How far are you running, 300, 500, 660, 1/4 mile?
-
I don't think they're much more than that brand new...that's not that great of a price unless intakes and/or air filters and a cable come with them. And I agree with the above...your motor isn't ready for them yet.
-
Like most 2 strokes, this is a little finicky to start, but runs great warmed up. Oh boy...that's a good one....
-
No..the needles will only richen up a lean spot in the middle from stock needles.
-
I can promise you it won't become a HJR vs. anyone thread. I like riding in the dunes, but I love the track. Lights and timers tell the story...not a dyno and a flagged start. (No offense to other dune racers, I'm just saying) Cub run out of the box, everyone knows that. I was looking for a tenth or so from porting, I got that...and probably a bit more. For the price, service and turn around time I'm very, very happy.

No. The needle and seat are not removable. Post up pictures of the carb fuel inlet line, I can tell you if they're pumpers or not. Just tap the intake side of one cylinder after the reed cages and get a pump. We use the Mikuni DF62 fuel pump for methanol. Single fuel inlet, dual fuel outlet, 65L per hour. All you'll need.

A lockup won't solve that problem, more than likely the shift shaft adjustment isn't right...check that. With an override, you really should pickup a lockup. Check with Kevin Herr, HJR Racing for an undercover lockup. You don't have to buy or mod your stock clutch cover, it fits underneath it.

Looks like that Orange has a little sparkle to it...very nice color choice. What size Cheetah is that, BTW? nice looking build!

I cleaned it up myself. Just removed the casting line in the transfers and cleaned up the intake/exhaust casting "boogers" as well. I just barely rounded the tops of the intake "boost" ports too... Nothing more... Funny Butch... I was sitting there thinking for a brief second Shit...did he change his number? LOL.

Well, I got a chance to run my bike for the first time this year and wanted to give some feedback for my 10 mil cub ported by Kevin Herr. Yes, that Kevin of Herr Juggs Racing. It's not good. IT'S GREAT. I've had my 10 mil cub down the strip literally hundreds of times over the past two seasons. I know what it runs...at each track I go to. Yesterday, I mud bogg'd at a track in Port Huron. The guys there did a great job trying to dry out and turn the track...just too much rain, etc. So...nothing. My bike for the past few years has gone a best of 4.22 and very consistent at 4.3 with me on it. I had a LOT of tuning to do today. Adjusted my carbs probably 4-5 times to finally get it pretty close, still have some tuning to do. I'm happy to report first time out with my bike, same everything as last two years...but it's fully drag ported by HJR and fresh pistons, that's it. Best of 4.17 @ 78.8 MPH. Ran a few 4.2's off. Still have a little tuning to do as well. I have never gone teens with this bike. And out of 20 runs on an average test and tune, I'd pull 1...MAYBE 2 4.2 runs. Even though I still have some tuning to do, I simply can not believe how hard this motor pulls on top. It revs out further, pulls harder all the way through...I'm very, very impressed. I've read alot about Kevin's work on duners, trail bikes...very few drag bikes that I know of. I was very worried about putting my motor in someone's hands only because of how well it ran before this tear down. I made a great choice. I sent him the whole motor (minus tranny and clutch) to get degreed in, case matched...and had it back in two weeks. A real two weeks. Kevin's been bugging me to get it all together and go for a ride...so, finally I did. Thanks HJR...does this mean I've officially started the HJR nutswinging group? Meetings will be at 8PM at the gymnasium at the quads. Beer and peanuts will be provided...

You guys lost me at the flux capacitor.

They don't win every year like they should? If they did that, then people would be crying. They've won it 4 times in the last 11 seasons...anyone else do that? If you go back a few more years, Colorado and New Jersey have won 2... In modern hockey, no team is gonna win it every year, just making the playoffs every year is a challenge in itself... In the last 15 years no team has done better or been more consistent in winning. That is a 100% absolute true fact. I know you can go back to the 30's and say how many cups the habs and leafs have one....but in modern hockey, no one has been as good as the wings. Haters...nothing but haters.... GO WINGS.

