I kinda figured as much....I was wondering how a piece of straight, flat metal was supposed to help the performance. It wasn't twisted or tweaked in any way to manipulate the airflow into the carbs.

Here's a link I got from denniskirk.com http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_cata...Id=11102&mmyId=

I was wondering if any one here has bought the POWER NOW valves that go in line with the carbs. Not sure if I have th ename right but it the things that are circular and have a piece of metal going horizonally throught the center of it. They claim better air flow and lower and higher RPMS which in turn give more HP etc. I wonder with the $100 price tag on them if they are really worth all that.

How do you like the pressure suit? I have been thinking of getting one but haven't yet. Is it hot or is it ventilatedwell?

I could be wrong but if the cylinder walls looked good and weren't screwed up in any way you shouldn't HAVE to bore to the next size. If the walls were good they could hone them out just to make everything nice and smooth.

I have the Boyesen Carbon pro series reeds and I like them. haven't had any problems yet.

Before I get in to my question I did a search and found all the topics discussing chains so for some of you who will want to say "do a search....." I already did and didn't find an aswer to my question. Here my is my question. When I cleaned my chain on my shee I pulled off the master link and an oring fell off. i didn't think anything of it until I went to put it back on and found it had 2 broken orings at the master link. Do I need to buy an new chain or not? The chain and sprocket wear look pretty good. I don't see any significant wear on anything in the drive components. If a new chain is needed what do I get? I mainly ride the local MX track and will be doing some sand riding once I get my other quad up and running. I did the search and read all the topics and read what everyone's opinions and personal thoughts were on all the chains out there but nothing really on the types of riding people do. Don't get me wrong everyone had good points to think about when going to buy a chain. Where I live it is dry and not at all humid(no moisture in the air, just in case people didn't know what humid meant). The track is bone dry, no track watering system. Do I really need a o/x-ring chain or will a non oring chain work. The only chains I have dealt with or non oring chains for my dirtbike and it hasn't given me any problems. Also what type of chain lube is the best non tacky lube to use. I have some stuff that is like glue to dirt. I sprayed in on and rode the bike 3 weeks later and I had dirt caked on the chain, yeah I was a bit pissed when I tried to clean the crap off and it was like cement. Thanks in advance.

Alright people I have have for sale a '98 CR250. The bike is in perfect running order. I have never had any mechanical problems with this thing since I have owned it. The top end has maybe 10 hours on it since new which was done and broke in right before I bought it 2 years ago. It is bored .080 over, new renthal handlebars, new front tire, Back tire has alot of meat still left on it, fairly new front/rear renthal sprockets with D.I.D. 520 non o-ring chain(maybe 5 rides on them) The Plastics are fairly new (again maybe 5 rides on them up and down my street) They are Acerbis and black in color. I have the original plastics that came with the bike when I bought it and they are black as well. The plastics have a few scratches from moving it around in my garage so I could pull out the banshee since they sit next to each other. Included in the deal is the stand, triangle stand, folding ramp, another set of plastics(mentioned above), $85 skat-trak intimidator paddle tire(never mounted), manual and anything I find that is dirtbike related. I have never really felt comfortable on the bike no matter how much I tried riding it up and down my street. This thing is extremely fast. I raced a CR500 that was piped and jetted and I was ahead by a half bike length up through 4th, once he hit 5th he pulled away from me. My room mate took this up to Sand Mountain, Nv and alot of people didn't believe him that it was a 250 because it was so fast. I am located in Hanford, Ca. about 30 minutes south of Fresno and 1.5 hours north of Bakersfield. I am asking $1600. I am willing to do trades for another banshee. I need to unload this pretty quickly.

The bank can't repo sometihng if it's not there. If they come tell them that you let one of your buddies take it on his vacation to an out of state place and won't be back for a couple weeks. In the mean time take it to someone's house and keep it there. -

If you still have this after the 30th I will be in contact with you. Have to do the wedding ceremony that day and might get in trouble if I buy it now. I'm about 3 hours south of you just outside Fresno -
DUNEDEMON... Where did you get you skid plate and what's the brand? I was passing time and came across some pics of your '97 and of course I drooled all over myself, again, and saw your skid plate kicks up in the front, which i have never seen but like. Thanks in advance.......

