Whats a good fuel mix to run? I have been running Klotz R50 sythetic before the build. I was thinking run a few tanks full with mineral oil mix but not sure what ratio to run? 20:1 maybe on the first tank?

My motor is a 4mm stroker long rod, dune porting by redline racing, cool head with three different sizes of domes, FMF fatty gold pipes w/powercores, 35mm airstryker carbs, vito's intakes, and boysen reeds. My question is what timing advance should I run? Keep in mind I ride high altitudes from 4000ft up 11,000ft. I see commonly on here +4, I talked to packerd racing from nearby Utah and he said run +7. Would like to see what everyone thinks. Thanks

Not a cub. It's a 4mm long rod stroker.

I am hoping to have my quad together by Sat night for a ride on Sun. What is the best way to make sure everything is ok on the fresh motor before I start it and also when I do start it. Is it best to kick start the new motor or go the lazy route and have someone pull start ya? What is the best break in procedure for it? I have always been of the school to take it easy on it for a good heat cycle and then ride it like you want to ride it always. But I have never had this much $$$ into a motor before either nor such a high HP motor. Thanks all in advance.

I am working on a 4mil long rod right now. I am hoping to have her up and running this weekend. been a long time waiting but I will tell ya, if you are patient you can build the stroker for relatively cheap by getting parts off of here and Ebay. Bad thing is though your moving to another level and you will need all that goes with that. Things like heavy duty clutching, carbs, head, domes, ect ect ect. Mine is also ported thugh.

You could also try the Gecko's by Kenda. Suck in the dunes for racing but are a reallt tough paddle tire. here is a link to them: kenda Skat trak also makes a paddle called the dessert storm that I think would work very well for ya. link: skat trak

Now were talking bout something I do know LOL. Its called the Mini Desert track. EXCELLENT tires for your application. These tires are fully molded so the paddles are not glued on and are much more durable than the extremes. I will only run STU paddles on any of my bikes. Here is a link for ya: STU tires

Bearing clips on crankshaft and countershaft?
DemonShee replied to DemonShee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
So is the oring on the bearing itself or are you meaning the case seals with the o-rings that are next to the bearing? I hope you mean the seal because there isnt an o-ring on the bearing itself right now and I would have to dorder one. Thanks for your help cd -
Well I am still working on the motor. I am about to put the two cases together and noticed on the bearing clips for the crankshaft and the countershaft in the tranny that there is only one clip (half moon shaped) per bearing. If I am reading the manual right these go in the botton case. Does this sound right to you guys? Also on the flywheel side of the cranckshaft, the bearing doesnt have a positioning pin. Is that normal? My crank is a hot crank or whatever they are called in the 4mil stroker longrod with the TZ bearing upgrade. Sorry for all these questions but this is my first time building a shee motor and I dont want to mess it up.

Marring cases, what sealer? PLEASE HELP QUICK
DemonShee replied to DemonShee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Thanks for the replies everyone. I found a sealer by loctite that sounds like what cd is talking about. Its labeled as the #2 and says to use where a seal is needed but adhesion isnt as important and is semi-drying or whatever. I am going to give this stuff a whirl. -
I really need a quick answere on my question there . Thanks a million.

I am about to marry the top and bottom case halves. In the manual it states to uses yamabond but the yammy shop is closed. What other sealers can you use? Small bead of RTV is what I was thinking????

DemonShee replied to DemonShee's topic in General Banshee Discussion

I need the following items: coolhead that will accept the Prodesighn domes adjustable timing plate Clymers manual gasket kit for total motor rebuild New lower steering stem bearings/bushings (whatever they are called) FMF pipe seals 10" of o-ring chain and masterlink I think thats it for now, I know some of this will have to get new but thought I would ask first and help my fellow BHQ'ers out.

Well the fun could be over before it really even starts. I am in the middle of my banshee build and a offer has came along and I think i might just do it. I came across a Polaris Scrambler 4x4 that has been just slightly modified. Ok J/K its been ALOT modified. It has a SkiDoo Summit 670 motor in it. For those not familiur with this motor, it is a liquid cooled 2 stroke twin cylinder 670cc motor that utlizes rotary valves. It is rated at 130hp STOCK. I have a 99 Summit 670 sled right now that is 150+hp. So imagine this, a lightweight (for a 4x4) 4x4 that runs at 130hp with tons of torque, a wide powerband, no shifting gears, just gas and hold on. The Scrambler chassis isnt my favorite but there are some good upgrades that can be done that really make it a worth while machine. It does already have a +4 swingarm on it. The reason I am thinking this will be a better quad for me is I do alot of mountain trail riding along with going to the dunes. Throw some paddles on her, disconnect the 4wd and I think it would be a mean mean quad on the dunes. The best part is, I am in my Shee a total of $2500.00 and the guy want to trade me streight across for it. The reason being he cant pull start the 670 anymore due to a sholder injury and he has a employee that will buy my Shee. I guess the buyer has a Bruteforce for the Mtns and wants a all out dune machine for his second ride. Thw worst part is we will have to exxchange them over the canada border and that can be a real pain in the ass! Check the for sale section, I need some parts quick!

Rogan kinda sucks as an anouncer. He doesnt realize it but he picks favorties bigtime. Just like you said about Diez. If they gave that fight to Diez I was going to go off!! Diesel lost the first round but after that he won hands down. I laughed my ass off though when Rogan got schooled by the judges. I was really impressed with that one really big guy that won with that opposite direction arm choke. He looked like he could tear some heads off. Randy was doing really well at first, looked really sharp and got in some good moves and shots on Chuck, I thought hmmmm might go to the forth or fifth. To bad Randy slipped but you have to hand it to Chuck, he watches for any mistakes then capitalizes on them big time.
