  1. I am a machine shop supervisor in the Navy. I have a ton of machinery at my disposal and don't always have enough work to keep my 42 underlings employed. I would like to get some dimensions for connecting rods basically the big end diameter, small end diameter, actual thickness of the big and small ends(from side to side) and nominal wall thickness at the outside ends. That would make for a good project that would involve Drilling, boring, milling and honing. Long rods are 155mm center to center Stock rods are 110mm center to center I have all kinds of material to work with. I myself am going to make a pair out of titanium, just to say I have a set.... FYI Mine will be made using Mastercam X6 on a Haas VF-2 mill and finish honed on a sunnen honing machine. the underlings will be made out of ChrMo steel, HY80 or some 8000 series steel. with a + or - of .0002 in tolerance on the bore diameter, a perpendicular tolerance of .0005 and, a true position tolerance of .002 on the holes with a .002 on center to center distance Hope someone can help me out. thanks for any info.... I will post some pictures once I get started on these.
  2. Nice looking build.
  3. I have a 2001 Powerstroke extra cab 4X4. I usually get 17-18 mixed driving on a tank with stock suspension, stock tires and 3.73 gears with a 100hp tune. I got 15-16 without the tune. 4R100 trans. trans died at 114k, replaced 2 injectors and at 190k the hpop is getting tired. time for a T500 hpop I drove D-max, 5.9 dodge and 6.7 dodge (both new in 07) when I bought the Powerstroke. Chevy was most expensive(and IFS), dodge was cheap feeling and rode like a buckboard wagon, and the ford was just right for me to pull my toyhauler and toys to glamis.
  4. I second powerstrokenation.com powerstroke.org is ok. I like PSN better.
  5. Just make a jig to mount the cylinder on a regular lathe. Use a faceplate to hold the jig, easy swap from your 3/6 jaw or 4 jaw to boring your cylinder.... I bored my own cylinders when I lived in california, took them to an automotive machine shop for the hone, I wasn't comfortable with getting the cross hatch just right by hand with a drill. Watched and learned. Next time I will do it myself.
  6. I modified one to hold a 2 gallon gas can.... not what you are looking for.... Cut-off wheel, welder and some steel stock. make it happen!

  9. I read this thread and noticed that no one stated jets are sized by flow. size is secondary. drilling them could fuck up the fuel delivery. Buy some bigger jets.

  13. My bike is pretty close to yours. I run a 30 pilot with 280 mains and a toomey needle in the middle. I also run my premix at 32:1 (Castor 927) leaning it out on the needle would be moving the clip up If it doesn't clean up until the top your waaaaaay fat.
