  1. Good lookin...sure is a nice looking Full Bore grille you have there. Do I own the rights to it...should I be looking for a royalty check in the mail? Ha ha...just playing with ya bro... Thanks for all you do, looks good!!
  2. You need to do a few things. First...check for air leaks, second, check and see what jetting you have in the carbs...
  3. I personally wouldn't run a lockup on a stock tranny. They shift like shit as is...adding more power and RPM to that only magnifies that. Lockup and override go together like PB and J...
  4. 250R was a better frame than a banshee, hands down...and a starting point for the 450R....
  5. One thing you guys didn't mention is power delivery and where the bike is gonna be run. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for proper suspension setup, etc, but the power/engine and suspension/drivetrain work as one. After you put all that money in suspension for the banshee, you still have a 20 year old frame and a screaming two stroke twin.
  6. You want 2:1 gearing if your bike will pull it in the 1/4. So...yeah, 18/36 or such... You can shave a LOT of weight off that bike (I weigh what you do...so, I'll keep my mouth shut about rider weight...lol)
  7. No...but our mayor is so Gangsta...we put him in Jail...does that count? Hard core....LOL.
  8. Please shrink the sig pic you have. We've all seen that slut....and it's taking up almost the whole screen!! Thanks.
  9. Nice... Intakes tract should not be polished as said, it causes the gas to bead up instead of atomize for proper combustion... You can polish the exhaust...but, carbon tends to stick to it anyways.... A nice smooth intake and exhaust track is what you want, polishing might look cool for a pic, but it's not helping performance. The size/shape/timing of the ports is where the power is.
  10. I will be picking one up as well when I tear mine down, freshen it up for the 2009 season. Almost half the price of a Pro Design, and other products I've had/used/use from Chariot has been top notch. The fact he's a MI guy, well...that's icing on the cake...LOL.
  11. Good point....OEM minor stuff, they stock EVERYTHING...
  12. I was reading through someone's feedback on Ebay, needed a few laughs. This is actually on one of their feedbacks: Buyer: Fenders were a bit more "used" than described Seller: used the payment at a topless bar and the money didnt spend as good as i thought That is just awesome!!!
  13. Good call Jarid.... It is always a possibility...or other weak ignition component not able to burn fuel causing it to near hydrolock and push the plug out...
  14. They must have lax drug use laws over in the UK... Slap an override in that motor and you'd have a Stout drag motor for sure. The only problem is I see is if the billet second is RZ ratio or stock banshee ratio...regardless, though..that motor will pull it no issues.
  15. For light, sugar fluffy sand, I say 9 paddle, if the sand you ride in is heavier and more hard packed, I say 8 is fine on a 4 over swinger... 4 mil cubs on gas are no joke...80 plus HP EASY... and they hit like a ton of bricks. You'll have your hands full once it gets too much bite on a 4 over arm. Mine was a handful on 6 over... Keep in mind also...with an extreme, you'll get a little more bite than your haulers as well. The paddle height is the same, but the extreme are thicker and do not fold over as easily.
  16. Wide open, aggressive trails...the 450 has the better suspension and more power. But for tight, tight trails...I'd rather be on a 400EX. The YFZ 450 is more like a two stroke. Sure it has lots of power and torque when compared to a banshee, but...it makes the majority of it's power higher up in the RPMs. The Hondas are more "traditional" type 4 stroke power. I haven't rode a Green or Yellow 450 yet to comment on either, but....the LT with tires, exhaust and a cherry bomb is a pretty stout rig from what I've heard/read...
  17. Try different carbs.. checked to see if the crank is out of phase?
  18. Some day...I might build a duner again. My next quad will be something for the misses, in the line of a Rhino, Polaris...or something else big, 4X4 and automatic (a pit bike for me...as well, if she's not on the trip...lol) If I ever get there...I'll hit ya up.
  19. I forgot all about them. They make a fine crank...
  20. Wiseco will not do anything for you. You'd have to have proof beyond a reasonable doubt it is not your fault. In other words... Measure any and all clearances, proove the jetting, ignition timing and fuel quality were all up to snuff...just to name a few. Unless you kept detailed records of this AND were a big name shop, they're not going to do anything for you... I've never personally had a wrist pin or pin bearing fail...but there's a first time for everything... Just double check your installation. I'd like to see pics of the pistons, top side and underneath the piston dome, cylinders, rods, what kind of oil, fuel, compression, etc....
  21. I wouldn't be bringing my bike... Too much to ship or drive out there. I'd fly out and borrow one of 7 or 8 bikes my buddy has out there. My bike as is would be a turd, and it's flat out not setup to run a hill. It's a flat drag bike. However...with the new Chassis I'm getting.....LOL.
  22. Presidents day is in February, right? There is about a 20% chance I might be there....if things work out.
  23. Guy on PS ran them out of the box and said they were no different than mildly ported set of stockers... So in other words...they're not out of the box great cylinders, a la CP stuff. The difference in performance between CPI and Shearers is so miniscule... When you say you outran a CPI bike....that only means they had CPI pipes on it. Does that mean both bikes have all the exact same mods, same state of tune, same tires, gearing, rider weight...etc? I doubt pipes alone made the difference there. Ultimately, it's up to the builder... Sorry to get off topic...
  24. If I had a spare set of cylinders laying around...I'd let Mopar port a set. I've read his posts, and he seems pretty knowlegeable. Does that necessarily mean he can port a set of cylinders? No....but I'd give him a shot on a set of near end of life cylinders just to see and try his work. I'm not going to say BHQ has made Kevin, Jeff or Jim...but it has certainly increased their business and their reps. They all started somewhere too....
  25. This topic of which is better has been beaten to death. Here's my point every time. Show me how an offset key is stronger than a standard one, and show me a timing key that can be adjusted in increments from 0 to 12 (past the 10 on the plate).... When a 10 or 15 dollar key can do that compared to a 40 dollar plate (shipping...)...I will stock up on keys.