" If you lessen the angel that the force is being applied," Great...now you two are gonna start a holy war n shit...just great.

Can someone please call Bill Nuy and Gary Ed Mach to settle this one?

He is the IMdb and wikipedia of pirate hookers.

The theory is temperature. Metal, as it gets cold can produce condensation. Condensation is essentially water... However, since you more than likely don't have the large changes in temps like us Yankees do...probably not as much of a concern for you....

Seriously CHEAP banshee goodies..

How many of those Rotors you got laying around JD? -
Technically Shayne, VP sells 3 different types... M1, M3 and M5. http://vpracingfuels.com/fuels_spec.asp  99. anything % pure is just fine. I've ran M1 in the past. I have a Sunoco 55 gallon drum in my garage now. The key thing in Methanol is keep it stored at a normal temp, off the ground...AND SEALED. It will suck moisture out of the air, and that's why folks purge. That moisture on your motor's internal will cause rust, corrosion, etc. I think the M5 has nitropropane and top end lube, it's MOSTLY for the 4 stroke guys, and VERY hard to tune on a 2 stroke.
-
I disagree... Don't tell those guys from Puerto Rico that...those nitrous hounds had no problem rebuilding a motor after a pass. I'm not making fun of them...I commend them for trying to take the drag racing sport to the next level... You don't see any NHRA crew twiddling their thumbs between rounds...they're scurrying like cockroaches rebuilding, replacing, etc. (I'm talking about the PR team that was at Gilbert this year for the PS race, by the way....)

Damn that was funny, I was thinking something of the same lines.... We can all appreciate good work. Here's what it boils down to. Shipping full plastic is expensive as FUCK...not because of the weight, but because of the size of the box. So...I can buy a set of plastics for 300 bucks....shipped to me, or I can pay 75 to 90 to ship it to you, paint it for under 100, then pay you to ship it back for the same price.... Painting plastics, unless you're getting a custom 1000 dollar plus job, isn't worth it unless you have a LOCAL guy. Just my opinion...that's all. Regardless, let's see some work...we all appreciate that any way you shake it....

Well...the original post got what he wanted, that's the important part... And I'm sure as hell not going to tell anyone to let the thread die. That would be like Ron Jeremy telling the porn industry to stop making films...hypocrite of the year....LOL. Here's my final thought... the longer rod will put less stress on the rotating assembly by lessening the angle through the duration of the stroke. Bearing wear is quite a bit harder to prove. However, do I feel the need to put on a white coat and prove any of this? Nope....my bike runs fine too.... FouledOut and I probably have two of the strongest and longest running bikes in our group (notice...I didn't say fastest, just strong and long lasting.... )

If the real difference only matters to someone in a lab, what difference does it make to a simple ATV rider? That's kinda like saying, in lab results this oil will make this engine last 400 hours. This oil, 350... But you lean it out and smoke a piston anyways.... I understand and can appreciate your ideas Greg, but in this case...it's a boost bottle idea. Sounds good...theory behind it...but not much use in the real world because of all the other circumstances and effect generated by it....

It's a conspiracy...they are just coming back to Detroit for the money, we need it... Plus, it's the one year anniversary for Datsyuk's hat trick against Dallas....he's gonna eat 'em up Friday in the D....lights out!

The piston refers to the rod length, NOT the stroke. If you have stock cylinders and a longer stroke crank, you either have a spacer at the bottom of the cylinders or a head/domes that are cut recessed for the added stroke. The 795 series, or racers choice series, have the wrist pin hole moved 5mm closer to the crown of the piston (top). The 795 series dome also has the same profile as the standard banshee piston (513 or 573 series, I forget...someone correct that) Do a search on a squish test. It involves a piece of solder through the spark plug hole, smashing it down with the piston (against the head) and measuring that thickness. From .040 to .060 is the norm, depending on your setup. A mid 40 to low 50 number is the average...
