  1. what doing a compression test you want to screw in the tester all the way. On the side you are not testing pull the plug boot off and make sure it won't touch the spark plug(for safety that it won't start) you can turn on the ignition if you want. When doing the test kick the engine over until the needle stops climbing and read your psi. do the same for the other side.
  2. PM sent...I put the wrong price on accident...looked at many for sale, not trying to bargain with you on price.
  3. if you decide to part it out. I will give you my left nut for the front and rear hubs. They would be perfect for my new cheetah color scheme.
  4. Small bore/big bore?? Pics??
  5. PM sent on CPI's
  6. yeah it's a pain to work on the engine with it in the frame on the CR's. I just had to take the sub frame off and I had alot of room to work witrh. I rode a KX and a YZ and it felt like the frames would twist and bend while under full power and landing from jumps compared to my CR. It could have been my imagination though. Otherwise the KX and YZ were pretty good bikes. It also felt like the KX and YZ were a littel lighter too.
  7. Yep he still has his cub. I don't think anyone could pry that away from his dead cold fingers
  8. Took a 5 hour drive to Reno Nv(and 5 hours back) to Bansheeseat$$ and bought his 05 cheetah, talk about one hell of a guy. Gave me a run down and the do's and don'ts on the cheetah P.V. engine. Also told me the BIG differences of my semi stock 99 banshee and the cheetah engines. Once x-mas passes I will start my first build thread and post up dates as I go. The kicker is I need to find some CPI in-frame pipes for small bore application. Once I get up and moving in the morning I will take some pics. I'm gonna sleep well tonight after spending 10 hours in the seat.
  9. I personally like the CR's due to the way the frame is made and it's stronger. the KX, YZ and RM's have small round tubing and the CR have the oblong thinker material.
  10. I used the search and nothing came up besides powdercoating 101. I was waondering if anyone has used or heard about the Powdercoating gun kit by Craftsman. For $150 you can buy the kit. Gun is battery powered(I think). has all the necessary attachments etc. The different colors are $6 for 7 square feet. Jusat wondering if anyone has used this or not...It's on the Sears website as well as Craftsman website.
  11. Well I will be picking up another shee this weekend. It's a 421cc Cheetah P.V. The top end needs redone but that gives me a chance to see how it's all put together and how it works(never seen a cheetah P.V motor before). Once the Christmas is passed I'll be elbows deep in it getting it ready. Won't be able to sart her up until I get some CPI inframes(small bore application for low end/mid). I apologize for not knowing the CPI exhaust so i don't know the looks of a small/big bore in-frame set. Anyway, the the mods are a +4 round carrier swinger, hydraulic clutch, '05 black frame(not sure if it's powdercoated) black/red plastics. Once I get this in my garage and looking at it I will take pics. The engine is out of the frame and the top end is apart. Can't wait to get this thing out and running...
  12. Since I posted this topic the bike now has a new renthal R1 520 chain with new front/rear renthal sprockets. Still have the bike and still need to to really get rid of this thing. I have bills stacking up and it needs to go
  13. Did iyo uadjust your jetting after you bored it out?? I had to pyut in a bigger pilot after i bored mine out. i went from stock to a 27.5 pilot...I was having the same problem you had(or at least one of my problems) Went to the bigger pilot and now it idles like a dream. Also might want to list what engine mods you have for us to help you out better.
  14. ok I added pics for you all.
  15. Tonight I got bored at work so I went and surfed ebay. I decided to look to see just how much my Rolex watch is worth that my parents had bought me for my birthday. Well from what I found on ebay and on the internet I found that my watch is worth $4000-$5000. I was going to call them and yell at them for buying me watch that I will probably not wear as an everyday watch and for spending that much on a watch. Thought I would share that.
  16. Bought a full set of front/rear hubs and couldn't have been an easier transaction. Communication was great as well. Would do business with again.
  17. I saw this shee run when I was at Sand Mountain, Nevada. This is one of the fastest banshees I've seen in person, might be the fastest I've seen. I don't think he lost while I was watching run that day http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-Yamaha...1QQcmdZViewItem
  18. As you can see my mods in my sig.......Last week I went out for a ride on my shee and was gone for a long while. My wife came and found me and we had a bit of a race...me on my shee and her in her '01 mustang GT. Well It was a close race I lost by a car length.. She said that we were doing about 125...i only lost because i got tired of making the engine noise with my mouth......... Yeah i ran out of gas and she had to tow my ass home.... We got up to a whole 25 mph.
  19. I had power reeds in my banshee in stock cages. I then swapped them out and installed the Boyesen pro series carbon fiber reeds in the stock cages and that made a big difference... throttle response was a lot better and made the bike snappier.
  20. yeah you were running a little lean. I'm located in Hanford and I'm running 310/340 main, 27.5 pilot jet. My mods are in my sig and I run 32:1 as well. Sounds like the person you bought it from just got it running to sell not caring about the consequences.
  21. I have a 98 CR250 that's bored 80 over, New Boyesen Pro series Carbon Fiber reeds, FMF Gold series Fatty Pipe, OEM Silencer, Renthal Handle bars and front/rear Sprockets with D.I.D 520 chain, New front tire/rear tire(rarely been on dirt), New grips, All black Acerbis plastics, New front/rear brake pads, all fluids just changed(even brake fluid) Bike was just looked at by the service dept. and everything looks good. Plastics have normal wear marks from being moved around in my garage and people setting stuff on/against the bike. Bike had a new top end put in when I bought it 2 years ago and I haven't ridden it enough for a new one to be installed. The bike will out run 98% of all 250 or 450 dirtbikes with ease and will keep up with CR500's with no problem. I had it at Sand Mountain, Nv. a couple months ago and raced a few 250's and 450's and they all thought I had a CR500 when they found it was a 250 they were surorised to see how fast it was. I raced a CR500 and stayed with him until I missed 5th gear and he pulled away. The bike now sits in my garage since I bought my banshee. I only pull it out to ride up and down the street a couple times to keep it in running condition. I really need to get this off my hands due a cheetah P.V. banshee that's for sale that came to my attention just recently and I REALLY want it. Included in the sale is a extra full set of black Acerbis plastics, Skat Trac Intimidator 8 paddle sand tire(currently installed on bike), bike stand, rear triangle bike stand, extra set of clutch/brake levers, Fly folding ramp, manual, and anything I can find that goes with the bike. Bansheeseat$$ and FAST500#12 have seen the bike when I was at Sand Mountain. I am asking $1600 for the bike and everything included I listed above. I'm located in Central Cali and will be willing to drive to deliver for a minimal fee(we can discuss that if you're serious about buying). If you know anyone interested let me know or have them get in contact with me. thanks When I replaced the overflow tubes on the carb, installed the boyesen reeds and performed overall general maintenance on the bike what it looks like now The other set of plastics and stand included
  22. I want the rear hubs if yyou still have them...do you have the front hubs? Would like tjhose too if you are selling them...Oh crap will these fit a '99?
