Build Almost Completed Tell Me What You Think
trex banshee replied to xLastShotx's topic in Banshee Appearance
oh i see, well that still really sucks about buyin all that shit. So if you do still have a key for it then that aint the problem. Just make sure your coil is grounded good and then see if you can get any spark -
haha here he is again. what happened to all his strong words he was using in his other post?? Hey Ellison, I have seen vids of you ridin on youtube and here I think you could learn something from this guy on how to ride a wheelie :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:

Build Almost Completed Tell Me What You Think
trex banshee replied to xLastShotx's topic in Banshee Appearance
ok, if you have checked your pickup coil and it is set at .018, then you should be good to go from there. Now since you got the frame painted or powdercoated you need to sand the frame to bare metal where your coil mounts, this must have a good connection or you will not get adequate spark. Another thing if you do not have a key anymore you need to make sure that the red and brown wires are connected(some harnesses are red and black i believe). As long as you unplug everything from the tors you should be good to go. Make sure you are getting fuel. Where are you located? I would be really pissed if i were you and that shop made you spend all that money on un-needed parts. -
Same thing i was thinking, haha i would like to see this guy check his compression by hand! :yelrotflmao:

allright cool man, glad you got it figured out.
-
right on there, 64x54
-
yeah you are right, everyone has there ways, good point.

good points made here. everything is very true, also on the twice as much oil, there is only i believe a couple oils that will mix with alky. I run Casor 927 and that shit at the shops around me is like $8.27 for 16 oz! In my stock motor i run HP2 which is only like $5.25 for 16 oz. NYUK was right on with the top end thing for your first try, I experienced this and it sucked. Running alcohol isn't cheaper like stated earlier, yes the fuel is cheaper a gallon but you use twice as much(already stated, i know) twice as much oil (already stated I know) and then you have to get your carbs converted, that cost me $100 at GRR. then a pingel which is another $100. timing plate if don't already have one, different domes. and the list goes on and on depending on the level you want to go to.
-
When i made the switch to alky I could tell you huge difference on how it ran, both performce and temps. but my tank of gas under hard riding, will only last about 45 minutes. I didn't invest in any high dollar purge system either i just take the tank off and drain it every time, it doesn't bother me. And for price it is close to Jeff, I think I paid 110 dollars for a 55 gallon drum, so 2.00 a gallon. That was last summer though.
-
well that sucks but atleast you found your problem, before you put it back together you need to put bigger jets in it to prevent this from happening again.
-
can you get some pics of the porting? Are you sure it is even for trail riding? Everything else sounds to be good, except for the carbs you want, now they may work but 35's are for of a top end motor.
-
i take it you have stock pipes?? I hope you do cause if you have pipes and a 230 main, your problem is probably a hole in the piston, running too lean. you need to list everything that has been done to your bike, so we can help you more.

Cleanest 98 Banshee you'll ever see
trex banshee replied to john97z28's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
I love this bike, if I had the money I would buy it in a heart beat. The colors, chrome, tires, wheels, pipes, I don't know there just isn't one thing i don't like about it. Good luck on your sell man. Well worth 4,300 in my mind. -
hey thanks man but we are going to look at one in St. Joe this saturday but if it doesn't work out I will look into this one more, Thanks for the info though.

Parting out Banshee motors T-Rex kit
trex banshee replied to Droppedbagged72's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
does the trex have any porting done to it at all?? -
I am looking for a honda 450R or a yfz 450 in pretty good shape, preferrably pretty new aswell. I know its a banshee site but i have seen them on here before. It is for one of my cousins, looking for something under $4000. It also needs to be somewhat close to Missouri. My zip is 64080

you will have to buy a new cable, cause the stock cable is meant to thread into the tors box, where the cable you need once you put the different tops on will be like any other cable and just slide through the carb topper.
-
I have seen them run with and without the idle screws. They are intended to run with them, otherwise if you just adjust your idle with the screw on the top of your carb top you are taking all the slack out of your cable and when you do that it is possible that when you turn your bike to the right as far as it will go it will cause the bike to rev up. (not good) So yes Firehead it will run properly and you can adjust the idle without the screws but not the correct way and not the safe way. Oh also Firehead if you haven't done the idle screw installment before you are gonna have to sand your carb body down some so the jam nut on the idle screw will sit against the carb flat. The carbs from stock have an agled face and all you have to do is make it flat. From your previous posts on here I know you shouldn't have a problem with this, I was just giving you the heads up if you didn't already know.

that is what i thought and here is a pic of mine i think they are the same arms.
-
I voted for the candy blue, it would look the best in my opinion. But yeah I guess i am bias also. When I really think about it any color and white looks good to me I like my brothers purple frame alot, and now my cousin is buying a shee so no tellin what color we are gonna use. But Red I would go with the blue!

thanks for the replys guys but i am going to look at a banshee tomorrow. If for some reason it doesn't work out I will let you know.
-
Hey man I might be wrong, I had a set of arms like that on my bike for a while, but I think you have the top ones on the wrong sides.
-
I replied to your PM man.
