  1. Dan...are you talking about the new SATA II hard drives...? Last I looked, SATA 1 and IDE were very close to each other... SATA is only rated at 150 Mb/s, IDE either 100 or 133 Mb/s...but the hard drive can only send as much data as the bus can handle...often 66 or 100 Mb/s... Unless you're talking Raptor...the 10K spindle speed sure is nice... If you're gonna do cad and 3d modeling, you don't want a gamer type grahics card, you don't need the performance...you need the accuracy... What kind of card do they call that in the cad/drafting workstations Dan? there's a specific name for them...can't remember, though... I think ATI calls them the Fire series, but I"m not sure...
  2. Jer...please call one of the two numbers I left you. His brother Jonathan is going to handle your issue, he's left me 3 PM's on Planet Sand (he can't log onto HQ, his passwords are different) and YOUR phone number was in his truck when it got impounded. Please call one of the two numbers I PM'd you to call Jonathan so he can straighten this out for you.... He said you never called or left a message at either number... he's trying to do the right thing... If you didn't get my PM with both numbers, let me know...I have them handy.
  3. 16 hours? I'd have enough time to get drunk, pass out...wake up..and get drunk again... WHOO HOO.... I would have to spend a month just planning pranks for a haul like that... All I know is lock your door or don't pass out early...
  4. Yeah...sorry, thanks Brandon, recip mass... I've never run shaved pistons, install 'em and go. My friend JT ran shaved pistons...and broke a skirt I'm pretty sure....
  5. I've never done this in any piston I've ever installed by Wiseco. I've heard of people shaving them down to save weight (rotating mass) and people enlarging intake windows on them to better match up with the intake ports...but never drilling them for oil... The only things that need to get oiled on a two stroke piston is the rings/and pistons, pin and pin bearing. There should be holes in the bottom side of the piston where the pin goes through to lube the pin... All of these get their lube from the premix oil.... Not saying no one has done it...I don't know of anyone that has or why you'd need to.
  6. Leave the mud to the 4X4s...will ya? J/K...glad you're ok... Night rides are a blast, but sometimes you gotta pay the price!

    NFL WEEK 5

9-5 so far before the monday night game.... Can't believe the Bears pulled that game out last night....
  8. Who needs a grill? We'll just auction off Dan to the local hotties and they can pay for our food...
  9. Yep...high of 59 and partly cloudy...better throw some more fuel at the bikes... I don't blame you...since I have new carbs I'm dying to try out...it'll get rained out more than likely... A rain out for a rain out makeup date, go figure....
  10. To be honest, a Clymer can explain how to set toe better than anyone, it has pics, etc. I eyeball my camber and toe, but I only ride in sand...drag racing.
  11. Hell...it cost me, Evan, Sean and Newtz 100 a piece to take a gas 2500 and a 30ft enclosed just to Silver Lake....(Luckily we had free lodging... )... 150 out of town is awesome, give or take... Fire up the BBQ baby...you know that would be a fun trip!!!
  12. Aww...great, here we go....
  13. A Fricken Men to that, Shane... I've been to Silver Lake about 5 times the last two years. The first trips of this year and first trip of last year pretty much sucked banshee riding-wise...issues all around. Luckily this year I got smart and had my 400EX to bomb around on, or else they would've had to have an AA class right there at the dunes for me....LOL.... Other than a wheelie bar and MAYBE a different chassis for next year, I don't plan on doing much.. Well...maybe a little funny gas, never know....
  14. Trinity will get you just about any size of piston you want... cases aren't "trenched" for bigger bores, they're machined.... Cases are trenched for cranks with a longer stroke than 4 mil...so the lower rod doesn't scrape. You can get cubs with the nikasil, which I'd have to say is hands down the favorite, or unplated to accept a sleeve. Once you go bigger than 68 or 70...you do have to machine the cases for a bigger bore. I don't know of anyone running a 70mm piston, but I know the super cubs are 72mm, and the cases have to be machined to accept the bigger bore... With sleeves, anything is possible...
  15. Good luck to you...I understand completely... I cringe starting mine up as well...out of frame drag pipes, etc. If I have to start it at home, I try to do so in the absolute middle of the day....not too early, not too late, and usually never let it run for more than 1 minute or 2.... I did purge at my house a few weeks ago...so, that was 2 to 3 minutes. I try to respect my neighbors as best as I can... Let us know!!!
