  1. Trust me, you want to run a tad rich when it comes to cold weather...
  2. 280 sounds about perfect with an airbox and modded lid. I'd say dump a 300 in there for the cold, and you should be ok...but, check the plug to be sure!
  3. Call Jeff @ FAST racing...he's got you covered.... www.farmandsandtoys.com
  4. Clockwise to advance it. You'll need a slotted stock plate (machined) or an adjustable plate, RickyStator or Pro-design. They latter both have gradient numbers to show you how far it's advanced....
  5. What temps were you jetted at before? A GENERAL rule of thumb is ever 20 to 25 degree drop in temp is one size larger on the main...
  6. Riding temps and elevation? Swap the stock pilots (25) for the next size, 27.5. Turn the air screws out 1 turn. Unless you're above 2500 to 3000 feet, you're lean on your main...try a 340 or so, but plug chop to be sure. If it's a dog off the bottom, as in idle to 1/8 throttle...that's the pilot and air screw.
  7. Got that right, Rod... As long as there's no 40MPH wind, I can bundle up and handle it...LOL.
  8. I would say by your jetting, you're damn close....a little fine tuning one way or the other. 175 is more like it. Can't tell you how many times I've seen el cheapo compression testers show off the charts...
  9. Starting first or second kick is USUALLY a good sign of proper compression, good to check anywho. Clean the carbs...
  10. You guys are killing me.... Just got back from closing weekend a few weeks ago, you're already talking about going again?? LOL...yeah, plan on being there a lot next year. This was a learning, test and tune year. Next year I just wanna ride!!
  11. Do a compression check, and if you just bought it it'd be a good idea to completely dissasemble and clean each of the carbs, one at a time to make sure nothing is plugged up. White smoke? Blue smoke? Black smoke?
  12. It's all good...Kai... Yeah, with your neighbor giving you the look, I'm thinking a plug chop is out of the question.... Actually got a few snow flakes here today as well...so, Winter's about here. Good luck, keep us posted!
  13. Middle clip, try a 280 main for the colder temps we're having. With the lid, summer time, you'll probably be at or around a 260....
  14. Your jetting is fine. Clean those carbs out....completely. I'm talking complete dissasembly, one at a time, and remove all brass that you can. Use a speaker wire to clean up everything (all the little passages, etc.) T5's, sea level, airbox with K&N Lid, 27.5 pilots are fine, and I'd almost say 310 is a hair rich as well. Your bike won't start from sitting...not cause the jetting. It's been my experience that V Force reeds you may need to LEAN the needle one clip...they actually richen the mid range.
  15. That is the place I always start, too....just keep in mind, that chart is approximate!
  16. Sent him the part before the payment was even mailed...I saw a thread where NYUK (John Austin) vouched for him...all I needed to see. Quick payment as promised, quick communication.... Thanks Bob!!
  17. Dial caliper. You need an inside diameter micrometer, too. It looks like a T, spring loaded...and it will snap to (expand) to the width of the cylinder....make sure you take several measurements...from various spots on the cylinders.
  18. a few HP. A few ft. lbs. of torque. And, you might need race/pump fuel with timing and that much compresion. HOW do you know it's going to be 146? There's no way you can tell exactly what your compression is going to be until you actually shave the head, or buy an aftermarket with domes. So...that being said. We can't really give you an estimate on HP until you give us an ACTUAL PSI rating.... Once you get up over 145PSI and advance the timing, it's hit or miss. If it's jetted correctly, you MAY be able to run pump gas. However, since it's a little warm down there in Mexico....you may not be able to.
  19. Ha ha...Meat. I did some work there...and Shamokin Damn, too... I closed an auto center there, years ago...haven't heard of that city in YEARS!!!! Since I'm not from there, I still can't pronounce it correctly! Yeah....like OSU had a real tough schedule too....right... GO BLUE!!! By the way, how's that Maurice Clarrett guy doing? You think he's gonna be watching this game...from his CELL? He better talk to his probie officer...ha ha ha.... HAIL TO THE VICTORS!!!
  20. Now that there is funny...I don't care who you are. I can't believe you guys are muddying up this guy's thread....with your I have this much money, you have this much BS... I could care less if you have 1M or $1. Fanning Franklins on the table doesn't impress me. I can get a picture of a bunch of gold bars stacked up....does that prove it's mine? Nope.... Bansheepro, do us all a favor. Take some of that money, get a keyboard that doesn't have a broken caps lock, and learn how to use a period, comma...or other punctuation. Aggie...you've got several interested buyers, and one willing to show up with cash and a semi. Without posting pics and/or VIN numbers to make sure this is a square deal, I think you're wasting your time....to be honest. If John has bought bikes on the level with you before, you've got one of our best members ready to vouch for you....but, you need to post some proof of these machines, rather than tell us about your business practices and/or your partners. I'm not hating, not trying to sound like a dick...or even in disbelief. However, some proof would add to your credibility, and improve good faith for those willing to spend the cash and make the drive. All I'm saying.... Look... I'm Riiiichhhh....Biyatch...
  21. Make sure you jet accordingly for both. I'd bet the CPIs will like richer jetting due to their free flowing design....
  22. Nope...I agree 100%. Good point on the non-interchangeable domes on the Trinity, and the higher cost of domes, too!
  23. Nothing wrong with that... If the plugs look good, Git R Done....
  24. Won't improve HP worth noticing.... Might look better than black pipes...if you don't have Chrome T6's...but, because of the expansion of the pipes, prolly be hard to wrap too...
  25. Plug chop it. At that elevation with no air box lid and T5's I'd think 260 would be perfect.... Premix ratio doesn't make that big a difference, unless you're talking non-synthetic oil @ 20:1 vs. synthetic oil @ 50:1... Pick your oil and ratio and then jet it. NEVER change oil/ratios to compensate for improper jetting.
