  1. Out of frame pipes still need the stinger tube on the end of the pipe to run properly... I still say 17cc domes are hurting your top end, do you know how much compression you have? The expansion chamber is larger too...
  2. If it's not traction, either the motor is worn out (in which it'd have to be very, very worn out) or it is in a terrbile state of tune. If you're only concerned with doing wheelies...you should've kept the blaster or bought a 400EX....they're the king. Keep in mind, the center of gravity is WAY different on a shee than a blaster, it's a lot longer bike and wider wheelbase.
  3. No...triple ported have a smaller exhaust port cut on either side of the main exhaust port. You're talking about boost ports, finger ports or "boysen" ports...
  4. A few PSI at very best. Here's a relative chart near the bottom from Dave noss. http://www.nossmachine.com/banshee_heads.htm
  5. Yes...however, if anyone pisses me off, I only have to go to my back yard to get ammo...LOL...
  6. Yeah, and as soon as she turned around and left, I'd have surprises everywhere, and no furniture, curtains or end tables to match....
  7. You did happen to mention to her they are 2, full grown St. Bernards.....right? No Chihuahua here buddy...LOL...
  8. Get 19cc domes, 17's are probably hurting your top end. Mess with the timing, mess with the gearing. If you're already drag ported, I honestly dont' see the benefit from getting a tripple port done on top of that. In fact...unless the guy that originally ported the motor will do a tripple port, good luck. Not many builders are excited about working off of someone else's ideas. You could always put a 4 mil crank, cut the head and get new pistons and you wouldn't be able to tell from the outside ...it'll probably give you a 5 to 7% gain....and it'd be cheaper and easier than a triple port. 17cc domes are helping out of the hole, but the motor is fighting itself on the very top end. You can put 19ccs in, let it rev further, and give it a hair more timing to make up for some of it.
  9. Yup...what he said... Still...some people enjoy seeing how far they can push an OEM cylinder, and A&S cylinders run....
  10. Nope...Jeff's secret is out. he builds big motors and "claims" they're smaller motors. Last I heard...he has a 1500 cc busa motor in his Raptor and is still claiming it's the 700 with EFI...that's the rumor anyways... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: Tell your old lady to watch your kid, my dogs and my house for the weekend...and consider me in...
  11. I've seen full on drag ports drop 10 lbs...20 seems a bit high. I would ask the guy who ported it how high he raised your exhaust
  12. Either head should have about the same squish...however, smaller cc domes will effect compression. If the squish is WAY off, that can effect compression as well, like .060 or .080 or so...too much.
  13. Um...please explain grinding a piston to get it to fit. That's a new one on me. Also...you need to check squish...before you go any further. .040 to .050 is really optimal. And make sure you check it correctly, parallel with the wrist pin so the piston doesn't "rock" back and forth.
  14. Ok...a few things. What elevation are you at? Are you kicking the bike until it no longer raises the needle...not giving up after 10 kicks? Using a good quality compression gauge? Did you measure piston to wall clearance? What about Ring end gap? Did you check the cc's on the domes? Lastly...and my personal favorite. Did you check the squish? If you're at or near sea level....a .040 milled head on a fresh top end, 130PSI is low. I'm thinking it should be in the 150ish range, give or take.
  15. You west siders and the dunes are KILLING me...I'm damn near on the water over here...LOL. On a total side note, guys...I"m going to try an organize a dune trip for HQ'ers, E2S and PS guys end of Sept., beginning of October. Won't be as busy as a holiday weekend, but those that have been to Bob's lately will attest that the 15 to 25 guys that come to race have a pretty good time!!
  16. You're dead on... You'll be at about 95ish give or take a few HP with that setup and alky. Now...the more important part...how well is your bike gonna get that power to the ground? Lockup, override, longer arm, more paddle, gearing? Dyno is a great tuning tool...but the strip is where it's at. I know what you mean...had a 4 mil on gas last year, went 10 mil on alky straight up drag bike this year... JT went from a 4 mil on full frame/gas to a 4 mil on lightened frame, alky...etc. as well...
  17. Honestly.... Get a set of OEM cylinders with a few bores left on them, have Dan Hull @ A&S Tripple drag port the cylinders. Send them in....and wait for your Christmas present, in 2008. No one builds a tripple port drag motor on an oem cylinder like Dan does...and if setup right, it will beat a ported stock stroke cub. But...it is MUCH easier and quicker to bolt on a ported cub....but there goes your sleeper, OEM look. A well built OEM cylinder on alky will handle 39's on alky, lockup...override...OOF drag pipes all day long...and give a lot of smaller motors fits, again, if setup correctly.
  18. Grind it smooth...powder coat or polish the cases....
  19. Sorry.. I can do one better... http://www.jimssandtoys.com/
  20. Never ran a 46..couldn't tell you. I definitely think you can go up one on the front, though... Make sure you have enough chain. I weigh two fiddy...
  21. JT... get your ass in gear and get the fowlerville hookup going...we just wanna race!!!
  22. Sorry guys...just talked to alcoholbanshee. Bob has a TT event at the compound for the 18th, they're using part of the drag strip for that. See you all on the 25th!!!
  23. I ran 14/42 on my 4 mil cub. Is it on alky? Go bigger up front, like 15 or 16, and a 42 to 44 on back.
  24. I've put less than an hour on one (drag bike, 4 second passes at a time) and had to use a new one. If it's on from the factory...they used silicone. You should use a thin film of silicone on both sides of the gasket as well. Jim @ Jim's Sand Toyz is having a blowout on paddles he's got in overstock. One of the available sizes might fit your needs...call him. http://www.jimssandtoys.com/
  25. Harder than the stator, easier than the jugs and head. get a new side cover gasket...you'll need it. Rebuild the kickstarter while it's off if it is jingling. Herr does good work, you'll be happy! 3 and 3 should be ok...see how it works out. I'd get an EZ Pull lever/perch and get rid of the Parking brake BS while you're at it...
