  1. I still have a 5.5 gallon Clarke or IMS tank, ugly blue, but you can have it for less than half the price of a new one. Sitting in my garage, collecting dust...waiting for a new home. I bought it used from a member...and I don't plan on trail riding my cub...so, stock tank is fine. (Plus more fuel = more weight = bad... ) If you want pics, I have them posted on Planet Sand. For less than half the money of a new one, it might be worth your elbow grease to either strip or repaint this one. It is "clear" or "Nuetral" under the paint. http://www.planetsand.com/ubbthreads/showf...true#Post497833 If you PM Me your address, I can get you a shipping quote via Fed Ex.
  2. Once in a while you can find it on ebay. I looked yesterday, and Couldn't. You can always try and get it from the same retailer you plan on/did buy the Dyna from. Or, you can go right to the source, scroll down to the bottom. http://www.dynaonline.com/english/atv_fs.htm
  3. Congrats on the house and Job (I hope... ) Don't get me wrong, twister does in fact make a very, very nice product. If money is no issue...or you have to have the very best, that would be it in my opinion. However.....for about 1/2 the price....a Re-Welded Hotrods is a nice crank. I like the Maxload or TZ bearing for the PTO side, too. Just like having it re-welded, it's very good insurance. I'm sure 400 or 500 bucks could be spent elsewhere on other goodies...if ya know what I mean...
  4. Um...depends. I wouldn't recommend this...but.... Cubs love timing. Since I don't have time to get to a dyno to program it...I put my plate on +8 and the curve on #3 (the most overall advanced)... My cub loves it!! However, for a stockish motor...I probably wouldn't put nearly that much timing in it...
  5. I'd get her anything she wants.... I have a whole new level of respect for you... Further proof...chicks dig two strokes...lol
  6. Good explanation there...Dj.... I removed my tool kit under the seat. I drilled a hole in the back, and placed all the extra wiring (program harness and dip switch (curve selector) in that area.... Yeah, I have to take off my seat to change curves...but, I'm pretty sure I can live with that...
  7. YOu can do a ton of things with the Dyna, Nitrous activation, Shift Light, launch limiter... I've never programmed mine yet, however.... maybe DJblack can answer how the launch control works.... I"m thinking it has to do with when the clutch is pulled in...but, not sure.
  8. I've learned a long time ago...even if they piss you off to no end, be nice...cordial and polite on the phone. Switch shoes with the tech guy, and if you were given that attitude, how well do you think you'd react. Same goes for eating out at restaurants....even if it is the shitties service, food...etc., be polite until it's time to pay the bill.... Then, do your bargaining....or refuse to eat it, etc.... When I talk to a vendor on the phone, I'm as nice as possible to them....believe me, I get what I want when I want not because I'm being a dick to them. I know it's my money paying their paycheck, but I also know I needed something done, and I called them for that purpose....
  9. The dyna is the way to go. TO be clear....in order to use the holeshot revlimiter...you need to buy the CD software and cable (100 bucks) or...go to a dyno to get it tuned in. I've been told some people get 2 to 10 HP extra out of a Dyna once they dial it in with a Dyno. However, until I get results on mine from pre set curves to a custom program, the proof will be in the pudding. You get better spark energy from the Dyna than a stock CDI...that I promise you. Your bike will actualy run for 1/2 a second even with the ignition killed due to the spark that thing puts out....(from kicking it, I mean) It'll fire a few times. I wanted all new ignition for my cub motor, I even bought a brand new stator from RS. I figured everything was stock from 96, last thing I needed to do was troubleshoot electrical problems. My bike is very, very crisp....and I know once I switch to alky, spark will NOT be a problem....
  10. I'd venture to say a Dyna is a little more important on a 4 stroke because of the rev limiter...etc. I have both, Dyna and Nology... I'd say the Dyna offers more bang....the Nology is more insurance. And I can tell you they both work very, very well together on mine.
  11. He he.... Wait till you port it....whole new ball game.
  12. Aw geez....will you two just get a room already and get it overwith.... :yelrotflmao:
  13. Bent down a little....would cause more gas in the bowl. However, you measured it correctly by what it sounds like. Yeah, I'd try cleaning that needle and seat a little better...bet that makes the difference.