  16. Ah...no big deal, RZ... This is all about him being the man, me not knowing shit...like he's some Christopher Columbus because he claims his family owns a race/hot rod shop and he does all his own work... In fact, he's doing the same thing I am. Buying parts...assembling a motor. Now if he actually casted and made the parts he's talking about...then I'd be impressed, but he's not. For all I know...they own a "Ben and Mike's" quick oil change shop and he's their Janitor...pretty soon, lube tech... His own admission is once he gets the house done, etc., he'll get the project going again...so, obviously he's not the genius he thinks he is. If he was the man, it'd be done already... And I don't see any track times, dyno sheets, etc....just a bunch of hot air... That whole "I'm a jackass cause I ride on the streets and run from the police cause I'm cool" was a long time ago...he brought things back up, started this shit storm....and I got nothing but time to call him on his BS....
  17. Thanks again 421... Dan...LS is a haul. I really want to do an out of state trip, but it might have to wait till the following year.... I'd really like a second bike to bring out there, and next year I may only make Silver Lake once. trying to get my girl's house fixed up, sold...so we can live at my house...fix it up, sell it...etc. buy a bigger one. Majority of my $ will be going for the houses...and in this shitty market...never know how long it's gonna sit on the market. I'll be at Bob's and Albright as much as I can, but I'm trying to get things sorted for the future...and if that means taking a year off from any travel, so be it.
  18. You must be like 18 years old... Cry me a river you little baby.... first off, I got on a post about Reed Spacers not doing shit...you need them for bigger carbs to clear the clutch arm on stock cylinders. Yeah...I bought a monoblock, so have a ton of people. I would say I'd like to see you get 120HP out of stock cylinders on alky...but, you think you rediscovered the world with your whopping 50.2....so, we all know that's not gonna happen. And YOU have access to a dyno...I don't. I just pay to rent one like everyone else...that's the sad part. Here we go with the car thing again... I'm sure Your family runs a great race shop...for cars. If they're half as retarded and ignorant as you...though...I doubt it. You think because you can get a dyno that say a car has XX amount of HP....you know shit about banshees? I keep hearing about this so called banshee and turbo knowledge...yet, as said...where is it? You think you're the only one that has to buy a house, or have a family, or is busy...? Maybe it's because you like to start the topic (a la stir shit) then basically you don't have a clue how to finish it...hell, probably don't even know where to start.... You think you're cutting new ground cause you're gonna throw a turbo on a banshee?? It was done a LONG time ago...and they're already proven. You're not cutting any new ground there, Columbus....nice try.... Turbo banshees are fast as hell, when they run right, and when they stay tuned. The addition of fuel injection should make that better...but then again, your so called still working on yours. Hell...a genius like you should have this done in a weekend.... Like I said....you don't know shit like you claim to... And YOU started it yesterday with a PM to me. Then your chicken shit ass turned off your PMs before I could respond... Like I've already said...the only thing running is your mouth....that's it. My shit is proven...it's not the fastest, it's not the slowest...but it runs.... When you can say the same about your BANSHEE (not mom and pop's Midas Muffler shop) then post up....so...yeah, put up or shut up. Let's see videos of this 7th wonder of the world... Oh that's right...we won't. Just you flapping your gums at me and Snop.....
  19. An air leak from the reed cages might, but normally...chipped or broken reeds will cause it to backfire, miss..etc., not diesel on you.
  20. If your around Sea Level (which...Grand Rapids is about the same as us, like 800 feet) you should be mid-120's... Good point, pull the fuel valve and make sure the on and reserve screens aren't clogged.
  21. I'll have to ask...dunno...
  22. Diesling is caused by an heat... that heat is caused by an air leak, too lean fuel mixture, too much compression or not enough octane for that compression. Your jetting sounds about right. Maybe a hair rich...but, big deal... So...I'm kinda ruling lean jetting out. Which leads me to an air leak...possible. If he just had the motor done, it is possible he had the head shaved..and they very easily could've shaved it too much. Causing higher compression, which could cause dieseling with not enough octane. If the floats are dumping fuel into the engine...that could cause run on...but unlikely...it would have to be a LOT of fuel... BR8ES gapped .028 to .030 is just fine.... Since you're not 100% familiar with this engine, at the least I'd do a compression check just for sanity's sake...
  23. It's all good...no problem. Always talked about a trip to LS...maybe someday... I'll posting up ride reports, pics and videos of this weekend hopefully...should be a good day!
  24. Sorry to hear man...I understand. I get antsy when I don't ride for a few weeks..and then...there's Winter. I bet that was one fun ass, rippen bike to ride...that handled like an absolute dream with gobs of usable power.... Good luck to ya man...wish ya all the best. Free bump for a nice guy and good stuff for sale....can't go wrong dealing with Broke!
  25. Must not be the same stuff, my buddy swore it was like cement, not RTV... Said you'd be smacking the ever living shit out of the cases with a plastic/wood mallet to separate them...or the cylinders....
