After about three weeks of running my new banshee (it's an 03') the top end went out. It had "new pistons" I'm guessing the guy who put the new pistons in had no idea what he was doing, or maybe he re-ringed a sh*tty piston and sold it. Either way, I'm the guy who bought it, and I now have the thing tore apart and am about to put a new top end on it. Just out of curiosity what can I do to it that will make an impact on it H/P wise that I can do at home? Polish stuff with my dremel? I've heard some way of doing a timing advance at home, is this worth doing? Is it a risky thing to try for an amature? Also, while it's apart would it be worth it to get the head shaved? I live in alaska right now (army) and the gas sucks. I don't want to cause detonation and fry my engine.
