Got 'em...ran 'em all year, no problem. They only a problem if you like paying MORE money for name brand K&N... I got the 6 inch angled filters...and the fit perfectly... Get the socks too!!

125PSI is low at or near sea level for a .040 shaved head. 90 and 80 is low...unless you a high mofo, high in elevation... Honestly...your call. Could be fine, could be someone didn't really take off .040...maybe a little less. However...for the price of a few gaskets, you could take the top end off, mic the pistons and cylinders and check ring end gap.....

Call any race shop on this site...they'll all have it. Not to mention, probably cheaper than going direct from K&N.... Or...call Pro Design and get the part number...

D'oh...sorry, Whitey, FI is so rare, I keep forgetting the setup you have. I agree...I think you're gonna have fun. My buddy had a turbo shee, alky, but carb'd. He'd have to adjust it a few times a day, for temps and humidity...he just got rid of the bike/motor in fact.... Now he's gonna put a Tyson turbo on a YFZ...which, makes pretty impressive numbers to say the least....

I'm going to have to sort of disagree...boys. I'll always get a 1-5 override, nuetral down... Here's a few reasons...It allows you to run MUCH taller gearing, so you can make full use of 5 gears instead of 4. Also...1st gear is MUCH stronger than 2nd gear, well known. So...with my 4 mil, I was launching in 2nd (stock tranny and clutch) with 14/42 gearing and it launched very well. I'm going to launch in 1st with my 10 mil, and I'm going to try 16/42 gearing...which, should let 1st gear be similar to 2nd gear with stock gearing... I did this for the reasons of stronger gear, one more gear...and no chance of hitting a false nuetral.... Just my .02...

I had a feeling this was what the thread was about, before I even opened it. I got a set of billet hangers from Ellison, and probably used 3/8 to 1/2 inch of washers...and I still only have a 1/4 inch gap... Welcome to the Shearer club!!! I'd hate to see you smack that hanger...and oops, cracked pipe/hole... That'd piss me right off....

I think it's pretty safe to say you are a prime candidate for a programmable Dyna igntion...due to your unique build. I thought this was a "gonna be turbo" bike Whitey, I rememberd the impressive write ups... SHit, if you can get a turbo tuned in, alky will be a complete breeze. Turbos are fun, finicky as all hell though.

Here's something they never tell you...up until the minute you turn that lease in, you can buy more miles for it. It's cheaper to buy them than pay for 'em after you turn it in. They normally send out a rep to inspect the car a month or so before the turn in date. They inspect the car. normally...if any damage is smaller than a credit card size...they wont hit you for it...oh, and the glass has to be in good shape...

I think Rob might have been testing the alky on himself first, the carbs later... :yelrotflmao:

Jared...you got them carbs sold? I'm working on a guy's bike by my house....and his carbs are pretty well stripped up/worn out... Let me know...I'd love to have a newer set to work on...one of his makes me real nervous trying to thread his TORS removal caps onto these things.... I'll PM him if you got 'em still..
-
JLM...Rob (gasman) is as honest a cat as they come, no junk....
-
Stock reeds? (Metal) soak 'em in gas... I think a composite or carbon fiber reed might delaminate in PROLONGED soakings....maybe not. I use brake cleaner, dries on it's own...
-
No...sell 'em. Someone with OEM cylinders and bigger carbs can use 'em. I bought 'em for my cub, never used 'em, and still got back 75% of my money for them, better than nuthin!!! Yeah, tell me about it...those jugs are mezmerizing...

I agree on the hosing at the end of the lease. For me to buy my truck, it'd be like 19,800 or so. For anyone else on the street....16K...not fair.

