  1. If it were me, I'd replace the pedals and gaskets and run it til it breaks. Save some scratch and do the 421 Assassin upgrade if it breaks. No point tearing down a tired motor and putting it back together and chance not finding a damn thing. Worst case is you might have to have the crank rebuilt or replaced. If it were a new motor, then yes, tear into it! My $0.02...
  2. 1 pint of Yamalube 2R to 5 gallons of fuel is 40:1 and RMATV sells that stuff for $6.78/pint. Been running that oil and mix for 20+ years with zero failures.
  3. Where are you located?
  4. If my rock crawling buddy puts a bun in his wife's oven and then that KOTH is off.
  5. If I don't go to KOTH Feb 3rd - 11th 2017, I'll be there Fo Sho!!
  6. If you're serious about your engine and tuning, build or buy a leak down tester and a digital tach from eBay. http://m.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Banshee-Two-Stroke-2-Stroke-Leak-Down-Tester-/291786994849?nav=SEARCH http://m.ebay.com/itm/New-Digital-Tach-Hour-Meter-Tachometer-Gauge-For-2-Stroke-4-stroke-Gas-Engines-/331223584733?nav=SEARCH Buy a FAST Sync tool too. http://farmandsandtoys.com/ocart2/carburetor-sync-tool.html?search=Sync
  7. Yeah with like 16mm carbs. That 6 gallon per day trip was with stock carbs too.
  8. Then you're not riding hard enough.
  9. If the OP's motor is air tight, the above jetting will be very, very close.OP, inspect the intake boots for cracks. Re-torque all reed cage and intake screws. 250in•lbs or 20ft•lbs Seat both airscrews gently and turn them out 1/2 a turn at time until they're 1-1/2 turns out. But all of the above needs to happen first, then the following needs to happen. Is TORS eliminated? Is your idle set to ~1,500 rpms? Are your carbs sync'd at idle with a FAST Sync tool? Are your carbs sync'd at part throttle?
  10. Sweet!! I'd say I'm a very aggressive rider!! I once burned 18 gallons of fuel in 3 days in Pismo's measly 1,500 acres. In one 30 min session with Carlo and JT I was on reserve...
  11. I've decided on 21x12x8 8 paddle extremes for $282 shipped from RMATV. I shred dunes. I do not drag race. I haz a +2 swing arm. I'll have a Redline pump gas Serval. I weigh 250# w/full gear. I like to take windy walks on the beach in Pismo and I don't usually drink beer, but when I do, I prefer an ice cold Lagunitas IPA...
  12. Yes HP2000, please educate us.
  13. Im not gonna share that info.
  14. OCP wants $450 shipped for B2B buffed 21x12x8 8 paddle extremes. Another thing the hottie on the phone told me was that Skat Trak doesn't drop ship so the more local a shop is to Skat Trak the better the deal... John at Sand Toys has that price beat by a mile with sales tax and shipping!
  15. I'll give them a call in a minute. Office is full of outsiders right now...
  16. Nah man, I do not need the wheels and if I'm gonna spend that kind of coin on skat traks I'd rather have the extremes. Thanks for the contact info. That's the shop I was looking for!
  17. Excellent, thanks for the info John. I'll fill them up and dunk them this weekend to find the leaks. The rims are brand new black Douglas A5's with brand new valve stems, but anything is possible.
  18. still looking for an out of Commifornia Skat Trak dealer.
  19. nice!! my sls' leak now and I can't find any punctures. I have yet to dunk them and chase bubbles, but I'll do that this weekend. how many psi do you have in those tires for your pics?
  20. ahh, perfect!! are those sls' or just standard bead to bead?
  21. what roll out are those?
  22. Looking for Skat trak dealers outside of Commifornia that'll give me a great deal on a set of standard bead to bead buff 8 paddle extremes on 21x12x8's with approximately a 70" roll out. I called John at Sand Toyz and he told me for an 80whp Serval Duner a 21x12x8, 8 paddle extreme is like a 21x12x8, 9 paddle hauler. I have a set of 21x12x8 SLS 9 paddle haulers and they're just too damn thin and they leak a little bit now. Sales tax and shipping is killing his excellent price. RMATV sell 21x12x8 8 paddle extremes for $280 shipped, but they're not bead to bead buffed and they're on whatever carcass skat trak chose the day they made that pair RMATV has in stock. I heard of a shop in Oregon that has good prices, but forgot their name. I'll call Cascade in the mean time, and PM YGR too. Thanks in advance!!
  23. Must pull both plugs out. Hold throttle wide open with engine switch off. Kick it until the needle stops rising. My motor cold use to kick 120psi at sea level. Had Mull Engineering cut and rechamber my stock head, now it kicks 150psi cold.
  24. 90psi at your elevation? Your top end is worn the fuck out. Time for a new top end.
  25. I guarantee your jetting is too rich. However, you should leak down test your motor for sure and make sure your top end is not leaking at all. Try and make sure both pistons are halfway up in the bores so you can assure air is finding it's way throughout your motor. You should also do a compression test with a quality compression tester. Harbor Freight crap doesn't cut it... Craftsman at minimum. Clean out your carbs one at a time with carb cleaner and compressed air. And clean your air filters really good and properly oil your filters. Then you need to verify carb sync at idle and part throttle. I use the following digital tach from ebay and the FAST Sync tool. Tach http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Digital-Tach-Hour-Meter-Tachometer-Gauge-For-2-Stroke-4-stroke-Gas-Engines-/331223584733?hash=item4d1e76cfdd:g:~awAAOxyi-ZTadfo&vxp=mtr FAST Sync Tool http://farmandsandtoys.com/ocart2/carburetor-sync-tool.html?search=sync Maybe you can find someone locally that has a sync tool and is willing to help you. I'd help in a heartbeat if I didn't live in Commifornia...
