7. If corrosion has built up and is causing your problem it's just shot. Electrical gremlins can be lots of fun.
8. On an ocilliscope you can see that it takes an initial surge or spike of electricity to jump the electrodes but once that gap is jumped the balance of the sustained kernal is at a much lower voltage. In my opinion your problem is likely in the ignition....
9. **Brand new** $60.00 (pair) shipped in the lower 48 Cut by Titan Racing for alcohol motor I paid $79.95 per pair in April
10. I've got a bunch of NGK BR9EG plugs with minutes run time on them from my 1/4 mile asphalt bike. PM me if interested in some.
11. I agree with Daves proposal. Don't need Jerry's OK - He deserves the respect of not having his original subject trashed.
12. Your right Dave. My appologies to you Jerry. My post should have gone elsewhere. Just like the Chariot products I own I've have no doubt your new bowls are top knotch. If the mods want to move or clean this thread up - Cool
13. I really doubt it's a problem with the new plugs. We race with a motorcycle guy (track champion more than once) that runs ethanol. He told me that he had to jet up when he made the switch from straight gas and again when he went to a higher concentration. IMO your running into a lean condition and thats likely whats rattling the plugs loose. Without knowing your whole setup but assuming this bike has been fine in the past I'd jet up 2 and see what happens. Good luck.
14. Being an asphalt racer I've never run long enough to actually have a plug fall out but detonation will sure loosen them up. Only seen it happen with alcohol. That pounding is real hard on parts.
15. We currently run RDZ's on our bikes and they're dry as a bone. Both leaked when we got them just like every billet bowl we've ever had. Even sanded one set on a thick piece of glass so the O-ring stood up higher but it didn't help. My son was actually the one to figure out what was happening. This fix has worked on every set I've owned including Boss. If you look close at the picture you'll notice there are two different length bolts. They are longer than stock because of the thick paper washer plus I made sure to use all the threads in the carb body. Every once in a while I run into a button head that fits a little to snug in the corner and I'll lightly dress the edge on the bench grinder for a better fit.
16. Not to take away from Jerry's (Chariot) product as I've got some of his stuff and it's all been first rate as far as quality and workmanship is concerned but I want to address the leaky bowl problem you guys are having. Over the years I've gone round and round with certian Banshee issues while building our asphalt bikes and drippy bowls is one that I finally got worked out after years of messing around. The fuel is migrating up the threads of the forward bolts in the upper plate that adapts the bowl to the carb. Our local hardware store sells small hard paper washers and stainless button head bolts that have fixed the leaking 100% of the time. I tried all kinds of things including sealers etc in the past with limited sucess but this WILL fix it. I've had no luck posting pictures in the past so if someone wants to put it up here send me an email address. Hope this helps <img src="http://bansheehq.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbsup.gif" />
17. tedder what do you run for electric and air...i ran a 12v drill type battery for my nos, that should work there but what for a air tank? We've got 12v batteries on board for ignition and shift solinoid power and #1 bottles for the air shifter tank. Smaller paintball gun cylinders work fine also.
18. Do some research before buying an air shifter. We run electric over air on our asphalt bikes but they're definetly not for everyone. It's not as simple as "pushing the button" as you put it. Under a load the gear pressure can't be overcome by the shift cylinder so it won't upshift unless you have a cut tranny or kill the ignition.
