  1. When viewed from the side, negative caster is when the upper ball joint is slightly in front of the lower ball joint, and as JT stated, you never want negative caster. Try this link. http://lsracing.com/img/Guide_21.pdf
  2. You want the top ball joint to be just behind the lower ball joint. You want your caster angle 7*+/-1* and your camber -1* to -1.5*. The larger the caster angle the greater high speed stability you'll have but turning sharp will suffer. The smaller the caster angle the better you can turn sharply, but you will need a steering stabilizer because the steering will feel light and twitchy.
  3. Yeah, that's also another problem, I am absolutely 110% happy with my job.
  4. If I put in 35yrs and at 60 I can retire with 88% of my monthly salary until I expire, and if my spouse out lives me, she'll receive it until she expires. If I put in 40yrs and after 60 I'd get 100%...
  5. Golden handcuffs equals a job with a 100% pension. Yeah I know, it's terrible problem to have but I'm stuck in fucking Commifornia because of it. I have yet to check for anything comparable. And no, I do not work for the county or the state.
  6. I would if I could, ever hear of "Golden Handcuffs"?
  7. Gray Davis only tried raising vehicle registration by 141% and he got impeached! This fucking asshat is raising gasoline tax $0.16/gal and vehicle registration by 141%. Their plan was to get everyone stoned and then shove these additional taxes down our throat! The ass clowns voting for these fucking retards and the laws they force on us are direct descendants of the Woodstock era fucking liberal hippy losers! Make peace not war fucking pussies that spit on our soldiers when then came home from Vietnam. The Jane Fonda crowd and the Hollywood cocksuckers that wouldn't be shit if it weren't for the drones that pay to watch the bullshit the movie makers publish! BOYCOTT HOLLYWOOD!! And I guarantee you shit will change quick!
  8. The state gasoline tax is already $0.38/gal, so raising it 42% will take it to $0.54/gal!
  9. FUCK COMMIFORNIA AND THE LIBTARDS THAT RUN THIS SHIT HOLE!!
  10. MOONBEAM BROWN STAIN IS A BONAFIDE PIECE OF SHIT ! !
  11. I just got my motor parts back from adding a little color. I hope to ship the motor to redline this weekend.
  12. Obviously my jetting seems way lean to you, but my fuel to oil ratio is much richer, 30% more fuel than you.
  13. 28:1 has 30% less fuel than 40:1. My jetting with the following mods at sea level were: 91 octane mixed 40:1 w/YamaLube 2R T5's stk bore/stk port/stk head Chariot billet reed cages w/2stage boyesen reeds Chariot billet non cross-over intakes Stk bored carbs K&N pods w/outerwears +4* timing 27.5 pilots stk needles w/needle clip in the middle groove 310 mains A true plug chop is done going through all 6 gears WFO, pull in the clutch, kill motor, stop safely, remove and replace plugs to be chopped.
  14. FFS, why are you mixing your fuel at 28:1 with klotz? Which klotz are you mixing?
  15. This is interesting, I'm in for the discussion.
  16. You are correct Sir! I might have been thinking about the 450R rear hubs that make the axle 1.5" wider. Those have to be from a YFZ450R which the first model year was 2009. As far as the 450's front brake master cylinder goes, the cut off point is 2007 and newer. 2007 part # is 5D3-2583T-02-00 2006 part # is 5TG-2583T-10-00 I apologize and I hope I corrected the previous misinformation.
  17. I do not have a clue, but I'd imagine there's a need for the upgraded MC or Yamaha wouldn't have done it. I went straight from stock braking to my set-up in my profile. Night and day difference! From what I've read, and don't quote me on this, I want to say the 09 MC is more progressive.
  18. Yes, definitely! In order to really take advantage of the dual piston calipers you need to try and score a MC from an 09 or newer YFZ450R.
  19. hp2000 has a couple sets of knuckles for sale, $45/pr. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/188128-wanted-front-hubs-and-spindles/#entry1843272
  20. No, do not run any suspension from a YFZ450 on your Banshee. Try and find someone parting out an a-arm Banshee and get it all at once. Calipers from a raptor 700 and the MC from a 09 or newer 450R. What j-arms are you running?
  21. I'll tell you what. My 02 with dual piston calipers and 450R MC will out stop my buddy's 89 on the asphalt by many, many feet. Locking up your tires will not stop you sooner. Think about how ABS works. Decelerating without skidding is paramount in a panic stop no matter what terrain you ride. The only way for you to covert to the newer brakes is to convert to newer knuckles, rotors and hubs. The newer calipers will not mount to your old knuckles. Then your older hubs will not work with the newer knuckles. My first Banshee was an 87 that I picked up in 94. I have everything I mentioned above from a 2000 ready to go when I can afford to build her for my two teenage boys to ride.
  22. As far as the interchangeablity of rotors and hubs go, from what I can tell comparing part numbers in RMATV, Yamaha changed the part number prefixes, but the main number appears to be the same. I looked at the rotors, rotor rock guards and rotors.
  23. Not sure if you know this, but you will need newer knuckles to mount the newer calipers. Raptor 700 or YFZ 450 calipers are the same dual piston caliper. 2009 YFZ450R's or newer have the best master cylinder to run the dual piston calipers from the raptor or 450. And if you can get a hold of YFZ450R rear hubs, you can widen the ass end by 1.5".
  24. Update to this. I used calipers and found the hole ID is Ø.315". The tap drill for a 3/8"-16 UNC thread is Ø.3125" or 5/16". So, I ran a 3/8-16 UNC tap in the hole and red loctited a socket head set screw in there. Now it's out for color.
