  1. The main should hold it in place, if memory serves me correct...not sure though...doesn't sound like it from how you're describing it.
  2. Free bump for a nice quad and a fellow MI guy... Three to 4 years ago...you could've named your price on that bike. Since the arrivals of the 450 4 pokes, they are not as high on the demand list as they used to be... I would still love to have one for playing around...just a great all around riding bike...   3. Post a few pics... I have ideas...but want to see it for myself before I steer you in the wrong direction. What you're referring to is the dump tube...and they are removable on stockers and Mikuni carbs.
  4. I had them on my stock motor, piped/jetted 96. Good tire...but the Razrs are a better tire. They're more meaty....and bite better. I have older pics of mine at home...I'll try to remember to post one or two up...

  7. There are plenty of builders that will sell you a Cheetah (Power valve) motor. Call one our our site sponsors, or Nate McCoy, Titan Racing, A&S Racing, etc....there are plenty that sell the Cheetah cylinder still....
  8. No...they won't. I had stock carbs and T5 pipes on a 4 mil cub, and it still had NO mid with a lot of compression and a lot of timing... You're choking that motor....either get a power valve motor or build a stock port motor.... What you're attempting to do is build a 502 big block motor and put a 450CFM carb on it with 2 inch exhaust, a catylitic converter and restrictive mufflers.... I just don't get it.... I promise with small exhaust and small carbs it will not change the power band or delivery style of a 4 mil cub. I've done it. All it will do is limit the top end power...it WILL not, I repeat...it will NOT give you more midrange. It will be less than your stock jugs with no porting because of the port layout of the cub cylinder. It had drag port timings out of the box....there is no such thing as a DUNE port on cub cylinders. You can port more HP out of them, but it'll be upper RPM and peak HP.... Save your money, you're not ready for cubs to be honest if you're trying to choke them down. Keep in mind you'll need a better clutch and transmission help as well, and that's just the start. Longer rear swinger, reworked (stiffened) rear shock.... All that power does no good without being able to get it to the ground...

    To be 100% honest, they really haven't played anybody other than Philly...and we don't have luck at Memorial Stadium. This is not the same Bears team that went to the super bowl as last year. However, after the years we've had recently, I will take a 3-1 record and solid 2nd place in the division behind the smoking hot Brett Farve and his Packers... That old man has got it this year.... I gotta say though, I don't think anyone is gonna hang with the Patriots this year. I've been a fan of theirs forever, not just a fair weather fan...( I liked them back in the Bill Parcells/Drew Bledsoe era...and have been a fan since). I've watched two of their games thus far...and they are a complete football team. As long as Moss can keep his big mouth shut and keep out of the spotlight with his off field antics, Brady/Moss are gonna break some more records this year.... Indy and Dallas are gonna be good tests for them, but I can't see them getting beat once Belechick goes into playoff mode. I don't know if they're gonna go undefeated....but they look like a complete team!
  10. Oh boy...here we go. Get the Cheetah motor with powervalve if you want mid range. Cubs have none. I had a 4 mil, I now have a 10 mil. They're great motors....but they have no mid. On a 10 mil 72 bore cheetah setup right, 100HP on race fuel is pretty easy.

    You guys realize that Kitna...the LIONS QB had the highest QB Rating of the whole NFL for week 4? Yeah, higher than Peyton and Brady.... I'm shocked...period.
  14. Sell your stocker and get a 4 mil. For the parts involved and price to do them, you can get a 4 mil...cheaper or just as cheap. The webs are drilled +2 mm of the center line in comparison to a stocker, no one I know will weld and redrill the stock webs, so they have to get 4 mil webs drilled....not worth it after that IMO... A good used 4 mil crank is 300 bucks, give or take. If your stock crank is in good shape, 100 to 175 bucks is what it's worth...

  16. For trail riding? No..not in my opinion... If you mixed it up and rode some dunes or other open area were you can really wick the throttle, than maybe...not just for trails..though. Especially with a -2 swinger...adding power and snap with that might get you in trouble, there's no use having all that power if you're gonna wheelie ALL the time... You got arms and shocks...that's a great start. I'd give it more compression (21cc domes or 20cc domes) a 33PWK 1 into two carb and some MX/Woods porting on those cylinders...that alone would give you more...but usable power IMO>
  17. A 1-6 override can be reliable IF you use it right. You MUST come to a literal complete stop....then down shift. There are other ways to do it...they offer straight cut gears with different ratios allowing you to run different gearing setups. You can get an axle with a Honda Style sprocket hub and run a smaller rear sprocket... I personally wouldn't want to worry about a 1-6 with the other options available... Where do you live in MI? there are good sand tracks all over the state...unless you're a Yooper...then you gotta haul!!

  19. Shake the can before you run... I'm sure if you let it sit it'll separate in cold. I'm positive once you're bouncing around the ice and give it a quick shake...it'll stay mixed...

  22. R50 does NOT blend with alcohol...and I don't suggest using it in purge gas either... I run Benoil with my meth, and I was using R50 in my purge.   23. Wow...how did I miss this thread...? As said, the lube is a 4 stroke thing (giggle all you want Mark, we all know you're a two stroker...LOL).. You're premixing, no need for it. M1 is what I run, VP...but pricey. M3 has the upper end lube and other additives, an oxegenator of some type...as does M5. Not needed for a two stroker... Once again...to be clear... Firehead does recommend using lube... :thumbsup:
  24. Do a search...it's been a hot topic. Don't forget, Ethanol is corrosive, not as much as methanol, but more so that you can't just let it sit in your tank and carbs... There's a good topic on this already, don't just buy it and dump it in, you will require jetting changes, etc... Even though it's cheaper, you will go through more of it than gas...so, weigh that too.
  25. 350-part-guy.. No one here is trying to be an ass....there have been quite a few shady characters lurking here lately. And some long time members have been ripped off from their hard earned money. Just as you've spent your dough on your bike, as do we...and you're new here. You gotta earn trust in this family, that's all...don't be offended..we all look out for each other. Look in the feed back area of the forum, read some of the BS other members here have gone through lately.... We've just got each other's back. It doesn't take too long to type out what you have, in what kind of shape...and prices as well. Pictures are always a plus, but...please at least start out with what you got and how much you want. That's all we're asking....
