use a dremel and cut a slot in those stripped screws so you can use a large flat bladed screw driver. then use a manual impact with a slotted bit to break them loose. looks like fun.... Mine will be in the "project" line sometime in spring hopefully.

The parking brake is usually removed though. You can get atv's road legal in some states, but not others. Arizona required a horn, blinkers and working head and tail lights. Parking brake wasn't part of the requirement.

there should be a 45* angle at the top of the head stud holes, 1mm (1/32" or so) deep if the top of the threads just ends with a jagged type burr the torque from the nut could pull the top surface up and create a leak.

Ohm check everything, Coil, CDI, Stator see if you fried anything. KISS principal Check/test everything before you replace anything.

give it a shot of starter fluid to see if it fires.... that will tell you for sure you have a fuel issue you need to CLEAN everything, like tweaker clean it. all those little passages get even a little varnish in them and it runs like shit. torch tip cleaners, or new jets. carb dip the carb bodies, new crossover tube, blow everything out with full pressure compressed air not that 30 psi reduced safety shit. remove the petcock and clean/replace the screen, then reinstall with new gasket and turn fuel on through fuel line and verify you have good fuel flow through the T fitting to each carb.

Check head for flat? Top of cylinder deck flat? All old gasket material off of deck and head? Head stud holes chamfered?

Or buy a $140 top end off of amazon.

My home town in south jersey doesn't have many atv's or utv's anymore, but god help you should you cross the street to continue on a trail... fucking staties go on the prowl.... the shit in that video would get shut down fucking quick! and my uncle is the god damn mayor.... stupid fucks don't understand how much money can be brought in if they got a decent sized OHV park down there. But the negative image has made it Im fucking possible to get the zoning and permission to do it. not far from Philly at all its what I wanted to do when I retired from the Navy.... lots of dormant sand plants that have 1000's of acres as well as crystal clear ponds. Sand drags, trails, mud pits. Add in camping area and rv pads.... money maker. It would fucking rain money.....

I have to go down to South Jersey regularly. the fuckheads that almost got creamed were riding Honda's no decals so I couldn't tell you if it was a 400ex or 450r quad, and it could have been a 250 or 450 dirt bike. Tony Luke's is worth the detour.....

Heat the new bearings to 275-300 use welding gloves to put them on. Make sure to put it on straight. If you cock the bearing you will fuck up the crank. there is only a .0004”-.0007” press fit heated properly you wont need a press to put them on.
