. It only has like 76,xxx miles on it so I hope the auto tranny is bad too. It's got a 4" bent i-beam lift and its sittin on 33" inch BFG Mudders. I'll post som pix when me and my dad get off the lift. Anyway, happy b-day to me. And does anyone live in Las Vegas, NV cuz I might be goin ridin on sunday. later
