Awesome advice, thanks Cam!! Unfortunately I'm out of time to tear the bottom-end apart and have the crank welded. I'm leaving for Pismo in 18 days. I hope this doesn't kick me in the balls, but I'm gonna risk it!! However, I will do a squish test like you recommended just to know what's what.

^^^ very rich!!

Well, I know this is frowned upon, but my bottom-end is stock and has never been opened up, therefore the crankshaft is not welded. Cylinders are stock bore stock port too. I think I might back the timing down to 0* advance for initial start-up with this new head and all of my other new mods so I can be sure the tune is spot on before adding any advance to it. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Brandon? First trip is to Pismo for Memorial Weekend and I'll be there from Friday to Tues. Need the crank to stay together!! I know 33's are overkill for a stock motor. I sold my stock carbs and needed to pull the trigger on a set of PWK's. 33's and 35's are back ordered all over the country. JD's distributor had these two in stock so I snagged them. After this trip the bottom-end is going to Redline for some 421 Serval action!! Mods for initial start up will be: 33mm PWK's w/pods and outerwears 48 pilots airscrews 1/2 out CEL needle middle clip 155 mains 0* Timing Advance 91 octane mixed 40:1 with YamaLube 2R UPP cross-over intakes VF4's Mull Pump Gas Head PC's w/304 silencers Thoughts on jetting? Will the left carb drain bolt head hit my clutch actuator arm with UPP intakes and VF4's?

Ahh The head I gave him was clean and virgin. I'm hoping I'm right around 155psi.
-
Dayum, that's high compression. Welded crank?
-
^^^ Exactly!!

WTF are you talking about? First of all, who the fuck are you to question me about what my thread is about? Second, I'm asking for jetting help because I'm installing all of this new shit all at once!! 33mm PWK's w/pods UPP cross-over intakes VF4's Mull Pump Gas Head PC's w/304 silencers Sorry for asking for help in my own thread... fucking dick!!

What elevation? I'm at sea level. Brandon from Mull told me that with stock ports and his pump gas head my motor should be right around 155psi +/-5psi of compression. I hope it's closer to 150psi cause all I have is 91 craptane. I might have to pull a degree or two of timing if there are any signs of deto...

If you do go to 30's, set your airscrews to 2 turns out, needle clip middle groove and 300 mains. Adjust airscrews to get a crisp off idle snap and do a proper plug chop to verify main jetting isn't too rich. Of course non of this matters if your air filter isn't clean, carbs aren't sync'd. With your finger, put some motor oil on your new reed gaskets to soften them up. Use blue loctite on the reed cage screws and never use really sticky sealant that requires scraping or wire wheeling the shit off of soft aluminum like the reed cage sealing surfaces. Ultimately you should also do a leakdown test to guarantee you do not have any air intake leaks.

Word around the campfire is VF4's like a fat pilot. I'd go to a 27.5 pilot, needles 4th groove from blunt end, and 300 mains. If you're currently 1/2 turn out on your airscrews, you should be running 27.5 pilots. Put the VF4's in with 1/2 a turn on the airscrews and 27.5 pilots and see if you can lean it out to at least 1 turn out and not have an off idle lean bog when you crack the throttle open. If the carbs want 1/2 a turn or less step up to 30 pilots.

Anything to bump up the compression and help make combustion more efficient is always a plus in power. Advancing the timing to +4 on your bike is going to give you more snap and response with more torque and power. Have you done a compression test on your motor after the Mull engineering had install?

Looking for jetting starting point with above mods at sea level.I've got the following jets and needles: 48-55 pilots 150-160 mains CEL and CGL needles Tyler mentioned this in another thread I started.
-
I wondered about that, thanks for the heads up!!

Call Brandon at Mull and ask him.(316) 992-6984

I'll know in a couple weeks, but my entire set-up is going to be different.
-
SweetYou get a chance to run it yet?
-
This is what you get from Mull Engineering... Pretty sweet if you ask me!! I'm hoping for a decent boost in power over a stock head. Switching the setup in anticipation of the Redline Serval build coming this summer. Gonna run 33mm PWK's w/pods, UPP cross-over intakes, VF4's, Mull Pump Gas Head and PC's w/304 silencers in Pismo for Memorial Weekend.

What bike is good for the wife?

Yup, I was 13 and my first ride was a 1986 LT250R Quadracer! Learned a lot of hard lessons with that bike. Not mine just pulled it down from google. -
Cool, now buy my pro taper bars...

How soon do you need unported 64mm cylinders? I could have a virgin set ready to ship out June 1st.
