  1. Get the one from Fast. It has metal in the middle so it won't rip...and can be reused. Or, you can put a thin coat of RTV on both sides of the gasket, let it semi-dry, and assemble it. That will help it resist tearing as well
  2. Yeah, I'm in this hurry for a wheelie bar...and sure enough, not gonna be able to ride. Go figure....
  3. Being 220 and having an average stock, 4, 7 or 10 mil motor....without NOS or any other power adder, 3.999 is quite an accomplishment on a stock or suspended, lightened chassis.... I just didn't want to see you get your hopes up....that's all. It would be beyond impressive.
  4. Since it is clearly, without a doubt, 100% illegal, yeah...I have a problem with it. If they made it legal, I couldn't give a flying shit. I relate it this way. I'm a pretty safe driver. I stop for stop signs. Some asshole blows through it. Illegal? Yep. Did he get caught...that is the question. People do it....and when you're not someone that breaks the law....you get a little satisfaction when those that do get caught. Ever see someone zip by you on the freeway doing 100MPH plus. Only to drive down the road 10 minutes later and smokey has 'em pulled over.... Justification.... You broke the law, you pay for it. Do the crime, do the time.... Just like anything in life, baseball, atvs, etc. Don't cry about getting caught breaking the law.... I got a speeding ticket a few months ago. First ticket in probably 7 or 8 years. Cop was cool, I knew I was speeding trying to get in front of a semi to get on the freeway. My fault, I took my lumps, and that was that. No crying or blaming the system...my fault, I accept that.
  5. Jeff @ FAST Racing, a site sponsor. www.farmandsandtoys.com or Shop # 785-364-5325
  6. Pull the reeds off and check them for gaps or burnt pedals. If it only does it when it warms up and been riding for a while, it's the CDI, Coil or stator. Electrical problems usually rear their ugly head when things heat up. For giggles, replace the stock plug caps with NGK ones. They are a few bucks each, factory coils usually don't go bad...but the stock plug caps are junk. Get a Nology w/ Hotwires if you go aftermarket. They are flat out a great coil.
  7. After a little more time, yeah...it's worth it. There's one track you're in a gold mine...and you go up and down these rail car tracks, reminds me of a wooden roller coaster...it's bad ass. Learn to use the bikes. They are faster, believe it or not... I'm getting better. NOT great, but better... Here's the key...hold the steering wheel upright instead of tilting it forward/flat. The remote will turn more accurate if you're holding the wheel straight up and down vs. tilted. It's worth the price, it's a lot of fun!!
  8. Well...supposed to pretty much rain all week. Roger...I'll catch up with ya later this week to see how much you ACTUALLY got vs. what the weather channel says. I'll call Bob Thursday or Friday to see how the track and things are holding up. I got a bad feeling with the cooler temps and the rain we might have a no go...hope I'm wrong, I'm itching to ride BIG TIME!!
  9. not even... With a good light rider on a good hooking track, 3.9 or 3.8...and that's on a very good run.
  10. What's done to your bike and where did it run a 3.72?
  11. I thought I read a few pages back you're 220 lbs, is that right? You're not getting a 4 mil cub to run 3.72s, period. If you had a super light drag frame, a 75 lb rider and everything on that bike was tuned to perfection, it would still be damn near impossible. Trust me on this one, don't set the bar so high. You'll have a low 4 second bike.....
  12. Is that some new fangled engine component engineer boy....? :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
  13. Get rid of both. Find the black/white striped wire in the harness, hook a tether kill to that and a frame ground. Done...pull the tether when you want to kill it.
  14. Not to mention, it's a handful in it's own chassis. Shorten and narrow that up to a blaster frame? No thanks...
  15. Greg...we will author the small word version with pictures and crayons for you...
  16. You rookies...none of this works without the flux capacitor and 1.21 jiggawatts... Or Mr. Fusion.
  17. Easy...put a 10 mil spacer plate in, deck 5mil off the top. Sheesh...and I thought you were a smart guy....
  18. Yep...offset the cheap cylinders with 600 to 650 for a new 10 mil crank, and 75 to 125 plus shipping to have cases trenched...plus another hundo for the head to be cut. So...Probably a grand or so with the cylinders. Then you get to worry about the tranny, clutch, swingarm, suspension, etc. Unless you have the funds to commit to it, I'd let it pass. It is not a bolt on solution by ANY means...
  19. If you're going to be drag racing a 4 mil cub, you want a lockup and override tranny. No iffs ands or butts about it!
  20. Wait...let someone else who buys your crank true and weld it.
  21. No problems with the VF3s JD. Ran them all year in my bike, no issues...
  22. Ahhh...very interesting, Cody. I'm gonna have to pick it up maybe this weekend...I read the whole last book on the can...LOL. You can only look at Playboy and Maxim for so long....they're really not that good of reading. LOL. I will...when I read it, I'll come back and give my revised view....
  23. Laid off work...hitting the crown a little early....I see how you are.... I think JD is just running an OEM motor, he'll probably be fine with just a pingle...but I wouldn't run real long distances...say over 400 or 500 feet... Hell, I've always run fuel pumps, I always cheat....LOL.
  24. The fact you gotta flow twice as much alky as gas, I'd hate to find out the hard way... Roger seems to think so, and he probably has more experience with this stuff than all of us put together. However...It's a pretty safe bet on longer runs in the dunes he's gonna need more fuel. So, chance it now....or Pingel now cause he's gonna need it later. If time and money are the issue...I'd say wait for Bob's, then get one before the first dune trip. But I'd definitely have one by SL time!! There's a dual pingle on ebay for 70 plus shipping. I think they normally retail for 75 to 80 (Plus shipping...) You normally don't see too many for sale on the boards, or they're already attached to a tank..
