Yeah man, when I saw the guy ride it out of his storage unit and there was Armor All on the tires and plastics, I was like go ahead and ride that thing right up onto the trailer. Found it in my local Craigslist. Wasn't even looking, but found this http://sacramento.craigslist.org/mcy/ 2483810669.html I wanted that 05 so bad so I could swap my 1987 to an A-Arm frame, but it sold. I would have made all my money back and then some, but oh well. Then I was pissed, and thought i can't pass this 02 up, so I pulled the trigger and scooped it up. Here's the ad. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/mcy/2483810669.html Are you kidding me... I think I made the right choice.

OMG, this Banshee is a full on virgin! There aren't any scratches on the bottom of the frame. The original owner had Yamaha install the Toomey T5 pipes, perfect jet kit and 2 into 1 air cleaner for him. I have all of the receipts. My 9yr old son sits under my blue and black helmet that finally matches my new 2002 Team Yamaha Blue Banshee! This thing is insanely clean and stock as fuck, except for that DG Front Bumper and the Toomey Pipe Kit. If you can guess what I paid I will tell you.

jetting single carb from sea level to 2000ft
Strm Trpr replied to hp2000's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
http://www.google.com/#q=two+stroke+jetting+and+elevation Think about it man, air gets thinner with altitude so less oxygen is available, so less fuel is required so leaner jetting is required. This thread should put any questions you or your engine should have about jetting and elevation. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/suzuki-tech/high-altitude-carb-jetting-8431 -

jetting single carb from sea level to 2000ft
Strm Trpr replied to hp2000's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
The above is misinformation. The air gets thinner when you go up in elevation, so you have to lean it out! I have a mostly stock bike except for my Trinity Racing 2 into 1 34mm PJ Keihin, K&N pod filter and my Paul Turner mids. My bike did well with a 182 Main at Pismo, (sea level). Went to Sand Mountain, NV (4000 ft) and I couldn't pull 4th gear up the mountain where the peak is ~4500 ft. Dropped down to a 175 Main and I was able to pull 4th no problem. 2 weeks later I was back down at Pismo bike was an absolute beast. It would pull the front tires up rolling the throttle on in 3rd. I ripped on it pretty hard and never got above 160*F. Do your research. IIRC, for every 1700ft up in elevation you go you're supposed to go down 1 Main Jet size, example, 182 to 180. Is your bike dyno tuned at sea level? -

You still have these? I'm very interested. I live up north in the valley. LMK -
Sounds to me like an exhaust flow issue. Congrats on finding the issue ! I bet that 3hr ride felt great ! Now find the difference between the silencers that's causing the issue. Just to clarify, are you replacing just the silencer or the pipe and silencer that connects to the header?

Just got off the phone with Joe about a tracking number, man what an awesome guy! It turns out Steven did hook me up with a deal for a new intake boot, and all of the o-rings! Right on Trinity Racing !
-
Wished I had read/seen this thread before I ordered my 2 into 1 intake boot. Spoke with Steven or Steve, mentioned I saw that Trinity was a site sponsor on the BHQ, and he didn't say anything about saving me a buck. Oh well, I'll be calling Joe in the future.....

Yo... Any word on this?

Fired up 1/2 of the first kick! Decided not to run it down the street. Put my paddles and razorbacks on and loaded it onto the trailer heading for Sand Mountain, NV this evening ! -
Sand MT Nevada for Memorial day weekend
Strm Trpr replied to wfobasheeboy's topic in Riding and Events Forum
I'm outta here for the day. Have a Dr. Appt... Well I did, but they called and rescheduled. Shhhh, don't tell anyone. Going home to finish the Banshee. Pulling Flywheel, and installing adjustable timing plate with +3 degrees of timing advance. While I'm in there I'll be cleaning up the Stator and making sure the pickup coil is set at .016-.020" gap to the flywheel. Also making sure all wiring is good for the Trail Tech Lights I picked up Nick at F.A.S.T. Will be receiving those from the man in Brown by 3pm tomorrow, then I'm on the road. I'll do the install on the sand Saturday. -
Post a picture. It could say more than you could in 1000 words. Pitting on piston crowns and head domes is also a sign of detonation or knock. I run a 65lb/min Turbocharged 97 Mitsu Eclipse GSX. The spare head I had built had its fair share of detonation pitting from knock. Could be an air leak like the 2nd guy said. This would make that cylinder run lean. Running lean would increase combustion temps, which would increase the chance of pre-ignition of your air/fuel mixture, which then leads to detonation. You say you're running +4 degrees timing advance. What fuel are you running? What does the questionable cylinder's sparkplug look like compared to the other? If the plug has signs of fuzzy gray material on it, that is vaporized aluminum. Just a guess guys, feel free to call bullsh!t...

Sand MT Nevada for Memorial day weekend
Strm Trpr replied to wfobasheeboy's topic in Riding and Events Forum
Yes sir. We should be pulling in around midnight. Should be interesting trying to find a campsite in the dark with a rookie sand driver behind the wheel. I might have to Commandeer the Brother-In-Law's Rig once we get there. I know he'll get us stuck before we get off the main road... Fcukin Tard! He's one of those too smart for his own good kinda guys that thinks they know best about everything and is way to proud to ask for any help. Wished we could leave the valley around Midnight Thursday night and get there around 6am Friday, but I'm not driving so.... Is this your Rig? I would imagine it has a large WWW.BANSHEEHQ.COM across the back door right. I'll be looking for ya. I'll take a ride thru campsites Saturday morning see if I can find you. There's usually 50k + people up there on Memorial Day Weekend. Should be quite a -

Welp, finally got a chance to pull it apart. Here's what I found. Two inner most OE friction plates broken. And all those little bits. I hope none of that shit found its way into the transmission... Eccentric Screw was loose and wobbly. The shift mechanism was exactly the way you see it when I pulled the clutch basket off. Clutch Basket, Inner Hub and Pressure Plate all look great. Question, should I be able to rotate the shift star by hand and select gears? Tonight I'm installing the following: Shift Pro new Eccentric Stud, Lock Nut and Lock Washer F.A.S.T. modded shift shaft w/new OE torsion spring and shaft seal Kick Starter Idler Pulley Bushing and C-Clip. It is rather wobbly at present and the new bushing should make it puss... Kick starter seal new Clutch Basket Lock Washer F.A.S.T. HD Clutch Kit new clutch push rod, ball and Cascade Pancake Bearing new Clutch Lever and Perch with needle bearing in pivot Clutch Cable new OE Clutch Cover Gasket new OE Water Pipe O-Ring Magnetic Drain Plug Honda Gear Saver Trans Oil 50/50 Prestone Coolant F.A.S.T. Clutch Cover and Stator Cover Allen Head Screw Kit I'm jetted for sea level, but I'm going up to 4000'. I was told go up one needle clip and adjust air screw, what do you think? Also, did I forget anything with my repair list? Thanks in advance! -

I don't know. My buddy just picked it up. It's one of these kits. http://www.ctracing.com/trx250r.htm Here are a few pics of the 330R. Definitely the cleanest 250R he has ever owned. He did have an 86' 250R that was hooked up by Curtis Sparks Racing. That thing was an absolute beast! This new one, should be badass! Dyno'd at 58rwhp as it sits...