No, you should be ok with what you have. You will want the bigger jets the stage 3 has if you plan on getting pipes and replacing your airbox with filter pods such as K&N.

After spending some time on the banshee since getting it running and getting used to riding a quad from a dirtbike I finally got the banshee air born. I launched it off about a 90 ft table top. I had it pinned in 4th and just held on. I was surprised at how easy it was to manuever in the air. I would have thought it would have been a little harder to move around but was actually pretty easy. The landing wasn't too bad either considering the suspension is still stock. I still have a couple jumps at the track i ride that I haven't hit and one of them is the one I just about kiled myself on riding the dirtbike. The jump is a 50 tabletop followed by a double and it scares me a little everytime I try to attempt to jump it, in due time I will hit it. I should have some pics and or a video for you all next week.

Either the 270 or 280 should work, the 340 will be way too rich.

when trying to start it for the first time of the day are you pulling out the choke? Also when trying to start it are you giving it gas? Mine will not start if I have the throttle is cracked any amount. Have you tried cleaning the filter?? Is it an airbox or clamp on filters? The info you can give us about the bike the better we will be able to help you out. Congrats on the new shee

The TORS system would not affect the one cyclinder if the TORS was working like it should(electrical). Since the problem was there before and after you disconnected the TORS you can rule out the TORS. As far as the problem swapping sides when you swapped the plug wires....swap them again to see if the problem swaps sides again, if it does you may want to look at the plug wire. I may have some corrosion on the plug wires keeping it from making a good connection. Y ou may even want to look at that black box the plug wires are connected to(not sure what it's called) as a contributing factor. Cleaning out the right carb is a good idea. You might want to think of cleaning out both at the same to triple check that you aren't doing one thing different to one carb than the other. YOu may have dirt in your tank and might want to take some clean gas and rinse out your tank. Take the petcock off to make sure the filters on it are not torn letting dirt in the carbs(found mine had a hole in the petcock filters). Hope some of this helps info helps... I know that some of the stuff is being repeated but sometimes looking at someting again may reveal something you overlooked the first time.

If I was you I would take that thing out and ride it for a while if it's running ok now. Blow all that crap out of the cylinders and exaust pipes. If it runs fine the entire time th ecrap should clear up ike RNBRAD said.

How close are you to Washougal(sp?)?

As I read this it was like deja vu all over again. From the way it sounds, sounds like you are having the exact same problem I had with mine. The probelm with mine(according to the stealership) was that the needle imulsion tube in the slide was to blame. They replaced my needle from a new jet kit and that seemed to fix the problem. What they did while they had it for 2 weeks was tore off the jugs and checked to see if my pistons were damaged and just took a good look in the jugs, swapped out every imaginable component possible from a new '06, etc. Well I doubt that what they say was wrong was actually was the problem. I think what happened was that when they put everything together they fixed what ever the problem was and just didn't realize it. Mine was also firing at the bottom and top end of the RPM range and once you got like over 5mph it was like someone was flipping a switch and turning off the left cyclinder until you were in like 5th gear but I was getting spark the entire time. If I can give any advice it would be to take out the needles and swap them to see if that could be the problem, look at the slides and make sure they are in correctly( I know it's an obvious thing)...just look at all the little stuff. if you have any questions feel free to PM me or just ask them here. Here is the link to my problem.... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...topic=59587&hl=

Got any pics, if so pm me so I can give you my email address -
This may ouns weird. but swap the needles to see if that effects anything. I had the same problem with mine and supposedly it was the needle causing the problems.

I was doing a search on the net and went to ITP's website. They just released a new Holeshot SX tire for hard pack terrain, anyone heard any review on them yet? My room mate has a Raptor '01 660 that has razr 2's on it and it sitting in my garage until we get it put back together...would the lug spacing fit my 99 banshee??
