  1. Well, I guess you could get some reeds, and maybe an adjustable timing plate. Your next big gain is going to come from porting though. And if your going to spend the money for v forces, hell you might as well spend a little more and port it instead. Taking the tors off is more "preventing a future pain in the ass" than really getting any kind of a gain. It's just prone to failure which will cause un neccesary headaches.
  2. Definatly a good score for the money. You should be able to make a decent turn around on that one.
  3. I'm not an expert by any means, but I would say Cotton's theory sounds like the logical place to start. I'd deffinatly look for air leaks as your first step. Also I haven't heard of tors causing the engine to rev higher... only preventing you from being able to rev it higher. If you have an air leak you deffinatly don't want to be running it with out fixing that first.
  4. I have the shredders and I don't reccomend them. Mine are wearing quickly, and have punctured to easily.
  5. That's cause you need practice. Find the balance point instead of just relying on the bikes engine to keep you up. A shorter swing arm isn't going to improve anything if you still aren't getting it up high enough to balance it.
  6. Yeah, I'm married!! or maybe it should be
  7. Once again you will need to talk to them. If you tell them your elevation and other mods (as dlnoss said) and let them know you want to run a certain percent race gas to premium mixture, they will be the ones to tell you what size domes you need to run with their head in order for it all to work together.
  8. Ceck the shipping before you get to excitied. It may just be my location, but I figured hell I need new bars and grips, why not try those. For $15 if they suck it's no big deal... Well for the bars and grips ($20 for both) the shipping alone was $24! I live in alaska it may be different for you, I'm just saying I'd check the shipping cost first. I just checked the shipping to my mom's house in Cali, it was like 7 something, I gues it's just cause I'm in alaska
  9. I think they are an awsome quad for a kid. Not to mention they have potential to be modded as the kid improves. As far as the price goes that's going to vary conciderably based on condition and location. I'd just look around in you local classified ads and stuff. They are a very common bike, I'm sure you won't have a problem locating one for a reasonable price.
  10. IMO the seat of the pants meter is more important than the dyno. So if your smiling like an idiot when you ride it then be happy. Also, like dawarriorman said, you have a very usable power band that's something in it's self.
  11. haha
  12. Your port and pipes wouldn't require you to use a higher ocain fuel, however you should run premium anyway so your dad is right in having you run it. Do a search on here regarding the vito's pistons that has been disussed more than a few times. People seem to have varying oppinions on them, but if I remember right I believe they are designed for stock porting. Like I said search for "vito's" and you should find some info on them.
  13. thanks
  14. I'm looking to take my overflow bottle off. I've searched and found quite a bit of info on it, but I don't see anywhere where it says what to do with the other hose? The overflow gets routed to the bottom of the frame, but what about the other one... Im guessing it's a return line
  15. Being a total non computer person, I'm lost as to what is so exciting about this my space thing. Granted most of the people signed up to see pictures of Brooke, but aside from that exactly what do you do on my space? I have no clue what it is, and I'm wondering if I'm being left out of something good here.
  16. I'm by no means an expert of any kind, but I think Upgrading your radiator would be a good idea. Someone tell me if I'm wrong, I don't want to suggest he spend his money somewhere that it's not really needed, but the cooling system is a weak point on the shee.
  17. Buff bought a scooter??!!
  18. that's funny as hell
  19. Is it bad when you do it two times with a calculator and get the same wrong answer both times?
  20. Are you sure it's yellow potatoes? I hear a lot of people are running sweet potatoes now days... less friction.
  21. I was thinking mx bike
  22. Let us know what you think of em.
  23. I'm really not sure how much that would run, someone may show up on here before too long that would have a better idea than me. I think it would be more expensive that it is worth. As far as the porting though give jeff at F.A.S.T. a call. Everyone is very impressed with his work and his service. He goes by fastoys on here. His # is 785-364-5325. Also Jim at Passion RE 918-232-3950
  24. the price of having your engine ported will depend on who does it and what type of porting you have done. Figure maybe $250 to $500 plus. You really need to talk to a builder about what you are looking to use your engine for, that way they can reccomend a port job that compliments your riding style and current mods. As far as polishing the outside of the cylinders I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying strip the finish off the jugs and polish them out?
