  1. The clutch arm pulls out easily. no mushrooming. the pushrod and ball are stuck in the "out position" Magnet isn't cutting it. I have used both a telescoping magnet and a punch with a magnetic base with 200lbs of pull on it. NO BUENO gonna have to split the freaking case to fix it. Good news is my friend has a spare motor on his bench he is gonna loan me for the weekend. Just hope it holds together. I am gonna ride my ass of this weekend. Gonna split the case and press the ball out with a hydraulic press. Then i am gonna ream the hole to get any smeared metal out of it. Put it back together and its all good. Thanks for all the info.
  2. Oh yeah i can see it. Its in there and the clutch side of the ball is flat. I realized after looking at my spare bottom end that the basket didn't hold it. That sucks! I am going to glamis this weekend! I have several long drift punches and a big ball peen. lets see if i can knock it loose. Hmmm maybe just buy some 66mm pistons and put the drag engine together and dune it.
  3. Ok on the way up olds shifting from 3rd to 4th I lost any trans engagement. After getting pulled back to camp i went and bought a new ball pushrod and torrington bearing upgrade for the clutch adjustment screw. Turns out the cable was extremely stretched so i replaced it. Went for a ride and the trans shit itself(or so i thought) clutch is fully disengaged. Upon disassembly i discovered the adjustment screw was galled and blue. I can move the clutch arm trhough its whole range of motion easily. however i can not get the ball out of the clutch basket. I have all the parts to replace everything but how do i get that freaking ball out? Pull the basket and bang it out? (I have a machine shop at my disposal so i am going to chuck it up in a lathe and ream the through hole to clean up any smeared metal.)
  4. I did he same in a 1988 toyota with a 22r. 31X10.5X15's air lowered to 8 psi. early october very soft sand I made it no worries with my Shee and 15 gallons of fuel in the back. JUST DON"T STOP WHATEVER YOU DO!
  5. The 87 was a one year only for the intake setup. Check the reeds and it will go 87, 88-90(or whenever they were discontinued.) It was bigger than the rest of the years. They used the same intakes on the 87lt 250's too. I want a 500 engine for my 250 chassis. talk about a sleeper.
  6. List carbs as sold. Going to buy throttle to carbs for $95 shipped. You should get money for this from frankenchevy@yahoo.com via paypal. CrackersCustoms@miamiatv.com is the email i am sending the money to. snail mail or slowest ground is cool as long as it gets to me in 3 weeks(from monday 28 august).
  7. I am in the process of building a 5mm hot rod +4mm stroke engine. I asked a bunch of questions and got a response that pretty much said take your domes and cut them .080 inch in from the current shoulder and cut the profile starting at a 14 deg angle. CC them after each try and adjust the angle to get the dome size you want. Repeat for the 2nd one. I am a machinist by trade and like the idea of doing any fabricating or porting myself. I have since cut 3 sets of domes for my cool head. Its pretty simple once you get the locator plug set up in the lathe. Get the threads fully seated and run an indicator on the face and Inner Diameter. If they are within .0005 TIR cut it
  8. Ok 64.25mm bore Cool head 22cc domes V-Force 2 reeds Stock carbs FMF FATTIE pipes K&N Filter kit Stock air box DYNA FS programmable ignition 310 mains 27.5 pilots clip 2nd from the top on the needle. Don't remember how many turns on the air screws.
  9. Unfortunately Flag Burning is PROTECTED under the FREEDOM OF SPEECH right. I don't agree with it but the fact remains. If they want to use their freedom of speech to burn the symbol of freedom, liberty and happiness, They have that right. I just hope that when they douse it they get the fuel all over themselves and have to have several drunk patriots piss on them to put them out! Another thing. You don't like our government? Stop bitching and VOTE BETTER YET RUN FOR FUCKING OFFICE AND CHANGE IT FROM THE INSIDE.
  10. Cutting into the sleeve on the transfers increases the volume of mixture that the bike can move. I'd worry about how well those sleeves would hold up when you got close to 66mm on the bore. Don't know what to tell you about the exhaust port. Maybe they did some flow bench work to get that profile. Are both cylinders the same?
  11. Spend as much as you can on the cabin and "package" You will be whole lot happier once you get there. If you have never been aboard a big ship or get motion sickness carry a small plastic bag (3 gallon trash bags are perfect) And always keep munching on saltines or ritz type crackers but don't fill yourself up. You could also get a motion sickness patch Prescription from your doctor before you go too.
  12. Anyone ever seend the RDZ500 vr4? THat would be awesome in a banshee chassis. Heck or even street legal. Maybe i can get stationed in japan and find an alminum framed one!
  13. Hey all, There is a group trying to get an OHV park built in the Phoenix area. We need as many positive comment to sway BLM and the government weanies as we can get. Please go to http://www.mototrax.org/ read the stuff and if you like the proposal please leave a positive comment. thanks,
  14. 1/8 mile is by far (IMO) better for a banshee of even a 4 stroke then 1/4 mile. My Shee when it just had bolt ons was tapped out in 6th about 75 feet before the 660 mark. My best friend YFZ450 was quicker but my shee had a higher top speed. (means my shee made more power!) He hasn't been back since he did the port high comp piston and more aggresive cams. I haven't been able to race the last 2 seasons due to My ship being out to sea every time they do Drag racing at Barona raceway or i am out at glamis(gotta have priorities! :baseball_w00t: )
  15. I guess i have been lucky. i live near them and bought quite a few parts from them both on ebay and through their site. Whenever it was something big or heavy i just went the weekend after i won it to pick it up. Shipping is slow from them. I think i might have fookered up someone elses shipping by dropping in with my info and saying i want my pipes / paddles / intakes.
  16. I concur. I run 22x11x8 9 paddle haulers. was a 370 long rod with cool head v-force 2's and 35mm pwk's. Back to .010 over light clean up port and stock carbs. Still able to pull the 9 paddles but if i don't keep it on the pipe it bogs a bit.
  17. Got a 1991 Blazer Silverado I can part with. Auto trans. Transfer case works great. A/C doesn't work. Heater core needs to be replaced. (haven't gotten to it yet) Steering column is loose. No oil leaks no trans leaks no power steering leaks. I fixed em all. Paint is ugly. Interior is burgundy and clean. No rip or burn holes carpet is good for its age(no holes worn through) Just replaced the torque converter and did a valve job. Has a 350 engine. With TBI. TH700R4. CD player. I am in Lakeside California Pm me if you want more photo's
  18. Now that is what i call some in depth technical advice! thanks! I'll let you know how it turns out.
  19. Ok so i dial in the face and Outside Diameter within .0005 total indicated runout and cut the bottom part of the dome(not locating face) in .0796 inches. I am Starting with 21 cc domes for a stock stroke. What angle should i cut it to? Give me a ball park figure so i am close. I can cc it and re-chuck it up later to get it just right. I don't want to cut too much.
  20. Ok decided to go with the 4 mill stroker with stock length rods. How deep do i cut the domes for clearance? and what do i cut the angle to? I know some of the builders that are on here can answer this question. since i am on here what would you recommend for in frame pipes for a 66mm bore, drag port, v-force reeds, 4mm stroker crank, cool head (domes to be made, gonna try for 20cc), and 35mm pwk's on gas? This engine is going into a suzuki LT chassis. I will post pics as it comes along.
  21. Show us the fragged piston. It could be you are running lean on that side due to an air leak. I also learned the hard way that if you melt a piston tear it all the way down and thoroughly clean out the crank bearings and replace the crank seals while you are there.
  22. How much do you want for the bars shipped to 92040?
