  1. banchetta what do you predict your putting out hp? whats your porting like? did you ride it? with the right setup i was told i would be doing 75+hp ( CPIs and 34s). i had passion racing do the porting. he added finger ports from the intake right into the transfers. i have been running on the stock carbs because i had trouble setting up the 30s. she still ran real well though, but i am real antsy to get some more bang from the 30s!
  2. yeah its hard to say what the stroker will make of topend pipes. i still think the ptrs will be better all around. i do think there will be a considerable gain on the top, but the ptrs lowend and midrange may outweigh the lose up top. i am pleased with the way mine runs with my ptrs but i have some curriosity as to how hirevs respond. fixitrod, now you got me excited. i think i am going to attempt putting the 30s on again! i am having trouble with one overflowing. pretty sure im going to give it a shot though.
  3. cool banchetta. i would really like to throw a set of topend pipes on mine and see what happens. i wonder if the crank makes up for their lowend lose. also id like to test 30s vs 34s. i dont think my 30s are taper bored. i really wish i went with bigger carbs, but the more i think about it the 30s arent that small of a carb and maybe they will give more well rounded power vs a set of 34s.
  4. thats exactely what i needed to hear. but... i have pwk30s sitting here waiting to be put on why didnt i get 34s!!!!
  5. no point in putting a stroker crank in without porting, i would just have your crank welded.
  6. I have them they are awesome pipes. will give you an around power increase and still rip on the top. i am so glad i switched to these from the t5s, in the woods they just werent cutting it, let alone i have more fun and ride better with the pts then the t5s anywhere.
  7. i swear by paul turner mids. i have tried and rode different pipes and another good set i rode are the lrd adjustables. the mid pipes work really well with the stock carbs, i would wait before you get a 2into1 to see if you like it the way it is.
  8. the stock intakes should fit the carbs no problem.
  9. I get my boots on the carbs with alittle work, you should be able to. just get them to room temp or alittle warmer.
  10. happened to me the 2nd time i took mine out too, mine was 3rd gear. i messed with the shims though and i think that is why it happened, i put them back in the stock positions and all is well.
  11. they work well w/ mine, but i dont know if others would work better. im happy enough with mine are giving me.
  12. f**k i wish i would have bought 34s instead of 30s. maybe i can sell them?? keihins pwk30s.
  13. Hey im ready. I think late may early june would be nice.
  14. i had a passion stroker since october. stock carbs can be used but im guesing they hold a lot back.
  15. I dont know i never cut the springs
  16. I took a dremel with a sand paper wheel or grinding stone to the outside edge of the spring from top to bottom to thin the spring out. some people also cut their springs down.
  17. I have stock banshee shocks
  18. $25 for the 18s
  19. I used the same wires that my dad has on his SBchevy. Work fine. I snapped that holder so I just siliconed them in and put zip ties around.
  20. One day my friend said he got a new quad, a banshee, i knew what they were and that they were fast but didnt know anymore. (well it was ported with lrd's i learned later) well i meet him with my old utility and thought it was pretty cool. so after watching him ride i wanted to try it. he didnt go all out on it since he was also new to it. thinking it couldnt be that fast, i twisted full throttle out in 1st and was immediately shooting straight up, i rode it for a few more minutes doing fishtails and he wanted it back. the feeling was nothing less then crazy. i knew i had to get one, all that adrenaline was pumping through me for months until i finally got one. i got one, and i think this one will be kept with me forever, its hard to believe how much more speed you want/make out of a stock banshee. SICK!
  21. hey Jim, Im having second thoughts on the pwk30s, from reading some of these posts it seems 34s are the only way to go. what would the differences be between 30s and 34s? by the way im waiting till spring to put the 30s so i havent tried them yet.
  22. - no i traded my stock shock plus cash. 89 - the shock was recently rebuilt/revalved/resprung. im going to have to adjust everything on it since it seems everything is alittle to lightly adjusted for me. thanks for all the help guys.
  23. i have 6inches now with 35s and can fit bigger on mine. you can fit the 39.5s with 6 and 3, and also turn your tbars up high for about an extra 2" out of the lift (will compensate ride and flex), get bigger blocks if the kit doesnt come with the 5.5" and get add a leafs. or do a shackle flip with add a leafs, or get custom springs. then trim if they rub. what lift kit are you going with? 39.5s is real big for a 1/2ton!! are you replaceing the rear axle with a 14bolt? are you regearing? what do you plan to do with the truck? how much do you drive? my truck has enough trouble with 35s, the most im going on it is 36s unless i do something about the ifs and steering.
  24. " . " the rear shock rises pretty quick from what I can tell and compared to my old shock. It seems like it compresses more quickly too when I get on the quad. And I notice when I peg the gas she squats more in the back and the fronts pull up about 2inches of travel. What happens when you have the compression turned down to far?
  25. Do I turn it clockwise or counter for less rebound? I forgot to mention, every now and then when jumping I feel the rear shock bottom, can this be adjusted with the nut above the spring? or do I use the dial on the rez, compression? thanks for the help guys. by the way how wide are your shees with +2 aarms if you happen to know off hand.
