  1. pretty touchy! no downshifting even at rolling speed. I have no problem with this though, don't know why but when i get on it it just seems like second nature to know not to downshift...the only reason why i have had any problems with it is because the whole rule where you are not supposed to let off and get right back in it....yeah i kinda do that opposite of that, me and shift forks don't get a long! Greg did some kind of trick welding on mine this time and he said that they should be good to go.
  2. well if mine were to do that and you making it rich makes it worse then i would put a smaller main jet in it than the 150..just keep in eye on your plugs but i have experienced and engine way too rich will also cause a sort of a pop cause it just can't burn it all guess thats the symptoms of a fouled plug but Id go leaner until the miss goes away while keeping an eye on your plugs like already stated. Im guessin you already replaced the plugs?
  3. you would be right if the bike was just idleing....however the post stated that the guy was riding it and it ran out of gas and now it is locked up...go run your bike out of gas at wide open and let me know how it goes
  4. Ive got the 1-6 from greg and i love it, and ive beat the crap out of it....i would try out the 1-6 duneable in a heartbeat, Greg is a great guy and will stand behind his work.
  5. try going up on your main..you say its fine but sounds like to me it wants more fuel.
  6. damn you better be ready to spend some money then. Earlier you said trinity is overpriced...and i completely agree with you but now you say your gonna buy that 635 trex kit...you do realize that 1800 doesn't include a crank or any of the machine work need to put it together, or any port work. I think you should do a little more research. Id bet that you would be more than happy with a very aggresive dune ported stock cylinder bike. WCR cuts a damn good duneable tranny. 1-5 with nuetral down is a very popular tranny.
  7. The override transmission will help out a TON but...you are not going to want a 1-6. By you describing what kind of rinding you do your going to need a duneable tranny. If you were to get a 1-6 you have to come to a complete stop to downshift it. Lock ups are mainly for engines producing more than 90 horses i believe...its to keep the clutch engaged under hard acceleration and lots of power and yes you can run them with straight cut gears...straight cut gears are easier on your crank, from what i have read and been told...i still run the oem style so im not educated on them very much yet. Timing plates are to adjust the timing of your spark, you advance it to gain more power and this is determined on your fuel your running, exhuast duration, elevation, and compression.
  8. haha thats funny! Best cheater always wins!!
  9. Jeff is definitly the man! He has helped me out numerous times and some of them when i was in a bind and needed the parts asap...they seem to always show up that next morning.
  10. nope ive never done a hillshoot before, the only dunes i have been to are LS in oklahoma and their arent any like the one in your video.
  11. holy cow! something was definitly wrong...You would think that the people who designed the cylinders would have been able to set you up the right way and make them run like they should have but who knows....Im sure HJR will get you satisfied with a good running engine and you will be more than happy. 13/41...god i just can't believe it! thats low...
  12. Dasa aka Racers Edge is the creator of the cylinders i believe. Well atleast that is where i have always bought my parts from until here recently i get them from Jaff at FAST because he is a racers edge dealer and he saves me a little on parts. http://www.teamracersedge.com/yamaha-banshee.htm
  13. i see, something is up with the porting or jetting cause i couldn't do much riding on mine without the front end coming up with the stock swingarm. I had a 4 over on mine when i duned it alot and 17/41 gearing and it was a monster down low with the powervalves still active.
  14. Is that a stock swingarm? Also was there any porting done to the cylinders at all?
  15. Mine fit like a damn glove! All the holes lines right up, i do however have to get some type of rubber in between the mount and peg though before i do much more riding.
  16. trex is old school stuff, they are still made and sold but the port layout isn't quite as advanced as that of the cubs, but they can be made to run, just a lot of work has to be done. They can be comparable to a cub but like i said everything has to be right,(setup and all that jazz) it takes alot more money too, everything is specifically for the trex. Dasa has a patent on the pistons and they are 250 bucks a set. The head is special and the intakes are from a 95 yz 250. They have powervalves which is really good when the cylinders are being used for a low end situation, ive got mine locked open though. gaskets are kinda pricey too.
  17. yeah my 12's are stamped in and the 8.5's were free hand engraved. Id try them sure, but i really doubt my engine will be coming apart anytime soon.
  18. Im gonna have to be the first to say i would get the honda. I like my cousins alot and i ride it alot so its honda for me.
  19. nope ive never tried the 10's...just the 12's and 8.5's.
  20. yeah i did switch carbs too, i bought jeffs 39's...i didn't change the jetting at all from when he had them and the powerjets are all the way out. It seems richer than last year to me. Matt told me to get SB, he said im right on the verge but he recommended the small bore.
  21. I would say that would be classified as more of a very minor cleanup port job...hardly anything is cut IMO.
  22. yeah i also have some 8.5cc but my bike doesn't like to run with high compression. When i put it back together all fresh on saturday, it was 150 on both sides with the 12cc domes. Alot goes into this, you see my bike has alot of exhuast duration, so i crank the timing up to 10, low compression and then the alcohol it all seems to work together really well. Some reason you put much more than 150 to it and it won't pull on the top at all. With my 8.5's it was like 200 or something like that.
  23. i know, i am really happy with the way they look on their, they kind of made my bike look short again. Im not real sure on the performance part though, its been a while since ive rode it but it is either i am not shifting fast enough cause i got on it the other day and the pipe quit reving in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th before i shifted it...who knows. Like i said i haven't ridin it in a while and it definitly goes through the gears faster than my other one.
  24. i have no idea what kind of power they made. Last year with 35's and rockets i could beat some cubs depending on who built it and their setup of course. Now this year i have more porting, 39's, and the shearers so we will see how it goes. oh and my cylinders were bought by the guy who owned my bike before me, and i bought it in 03
  25. These three are my brother on it. Here is me at LS.
