New Banshee owner wants real advice.
wacko2000 replied to gentner8's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Like said you want nice reliable machine.. You ride streams so you are keeping you airbox.. Start with a good set of pipes, change the filter, advance the timing, maybe a slight port job, bump your compression with either a cool head or just have the stocker done..I have a noss head, If I did it again I would have the stocker modified and spend the money else where... If you do that you will have a nice running bike, doesnt seem like you ride with any crazy fast machines so Im sure you'll be able to hold your own... I have simliar mods and my shee rips,I have 33pwk carbs, I bought them and now Im selling them bc the shee is fast enough like this... I smoke all my buddies so its all good...My shee is very reliable, starts right up and runs all day with me kickin the shit out of it..... Dont over due it bc It might be to much for the type of riding you have avaible around you.... good luck.. -
Sorry To Break It To The Banshee Guys
wacko2000 replied to flattrakker's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Honestly i donno about that trade...But if you are happier riding the Z400 with the riding you have around you than sooo be it... My buddies girlfriend has a Z400 and shee likes it, no compliants...It does seem to be a bit on the heavy side... If I was ever to get ride of my shee it would have to be for a 450 or 700r I wouldnt settle for anything less..... good luck with you new quad buddy.. -
why dont you just have your a-arms powdercoated, that might be the cheapest way unless they are beat up or you want wider or something..
-
I have the old Sand skate..I believe they are 8 paddle and I spin them like crazy..I think I need something alittle more agreesive for my shee as well..Thinkin 9 paddle I guess..
-
thanks but I need some more info than that...lol How was your shee performing before uou brought it there and how is it running now? whats the differences, would you do it again? I think this guy wanted more around the 200 marker...
-
So Im thinking about having my shee dyno tuned..I have the bike running pretty good, buy just not good enough... Whats does everyone think about the dyno tune? Does this really get it spot on? Im new to the dyno thing... What is a average fare price to pay for this... There is a guy around here that is supposed to be REALLY good with banshee's...he has a dyno and says that he could get high 60's out of my shee...I really dont care about how much power he can steal, I just want her to run good... So anyone with any info please chime in.... thanks Joseph

So as of now they are sold, pending payment.. from XsinnerX

wow thats looks terrible.. what does the rest of the port job look like..How was the bike running before you took it apart? This my only pic, but this is what mine looked like when I got them back from Passion..

List of things to buy with questions
wacko2000 replied to badbrad's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I agree with the above, your builder will be able to answer all your questions the best..If you are only getting ported, then you jugs will only needed to be shipped..It is pretty expensive to ship the whole motor, I shipped mine when I had it rebuilt and It was over $100 bucks.. Good luck with your shee.. I would listen to the guys on here they really now there stuff. -
I have the $35 one also..I have no compliants, great mod for the money..
-
well I got some pics for all the people interested...
-
Congratulation man..Jim built my motor aswell, he does good work...
-
Ive been getting alot of pms about these carbs.. I am working a deal with 91tsiawd right now, he wants everything... I will keep everyone updated...thanks Joseph
-
You will see a nice differnce if you change the shocks and leave the a-arms, but I recommend doing the a-arms as well. My shee suspension was all stock, now I have it all done all the way around and It is night and day....and I bought good stuff not great, and and still very pleased... good luck and let use kno what you decide on..
-
Yea well I ride lots of tight trails and such so I was thinkin the stockers would be good enough... I want 250 plus shipping.. I also have a ss throttle cable which will be extra...Its brand new still in package...
-
Like its says above..Im thinkin about selling the 33's that I bought from "Nicktoney" from HQ.....BigRed350x is the original owner of these carbs..Hopefully he will chime in here...I bought these carbs to put on my new motor that was built by passion, but the bike is fast enough for the riding that I do....I want to get my money back on these carbs... they are in good condition, BigRed350x had cut one float off each carb so that they hold more fuel, you dont have to worry about running the bowls dry while running WOT for longs periods or hill shooting...It is the same as buying a pingel valve I am told...I was told that this is not effect you at all.. The left choke was slightly melted from leaning on the pipe...no biggie...both choke still work perfect and stay up on there own... I installed these just for shits and giggles and the shee fired right up and sound VERY strong... 33pwk billet boss intake with built in crossover alot of jets, 2 sets of needles cable...which looks alittle beat up...Nicktoney said he was running it without a prob...I had purchased a SS cable brand new from passion just to be safe...The cable will be extra... rubber adaptors if you are running a airbox... I will post pics tom..any questions feel free to ask...

Works are great shocks..Alot of people run them, Am I saying that they are better than elka's, NO, but they are a good shock and you will not be disappointed..I had the rear shock completely rebuild by works, new spring and all... setup for my bike, weight and riding style...I am very very happy with the rear shock.... o0o yea and the titan def gets dirty to...I disconnected the trailer and had alittle fun during lunch...lol
-
well I dont now to much about that bike, but I doubt that its going to be eating any bike that was listed... some people exaggerate way to much...
-
I dont think that you will have any regrets, if you go with works or elka compared to stock.. anything, absolutly anything is better than stock..I went with works, Im a weekend warrior, recreational rider and I love the new setup, I had the rear shock rebuilt and everything feels great.. By the way my shee is a 2000 also and I have a titan... Good choices
