  1. i would go up higher on the mains, you might need to hit about 320s. if that doesnt do it i would then look at the plugs caps and wires, coil,
  2. only thing i can guese at is your clutch is slipping.
  3. yep i was going to say go with bigger pilots.
  4. i have read that compression on the crank isnt as bad as the what the reverse cut gears do when your on and off the throttle. although last summer i put 19cc domes with a stock 95 crank and blew a rod bearing after about 4 months . cant blame it on the compression fully, but i think the crank would have lasted longer if it werent for the new compression.
  5. well what is the the size of main jet you are using? to me it sounds lean, but you said the plugs were brown. from my experience a continuos bog was lean and a rev limiter type of bog was rich. you may want to also check out the plug wires, caps. make new ones out of auto wires and new caps.
  6. hey what kind of problems are you having with the carbs?
  7. I run the paul turner mids on mine and she runs great. althought i would like to see what a set of fattys etc would do. what kind of air filter setup do you have? what jets were you running in the 30s? i had 50 pilots, clip up from richest, and 170-180s. i didnt know if the mid pipes would respond well to big carbs so i stuck to the smaller side, plus i didnt want to loose an ounce of lowend, so i went with 30s. this talk about bigger carbs is killing me, if only i would have known from the start before i bought 30s. oh well though shes fast enough for me the way it is. keep on going, your getting her straightened right out. did you ever try on the dyno plugging up the intakes? i have plugs here next time out if i remember im going to throw them in.
  8. The floats are the black things. have the bowl off and turn the carbs upside down and measure from where the bowl seats to the top of the float, should be 20 to 22mm. make sure you take the bowl gasket off before measuring. and if they are out of whack, just bend them with your hand, the metal hanger they are on will bend.
  9. it has to do with the floats or the needle valve. adjust floats and clean everything.

    Gearing Again

why dont you just buy a 15 and 16 front sprocket, being that they are only about 5 dollars for titax or whatever, and see what you like??
  11. is the spring on the back side of the lever that lets the end piece pivot, and move the star messed up?
  12. wow banchetta, doesnt sound good at all. i cant get over that the carbs didnt do a damn thing. i would think you should be seeing +15-20hp increase with that crank and porting, and way more torque. sorry but it doesnt sound right to me!
  13. I havent heard of any problems with them, Why are you having some issues with them?
  14. Here is his reply to my email, "I can replace the one thats leaking for you at no charge. I had a few of these in the last batch of 100 sets that were assembled incorrectly according to my supplier. You are the 2nd or 3rd guy to mention that they had a leaking problem. I run these same carbs on my banshee and the rock! I'm sure you'll be happy with them once you get them on and run them without them giving you fits." ehhsnab, send him an email!
  15. Well the problem with it screaming wide open isnt with the idle screws. heres why, it ran with those carbs for months, just the one was always overflowing. then one day after i took the bowl off and put it back on, every time i started it up it would immediately red line. well i took the them off and went over everything and cleaned them and put them back on and they improved only slightly with the wide open issue, still overflowing fuel though and i cant run it like this, its pouring more gas out then its burning. so i put the stock carbs back on, all problems solved.
  16. i know the slides arent up, i look through the airbox and they are down. i must have an airleak but where, i went over all the boots and everything many many times. i emailed him long ago that the quality of these carbs was shit and that i couldnt stop it overflowing. today i emailed him if there was any fix, then 5mins later i rethought and emailed him that i want my money back. i wish i had the link to the ebay transaction and stuff,,,,,
  17. the float height is the same as the other carb that is not overflowing. if i get time or feel like it ill check it once again and try swapping the needles from one to the other. these carbs are brand new!!! i should be able to bolt on and go!!! save yourself and please dont buy these carbs.
  18. only 1 way to put slides in - D slides believe me its not on my part! the only thing i have heard is the routing of the gas lines but how in the f*** can that make a difference, i didnt try that but maybe ill spend 2mins trying that since i put about 40hrs into everything else on these lil fuc*'s.
  19. i was hoping something was wrong, now that you responded, nope, im out 200 bucks and have a stroker motor running stock carbs forever. i am emailing him. did you get your money back or try???? i had these like 4 or 5 months and had them on about 3months. every time i rode it, it poured gas out like a mofo, it was useless to ride. it was either the gas lines leaking where they connected to the carbs, or the carbs overflowing. either or. last time out it was overflowing so i shut it down and took the bowl off, put back together and now it wont stop running straight wide open!!!!!!! i had to get it pulled out of the woods. i freaked with these things probably 10 times now with no change at all. give me a freakin break!!!!!!!!!!
  20. WTF is with these? I bought them off of bansheeboy95 ([email protected]) and i cant get the one carb to stop overflowing????????? i have messed with these for months now. and to top it off now they are making it run wide open all the time, like i have an airleak, but i have gone over everything many times!!!!!!!! can you tell im pissed? heres one of his auctions http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=43981
  21. i had quad race bend and they werent good for me, they are high and pull back to far, after alittle while i would get cramped up. i put cr hi's on and they are great, put me in a better stance and felt way better.
  22. when its too good to be true, and on ebay, it definately is. they are doing it with old muscle cars to quads.
  23. get oil down in the cable, until it drips out the other end
  24. your going to need a main jet in the 140-170 range. id start out in the 150s-160s and see how the plugs look. and size 50 pilots should do it. and its keihin.
  25. you can't be serious? and if you are serious grow some ballz and rip all that 4joke stuff apart, now.
