I had a very potent 4 mil cub with no lockout, and it's the same clutch I'm using now on it's 4th year.
Your problem wasn't a lockout either...it was worn or mis-adjusted components, or cheap clutch kit.
With the override you have, it only makes sense to get a lockout...but,
I still strongly disagree that you need an lockup for a 4 mil stock cylinder bike if it's not going to be a strict drag race bike.
A FAST clutch with HD springs held in my 4 mil cub just fine, JT's clutch has held up over the test of time, too...
