i thought stock compression is 135 oh well it doesn't matter i think we are going to rebuild it. one more thing i thought of he went from running straight 91 to mix 91/111 could this result in a rich condition

ok i did a compression check both cylinders are at 120. it has a cool head but not sure what size domes. even if it had stock head probably time for rebuild isn't it. i think i fixed the top end misfire one of the plugs caps was almost screwed off. it doesn't miss on topend any more but the low end still sucks really bad it just acts like it has no power.

i run valvoline max life 10w40 it seems to work fine. i think if run any good oil you will be fine if you change it when you should. i hear you should change it about every 3-4 rides but i am too lazy to do this.

he has fmf sst's with stock carbs and a k&n with the lid removed. his main jets are 270 with air screw 1.5 turns out. i don't know what the clip is on because the carb tops would not come off. lets see i think that is it... its got reed spacers and a cool head not sure of size of dome oh and a boost bottle.

ok there is something deffinatly wrong with my brothers shee. here recently it boggs really bad when trying to drag race you have to hold it wide open and dump the clutch for it to take off hard. you can still just ease out on the clutch to take off normal. then if you try to pin it in every gear and shift you know like you do when you race it pulls fine through the middle but when you get to the top it just missis like crazy(spits and sputters and sometimes backfires). now we haven't changed any jetting and it ran fine for about 3 weeks so it is not lean. i need to check the compression but haven't got a gauge yet. the low end and top end suck really bad. is it time for a top end? also what is the gap supposed to be between the flywheel and the pickup coil?

yeh you can't beat the traction of a 4 stroke. i got smoked by a kfx 700 at little sahara that was on the bottle.MAN DID THAT FLY! i hear you though i will always have my 2 stroke, not saying i won't buy a 450 one day.

sounds like t me the cross over tube isn't your problem. i don't use one and mine runs fine. have you checked to see if it is firing correctly?

That is why i love to drag on pavement.

raced a yfz 450 for the first time on pavement last night. The guy was talkin bunch of shit pretty much like all 4 choke guys . it was cool though we are freinds. Well we raced maybe 500 feet. i thought he would stay close for little while but it was over from the beginning i beat him about 5-6 bike lengths it was awesome, and the shit talking quit.

i start in first in all terrain (sand,dirt,and asphalt) with 17/41 gearing. i love to hold her open for ever and feel the wind try to rip me off.

i have +4 swinger from GRR and i love it keeps the front end down and still seems to turn fine to me. it seems to be holding up fine no cracks or braking sounds like you just got a shitty deal man.

4th gear takeoffs with stock gearing. i don't see any possible way. if you can do that what does it do when you take off in first or second. By the sounds of it it should blow the tires up with all your power.

so if it is heads up racing how do they divide the full blown dragsters from something like what i ride. its not a fair race if one bike runs a 4.2 and another runs a 5.7 i am just confused

with your setup and riding style i would go with the t5s. i don't know how well rockets do in the trails, my guess would be you would have to keep her reved up. i run rockets and love them, but all i ride is dunes and drags on the weekends. But it is your decision.