  14. Bob' Family Dragway. It's in Clarksville, a few minutes off the freeway. I96, exit 59. (Clarksville) Just there Saturday...was fun. Last drag race/test and tune of the year I know of. They're trying to get the Test and Tune/Drag race changed next year to be the same day. Traditionally, it's been T&T Saturday, bracket/knockout race Sunday. That's fine for local guys...but, some of us drive 2 hours plus to get there. 4 hours Saturday and 4 hours of driving Sunday can get old...especially if you get knocked out first race Sunday. If he started earlier Saturday, at the very least you could get a few hours of T&T time in...even if you got knocked out first....just seems to make sense. Hopefully, Bob goes for it...I think his turn out would increase...
  15. You can eyeball them. Upsidedown, if the bottom of the floats are level, you're ok. Try removing the floats, needle and the seat and clean them up real good. The float height isn't THAT sensitive....but, a dirty needle and seat will pour out the gas no matter what height the float is set at. You know, at 21mm you're supposed to measure from the gasket surface itself, NOT the outer rim, right?
  16. SOLD!!! Paid today, pickup tomorrow. Thanks for all your interests.... Dave
  17. You sound close now...maybe a little lean on the main....but, you are at 2000 feet. How does it run? Have you tried a plug chop? http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html
  18. Absolutely false. They work fantastic on bone stock motors, or those with just a little bit of porting (mostly clean up porting, which...any motor can benefit from).. You probably heard that from someone that had a built motor, drag motor, etc. For those cases, yes...they're not a very good choice. I was at the dunes early this year, and a guy had a timing plate, cut head and T6 pipes (and a K&N) with the airbox. Pipes looked good, sounded good...and the bike ran very, very well for a stock motor.
  19. Thanks much Polish.... I'll be ordering these for my pipes before my trip out to Silver Lake... I'm sure they can be trimmed to fit my silencers, and...if I'm going to do this, I think they're due for a repacking anywho.... Very very nice post. I can see these being very, very useful over here in MI.
  20. The magnum basket I got from Jeffro Wendorkski Johnson came with 'em. Believe it or not...I think Wiseco makes some.... Call that hillbilly up, I bet he's got 'em....(since you can't go to his website...ha ha ha...) J/K....Jeffro.
  21. Normally....timing and/or compression adjustments don't require a jetting change. However, it's always wise to do a proper plug chop....to be sure. When I put the plate on my stock motor, last year, it didn't require a rejet.
  22. You're way off. Get a roost boost and turbo cut domes. That will properly ignite the mixture, and the swirling effect from the turbo cut domes will probably add another 3 HP.... After about 5 or 6 revolutions, this thing will have "lightweight" bearings on the crank and wrist pin too. Yet another .5 HP.... :yelrotflmao:
  23. WOW.... I didn't realize this was going to generate so much interest. Ok...here goes. I'm trying to be fair...to all. on 3 see ya from Planet sand is looking at it today at lunch...meeting me at my house. smkumupbanshee from PS lives in Romeo and is ready to come pick it up. oneslowbanshee is ready to deal and paypal now as well. So...to be honest, I would rather not paypal this deal. There is enough interest where it's gonna sell, I'm sure of it. I don't want to get socked with paypal fees for one, and...for two...if you deposit/pay for it via paypal and then decide you don't want it....it's messier...a little. Cash in hand for this thing. I'll know today at noonish if on 3 wants it or not. If not....I'll post back here.... I honestly didn't know it was going to generate this much interest of I would've put it here sooner...(and maybe for a few more bucks...lol ) Dave
  24. I really didn't want to sell it...but, I don't have the time to put into it. Plus...the shee is already a money pit, plus I need to get some work done on the house. My dad's buddy from work was supposed to come and pick it up for the last month....so, piss on 'em. I've gotten 5 PM's about it in the last few hours...so, I think it'll be gone real soon. Need the room in the garage to make way for a house project!! Nope...going the last weekend of October...gonna be chilly, but...fun!!
  25. True enough, Denny.... I've done my reseach....and CEL seemed to be the common choice. And, I'm very pleased with how mine runs. I would try another needle...but, within the next few months I'm switching to meth....so, all new 39's it looks like. I got the CELs brand new in a trade for $$ and my stock carbs/filters...so, it was an easy choice...
