  1. First of all, Paul Turner pipes are a waste on that motor....get better pipes as money allows. Second, your pilot is WAY fat....the fact that you have to turn out the air screw 3.5 turns is evident of that. Main sounds sorta close. get a 48 and a 50 pilot, 1.5 turns out on the air screw...start there. Also need to check your ignition, ohm the stator, ohm the plug caps or replace them, fresh gas and oil, fresh spark plugs, etc. I'm assuming this bike ran before...etc. Did you do a compression and leak down test? Is this a fresh build? Where in MI are you?
  2. Tough call, I'll disregard the pic on the right because of the blade hitting.... The ring looks bigger than 2mm, which normally means rich, but it's hard to tell from those photos. I'd like to see ALL of the threads removed, and a cleaner picture. If anything...they look a hair rich, which...is fine, but....better pic would be nice.
  3. I have. Meet Mrs. Money Pit....
  4. Don't get a cheap tester... Compression tester and torque wrenches are two tools I won't go cheap on. What size domes do you have? And, when you put the cub together, did you bother to check the squish?
  5. Don't forget lockup clutch, override tranny....etc. That's exactly why I bought my second bike...a used 400EX off a friend. Great for trails, fun to wheelie...fun to jump and beat on, pull up to the pump and fill up, then turn a key and push a button to start it. I've got the best of both worlds....it just takes two quads...LOL.
  6. Hey....Ragin....good to see you over here. I can answer your question honestly and truthfully from experience... Get your stockers ported. And sell your T6 pipes for a pipe that likes extensive porting better. T6 are a great pipe. For stock and slightly ported motors. A cub is a LARGE commitment, period. It's not just a motor, it's a clutch, tranny work, higher flowing carbs, bigger exhaust, longer swing arm...etc. You can try to neuter it down for playing around and trails...but the bottom line is it will always be a lightwswitch dune/drag style motor. No power at all in lower RPMs, you can make some of that up with Timing and compression, but...you want pump gas. So...throw those right out the window....then...at about 6500 or 7000 RPM, it'll yank you by the collar....and start pulling and pulling.... A cub motor is not a good choice for a play bike. It is a great choice for a serious duner and drag racer...which, it is clearly not all you want to do. And a stock swinger on any size cub is pretty worthless, to be honest... You can save money and get your stockers ported and you'll be much happier with the cost and power delivery in the end.... I know the guys over on E2S like eviltwin and Passion...but, call a half dozen builders, get their pricing, see how backed up they are...and see how comfortable you are talking to them on the phone, how well they answer your questions...etc. You get what you pay for...and customer service should be at the top of the list.
  7. NO...O'Connor could at least sing...LOL.. :yelrotflmao:

    Also Wanted

email [email protected] He had a complete motor, just needed oil on ebay, see if he's still got it. I just dropped off my frame, swingers, tires, etc. at his house...he's got a bunch of stuff.

Same guy I posted for in this one, Greg... Dave is a great guy (aside from having a cool name...LOL ) Take care of him...please!!! http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74111
  10. I think the jetting you have now will be pretty close, if not a hair lean for 4500 feet. at or near sea level, you should probably be around 320 to 350 on your mains. No one can tell you the exact jetting, we can just go on the averages of our own experiences... Here's how to do your plug chop to dial in mains: http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html
  11. Holy chit was that funny, Brad.... Yeah, not to mention...if you go drag porting, you'll want at least 35MM carbs, too...no sense in getting all that exhaust out quicker if you can't get more in.
  12. You will not make as much power as a cub with this setup. With extensive porting, I've seen an LA Sleeve motor run well. I think for about half of that, you could get a good strong dune port for your motor that will make you happy. Also, are you prepared for bigger carbs, mid to top end pipes, longer swinger, chain, gearing, tires, etc??
  13. I know who you are, and my buddy will vouch for you being on PS. I almost bought your used 7mil cub that needed replating... As Said, I'm asking for a friend who doesn't post much here.... I'll have him PM you... Thanks, Holeshot....
  14. Looking for a friend and fellow board member. He needs a set of bigger carbs, preferably 33PWKs, but...will entertain 35s and 34 PJs... Need a cable with them, if possible. C'mon guys...what ya got for me? Ellison, you still got those 34s?
  15. Not sure, but bansh-eman had a lonestar 4 over, I think....PM him see if he's still got it.
  16. I'd say their power delivery is good for flat track. Their design would cause you to be smacking your knees on them constantly... Ellison, would you agree?
  17. How much to sell them outright, and what do they come with?
  18. NO disrespect to Ellison, but if you race cross country and MX, you don't want these pipes, trust me. You'll be smacking your knees on them, etc. from moving around on the bike so much. They're a good dune and drag pipe when you're not constantly positioning your body....but they are most definitely in the way for a mobile pilot...
  19. And sold they are....thanks a ton!!
  20. If you put a hole in a piston, it won't start.... Pull the plugs, then pull the head to double check.
  21. At that elevation with NO airbox lid, 260 or 270 should be about perfect!!
  22. Reeds and mill your stock head.
  23. If it leaned out and smoked a piston, your cylinder head would be the least of your worries. If you pulled out the pistons AFTER this last time and saw NO metal or aluminum on them...hmmm...a broken piston will leave some kind of deposit on the spark plug. Get a compression gauge to confirm your thoughts...then, pull the head.
  24. He said gas...gas on...I thought the same thing. The only reason I said run the bowls dry is because he was on a long 5th gear WOT run. If not...could be in the ignition, I'd remove the stator side cover, check there, check for burned wires, check the pickup gap, etc.... If you got a pingel and are on gas...hmmm....could be...but probably not likely. Still, wouldn't rule it out. Have you held it WOT in 5th for a long time before without issue?
  25. What exactly is the mod quad system? does it remove the lid or airbox itself? San Antonio is pretty flat and warm...so, we need to know exactly what kind of airbox mod it is...