I bought my grand cherokee in 01...I had literally two payments left and the tranny went. I bought it off another person's lease with 42K on it. I've never done a thing to it, other than oil changes, tires, brakes...the only out of the ordinary thing I had to put on was a power steering pump, no biggie. I turned it in with 160K miles. I got about 600 more than what I owed on it, and leased my new RAM. Total crap shoot, either way you look at it. Before my Jeep, I bough a Ford Ranger off my dad, 88. Had 142K on it when I bought it, I donated it still running with 277K actual miles. I put a tranny in it, clutch...and the normal maintenance stuff. I figured after being that lucky two cars in a row, I'm not getting that lucky a 3rd time. So...the good is you'll have a new car every two or 3 years, never have to worry about a big repair being out of warranty... Bad is you will always have a payment, and have to watch your miles. I bought more miles because I drive more than the normal 12K a year they give you, I'll probably still be over the miles. It's just nice to walk in and drive out with a new car every few years... The auto industry is hurting so bad right now (and with me being from the Detroit area, We feel it more) you can get 0% financing and/or killer lease deals, whichever you choose. They are damn near giving them away.... Your choice... As long my milage stays reasonable, I'll lease from here on out...until I'm ready to retire. Otherwise, I'd buy an off lease or year old vehicle. Sorry, I'm not driving off a lot losing several K right off the bat.

I've got a +6 for sale...>LOL. Seriously, what mods do you have to warrant a longer swinger? IMO, you don't need a longer swinger until you start to get into porting...
-
You guys missed it. He's got a 1 into 2 intake. And in that case, yes...a SINGLE 35PWK will be perfect... D'oh...sorry, I missed the bottom part ... Yes, stick with some 30's to 33PWKs, or get a single 35PWK. I think you'd be happy with that for MX Trails.
-
Mine did....had a NASTY base leak on the left side...still held good compression.

Several ways to skin that cat. You don't have to have a pingel.... I'm running a stock fuel valve, and a 45 dollar snowmobile style Mikuni hi flow fuel pump. I'm not taking chances... Of course, you need fuel pump style carbs for it, but...39PWK fuel pump carbs used can be had for under 300 most of the time... You can get a pingel, larger bowls, remove a float...etc. For the simplicity of a fuel pump though, they're hard to beat.

Dunno...you throw in a keg of Bud Light, and he might take it...LOL

Happy birfday dog... Hit it twice with consent, after that it's all good no matter what the age. If all else fails...she was drinking at the bar you were at....how were you supposed to know?

Replied. And...for all. My buddy would rather sell it locally, or have someone willing to meet him very close by. Unless the buyer wanted to pay for ALL shipping and make ALL arrangements, he just doesn't have time to drop it off, etc....

Listing a banshee for my buddy. He lost interest, snowmobiling is more his thing. We're located in SE MI area, he lives in Warren, MI. It's a suburb just north of Detroit. He has a clean/clear title 98 banshee. He bought it last year, and it was stock, I mean bone stock. Down to the original air cleaner and stock hand grips. Since then, I've installed personally: Black Toomey T5 pipes with Cobra Spark Arrestors on back. Removed the airbox, put the coolant bracket in place and put Pod Filters on it. Removed the TORS from the carbs. Jetted (although, it's jetted for the summer...so, it needs to be richened up, as said...he's a snowmobiler..) It's got Razr 2 tires on it all around, probably 50 to 60 miles on them...and these tires are in GREAT shape. Brand new Barnett Clutch with 3 HD springs and 3 stock springs. It is yellow/black/gray. Full plastics still on it. Other than the normal scratches on the plastic and paint from being ridding in trails, it is in great, great shape. As said, it could probably use a little adjusting as I jetted it for 70 degree weather. He's had nothing but 32:1 Klotz R50 run through it...and one weekend of riding on the tranny oil. He's looking to get 2500 or best. Clean, straight frame.... let me know...I can get pics put up and sent out to those interested.... Dave

Where are you located? My buddy is selling his, and it was BONE stock early last year. I did ALL of the work on it, it's nearly a new bike. Just pipes, no airbox...Pod filters and the TORS removed. I'm in SE Michigan....interested? This bike needs nothing but fresh gas and a visit to a car wash...and a rider. A stock motor, piped and jetted banshee is a great starter bike....then the addiction begins. He's looking for 2500 or best offer, clean/clear title.

22cc to 23cc is stock. I've read a machinist's post on here, and he said he's seen stock head range from 24.5 to 21.2 or something. 22 to 23 is supposed to be stock..roughly. I'd say you're probably safe with 21cc domes and straight 93 octane pump gas. I'm not a big fan of additives either...especially in a two stroke with premix in the tank...
