Just go to Craigs list, search Banshee in your area...see what comes up. crack heads selling stock silencers (only 10 years old) with two seasons on them for 75 bucks...all kinds of good stuff. Best laugh I've had in a while...fo sho!!

Used about 100 hours, deal of the century... http://detroit.craigslist.org/rvs/714643631.html

Yep...that will make the difference right there. Gearing more so than the reeds, but I'm with you 100%. I still wouldn't rely on a side by side pacing with a car, they got all the protection, you don't in case something goes wrong...
-
At 85MPH on your buddies car...yep, could very easily be a difference. Take it to a track or get a radar gun....they're a helluva lot easier than someone trying to pace you in a car, and just a hair safer, too...
-
Not to sound like a smart ass...but.... On my buddies bone stock, BONE stock bike with about 25PSI in the tires we took it to Milan Dragway 1/4 mile. It ran 74MPH top end, which it was topped out at 1/8 mile. We removed all the plastics, it went 77MPH. bone stock, 96. He weighed 140 lbs at that time.
-
As in bone stock, sock gearing, stock pipes, stock tires, with fenders on? No way. Sorry. Unless you were running down hill, wind at your back and you weigh 30 lbs.
-
You are always welcome to take it for a ride:) I'm fence sitting on tomorrow morning to be honest. If the track is gonna be muddy...I'm going to pass. We'll have to see how much rain they get over night. If very little, I'll be there. If it's much more than that...I'll probably pass!!

Your stocker motor makes my cub look bad...hell no, that thing hauls...
-
For the dunes, absolutely, especially at Silver Lake. If you're gonna ride hard pack trails that are wide open with long straights, it may pull that 15 tooth all the way through 6th, hard to say.... drag...thank you. Lot of hard work, and moreso money into this baby...and worth every penny to me.

With those mods, you'd be lucky to be at 40 HP. Here's a calculator for your speed. regardless of how much HP your motor has, or the mods done, it can only go as fast as the RPMs it can turn, the tire size, and gearing. http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/banshee.htm If that motor will spin to 9500 and PULL all of 6th gear, it will do 90 MPH. If that motor is not ported, it will not pull a 15 tooth front sprocket, 10 paddle tires all the way through 6th gear... With that setup in sand, probably 80 MPH is all you'll hit...if you can find a distance long enough, flat enough and straight enough.

Ray, I"m just going to be honest and say what a lot of us have talked about. The store looks good. You need to lower the prices. You have top dollar listed for everything...and half the stuff is junk. You don't have the technical knowledge or ability to properly assess a lot of the used items you sell. I can give you two perfect examples. The cranks for sale. You don't know what they need. And a box of parts I bought off you for the crank, and only the crank...it was supposed to be a 4 mil stroker crank. It wasn't. And you said basically it's "What you were told"... To be 100% fair. You made that up to me no questions asked...and I greatly appreciate that. You can't sit there and honestly tell me you don't have to relist a lot of your stuff a few times... You have the ability to move so much volume of parts, the little bit of $$ you take off the parts to reduce per part profit would be overshadowed by the amount of volume you can move. If you reduced pricing a bit and actually had the technical ability to get accurate information on some of the internal engine parts, etc., you could make an absolute killing....and I'm sure it'd be less headache for you.... Just being honest with ya man.... -
Anybody happen to notice one shock is upside down?? Make sure it runs. If it does, take it....as long as it's not stolen and clean....
-
Awesome. Let's figure out how to ship the Pick tires to you as well. I'd like to see you run them on a track there. 1 pick pulled through, what guys normally do is dismount the tire, patch the inside with a piece of roofing shingle...then put it back together. Obviously, they are tubed tires. Let me know what you want to do....
-
That's a good point, normally they vibrate under load, but bearings could be bad...
-
It's gonna cost nothing to take the ignition side off, and 20 to 30 bucks to take the clutch side off (gasket, coolant and gear oil/ATF) to at least take the clutch apart...etc. and inspect it. I would at least go that far. If the crank was out of true, you'd feel it more so revving up....NOT only on the decel. YOu won't feel it if it's separating, unless it's real bad...and the same above applies, NORMALLY!! I would at least check out the easy stuff on either side of the motor!
-
Those charts are confusing as all hell...don't feel bad at all. I had to sit there and decipher it for 10 minutes...LOL. Get one of the needles fouledout suggested.
-
Rings seat in 5 minutes.. I'm not saying you haven't done any damage to the crank, separating it to the point of lockup would be considered damage IMO... 15cc domes? Unless that guy rode at 8000 feet above elevation, he was wasting his time with those small of domes. You might have shift forks starting to go....
-
Re-read that chart. It has a lean taper. It has a rich L1 length, and has a lean overall length...
-
Ricky Stator coil, CDI and Stator? You might as well kick yourself in the balls twice.... The PWK28 carb might share the PWK moniker, but it jets nothing like the larger PWK series. I'd see what other guys are running for needles in those carbs. If you have OEM stator, coil and CDI, I'd use those and start over....electrical issues will have you chase jetting all day long to no avail...
-
I've seen stockers separate... Raising the compression only increases your chance. Does it vibrate all the time, in gear, with the clutch pulled in or let out...?? Does the vibration get worse as the RPMs raise... Here's a couple things to look for.. Out of balance or improperly seated flywheel (did you recently have it lightened, or do you have a timing advance degree key?) Stock cranks are splined, it's damn near impossible to put it out of phase. Normally..when it separates, it won't vibrate like you're talking about....it'll just lock up. Could be loose or worn gears or cushions on the clutch... Time to tear both side covers off and start inspecting.

"Normal gains are 3/4 to 1 HP per 100 cc of engine displacement. (Rejetting and tuning are required). " Yeah, I think I'll pass....

Got a link to what this thing is?
-
Yep. One of two things. Get an aftermarket thumb throttle that has more throw (Chariot makes a nice one, click on my sig) or take the top off yours, where the back of the arm hits, grind that off so it clears. A lot of guys with stock thumb throttles have to grind the back of the throttle out for 39PWKs, I can't imagine the 41Mikunis being any different.

How would you know...you guys all have stock strokes down there..... :yelrotflmao:
