  1. Around the outside, take off about the same amount as the pickup is thick. On the face, just take off enough to make it look nice (the weight is around the outside, not on the face). You can also slot the holes if you like... I took a little over a pound of material off of mine.
  2. OK, I got Dennis Kirk to match the price of Rocky Mountain so I should have some here on Tuesday. 20-11-9...I'll report back with my impression.
  3. Yeah, what you have should already outrun him. The only thing I'd add to the mix is an adjustable timing plate (crank it to +4) and possibly switch to a filter that doesn't require the stock airbox.
  4. B8ES is stock and is fine. The "R" doesn't mean it's a race plug or anything, just that it won't screw up your radio's reception
  5. Oh, it looks like rocky mountain is sold out of ALL Knarly sizes so I can't any from the.. OK, new comparo..how about Turf Tamers, or Kenda Klaws...they are both about 45 bux. Do any of you have a preference? Edit: I looks like it's got 20's on it now, for some reason I keep wanting to call them 22's...must by from my old 3-wheeler days (22-11-8's).
  6. What's the advantage of 20's over 22's? Why do you like them so much? I'll either go with 20's like you suggest or call DK and get them to match the price for me.
  7. Any other suggestions for online sources? I live in the sticks and have to drive 110 miles round trip to buy a magazine...
  8. Well, Rocky Mountain was sold out even though it didn't say so on their site...they say they won't have more until August 10th at th earliest. My total from RM was 117, I tried recreationtire.com and it was 158.00. I refuse to pay that much. Where else should I check for a good price on Knarly's? Thanks. Also, what is the advantage of running 20-11-9's instead of 22's? Should I go with 20's? I have stock sprockets.
  9. Well, I just ordered a set of Knarlys...should be alot better than the worn out RAZRs that came with my Shee...
  10. I'm going to buy eithe rthe 4 ply Holeshot, Knarly, or RAZR rear tires for my Shee. My main concern is tread life. Which will last longer? I ride on mostly dirt/sand roads, grassy areas, some rocks, and sometimes pavement. Also, do these tires perform similarly? The Holeshots are an extra 30 bux over the RAZRs, are they worth it? How about the Knarlys? Also, where is the cheapest place to buy tires from? So far the best I've found is Rocky Mountain ATV. Thanks. Stinger
  11. You might want to check ebay for used ported cylinders as well, I see some 350cc ones on there from time to time.
  12. Sounds like you need to go through the carbs and at least clean them. You probably need to do some tuning as well though.
  13. Maybe they are listing flywheel HP not rear wheel HP. I saw a bone stock Banshee dyno 32 wheel HP btw.
  14. bump for above question
  15. Thanks for the info guys, that's what I needed to know. Yes, I know everything else is functioning as I have my buddies harness here that the bike will run on, swap to my harness, no spark. I've already opened up the harness and pulled all the tape off of it and fixed a few spots that looked suspicious. If I don't figure it out tomorrow with this new info, I'll fork out 70 bux for a new harness.
  16. 2 grand for the bike I've got $421 in aftermarket goodies: FMF Fatties & Silencers Milled Head to 21cc Bored Carbs 27.5mm Carb Jets (8 jets total) Front Bumper AC Racing Rear Bumper DG Racing Boyesen Dual Stage CF Reeds w/cage Boyesen Dual Stage Reeds w/cage (extras) Reed Spacers 1/4" K&N Filters w/OuterWares TORS Eliminator Kit Mild Porting I've also got $273 in maintenance parts: Clutch Lever Brake Lever Seat Cover A Arm Bushings Chain Rings Top End Gaskets Case Saver Chain Slider Kit TMS So with 421 bux I made enough power difference to go from stock jetting to 380 mains...not bad
  17. What kind of jetting/tuning did you have to do after you used the templates? How many sizes did you gain in the mains? Oh, are you guys still using stock carbs or not?
  18. I had intermittent spark on my Shee and then after screwing with it trying to get it running it finally quite all together. I borrowed another ignition system and harness because I couldn't locate the problem, it fired right up. That helped me figure out my CDI was bad. I then found out that I also have a problem with my harness. Now with the new CDI, it sometimes sparks, sometimes doesn't. I even had it running once...as soon as I shut it off it lost spark though. Basically, I've got a wire in the harness that is broke and only getting a connection sometimes. My question is, what wires in the harness can shut off the bike (I know alot of them are safety crap I don't have hooked up) and/or what wires could fry a CDI if they lost connection? I've been testing the harness with my multimeter for 4 hours and I'm not finding the problem...ideas?
  19. My buddies powervalve got stuck shut and it just didn't pull hard up top...still ran fine. It does "act" like it's running lean (because of the backfiring and such) but the plug doesn't show it, nor does the carb show any reason why it would be lean.
  20. I've got 21cc chambers and have 152psi compression on mine. I can get away with 91 octane fuel...just barely though I'd imagine.
  21. I took .038 off of mine and got 21cc domes out of it. This gave me 152psi compression...just right for pump gas as far as I'm concerned.
