  1. the way i did mine was i got an automotice gauge from walmart, went to a plumbing shop and got a 3/4inch iron T, think that was the size, the gauge from walmart came with pieces to screw into the T, did thatwrapped a bit of electrical tape around it to prevent leaks , sliced the line coming from the head strapped each end onto the T, clamped er down and never had any leaking problems
  2. maybe its overheating? and your not realizing it, got a temp gauge on it?
  3. Anybody ever paint their own rims? Im kinda thinking about it but i think its going to get chipped all to shit after a ride what were your results? type of paint? thanks
  4. i had this problem too, so i blocked up my back end and checked it out get the back tires in the air and start it up, put it in gear and get it going, check to see if its wobbling, take your tires off and check again if its still shaking its a bent hub or axle, but if its steady could be a flat spot or a rim mine ended up being a slightly tweaked axle
  5. i claim hes trying to make some extra coin off of you, he CAN get it setup right with an airbox but hes not lieing, clamp on filters will give you some gains for duning put on some outerwears and youll be slingin sand with no worries
  6. dont use a 210 in a mikuni, that guy has a keihin carb much different than a mikuni 210 in a mikuni is only one size bigger than stock, youll be super lean i would say get a 500 main, thats as big as mikuni jets get i think and go from there
  7. I have never jetted a keihin carb so i have no idea where to even start ive only used lectrons and mikunis, 180ish maybe no clue on the pilot? but im going to change from my single lectron to a single 38mm keihin with a clamp on filter, then ill be running stock ported reed cages, mild clean up port on stock cylinders, fmf gold series pipes, +4 timing, 21cc domes, lightened flywheel, at sea level thanks
  8. thankyou thats what i was lookin to hear pre filter should keep the filter pretty clean
  9. anybody ever run a clamp on pod filter for mx racing? does it get clogged up on some of the sloppier tracks? im thinking about doing it I wanna get rid of my single 40mm lectron and put in a keihin and a clamp on, nobody will send metering rods to Canada and my bike is running a bit lean now so i need something i can change the jets in, my power jet is turned all the ways out thanks
  10. would grayish indicate detonation?
  11. mods im running fmf gold series pipes, modquad head with 21cc domes, mild port, ported stock reed cages, motofast 2 into 1 carb wth 40mm lectron, +4 timing, lightened flywheel, K&N
  12. my dream has always been to stuff a banshee motor in a 250R frame
  13. damn detonation i didnt wanna see that word come up im running 21cc domes and +4 timing on 91, its real close when a bike detonates shouldnt it get really really hot though? my bike was running nice and cool 130-160 all day
  14. its never done it before which confused the hell outta me and ive had the head for over a year now with lots of ride time on it plugs looked fine color nothing wrong, and i run a 2 into 1 carb so both cylinders should be equal seemed strange
  15. I was ripping down a road today 6th gear wide open hanging her out pretty good bike was running really well then all of a sudden it went from a BAAAAH BAH BAAAAH to a BLAH BLAH BLAH it sounded and felt exactly the same as the time i blew a piston so i feared the worst and was pissed, then i looked and noticed my left spark plug had completely came out of my head and was just hanging there on the coil i put it back in, bike fired right back up and was fine for the rest of the day now my question is ive heard that modquad heads are notorious for plugs coming loose, but wouldnt it be more less the domes fault since its the dome that the plug actually screws into? and what would cause a plug to come loose like this? im only running 21cc domes so it shouldnt of been the compression to make it come loose or does this kinda just happen every now and then when you dont check to see if the plugs are tight before you take off thanks
  16. Your gonna want a good set of rear tires too, you can have all the power in the world but if you cant hook up its useless power, shorten up that swingarm, it can be done by yourself do a search, 18's on the back for quick acceleration, no reason to run big tires building an mx banshee gets really expensive, trust me i built a budget one and its not much of a budget once you get into it, thousands of dollars to make it competitive
  17. i have hte old school motofast 2into 1 with a 40mm lectron works wicked, might be able to find one on ebay, great place to buy parts
  18. if you cant use a twist throttle you could always switch to one carb, much easier on the thumb, my thumb used to cramp up so much now its feather easy to push it little more pricey but youll gain some bottom end outta the change too
  19. i dont know man 23's are gonna have alot of sidewall flex on them i tryed 22s for trails i found cornering brutal cuz they flexed so much, but they were razrs too, pretty soft rubber in those tires i got rid of thsoe pretty quick, but switched my bike mx and went with 19s up front i ran 18s 20s and 22s on back, found the 20s best, 22s are just to tall, luggin them around all the time, 18s are to high strung for trails, just an mx tire, 20s are probably what you should get with a 20 or 21 up front
  20. yup with the money you wasted on your boost bottle you could have gotten an adjustable timing plate and actually see some improvment
  21. Tors maybe? unplug the the plugs on the ghetto things on the top of your carbs 2 of them, if you have stock carbs and on your parking brake follow a wire back and unplug it as well try that and see what happens oh oh and right above you left cylinder there is a black box attached to your frame, unplug that and garbage the black box
  22. I didnt know that my computer blew so I havent been on here for like a month or more note to self though
  23. totally agree was just a thought that popped into my head just wanted to know for self knowledge purposes
  24. i have a question though how long is a 250R shock? might work with long travel arms although they are meant for a much lighter bike
  25. gorr port $250 lighten flywheel $60 shaved head... whatever that costs timing plate $35 port your own reed cages and get some carbon fiber reeds probably leave ya with some change for bling too or a tether switch or gripper seat to keep your ass on it instead of the bling
