  1. You rarely, RARELY find a used cub ready to go for 500 dollars, let alone with pistons. I'm on the forums, I'm on ebay, I'm on craigslist...that's a rarity. By the time he waits for that deal, he could save for more. If you're serious about getting into drag racing banshees, get an override tranny and a lockup for the clutch. There is no other way... If you think they're a PITA, you either got a poorly cut one....or...a poorly cut one. A dunable override is the best thing since sliced bread!!
  2. If this is a new guy, I'd ditch that 6 speed override. That's a whoops waiting to happen...otherwise, depending on what the reserve is, that's a stout package. Unless it's a dunable 1-6...which, costs more than he's asking for the motor right now so I doubt it...
  3. Nice looking rides, good luck on the sale. If the drag bike's carbs use the choke to set the idle, they're PJs...if they have a black plastic or brass screw threaded into the carb slide, they're PWKs....just for your information.... Clean bikes, good luck!!
  4. Reserve is not met....
  5. That is a very nice bike, no doubt.... However... Based on his pricing, I can get probably about 20Gs for mine. If he's going to add retail price to everything on there, include the NEW list price of a banshee as well....based on that, I think I'm in for 20Gs or so.... Who wants to buy my bike???? That bike will NEVER sell for half of that, period. Wish him luck...but he's smokin good stuff.
  6. My local aco and ace hardware, as well as Home Depot and Lowes all carry stainless metric allen bolts as you speak about. I replace every phillps head bolt I can when working on these things with allen head stainless...so much easier to work with.
  7. Can be done...but, by the time you wait for the steals you're gonna need to find with that budget, you could save more money. Drag porting isn't cheap, nor is bigger carbs or pipes. What about a beefier clutch, lockup and override?
  8. I'll say... I have a stocker that needs the nubs cleaned up a bit.... I'd like to have it cut just to see, without ruining my current one!
  9. Try a different gauge, name brand quality like a craftsman, snap on, MAC, etc.
  10. Especially for a heavier guy or so I'm told as well. I'm going to try a lightened flywheel myself one of these days....
  11. Very interesting thread. That bike should leave in second no problems, dumping the clutch or feathering it out....it has enough motor, compression and is ported. Should be a rocket...something very simple is not right. Travis...on our tracks, as Shayne said, more PSI is more spin. I've see other posts where guys said more PSI makes the blade stiffer and flex/fold less. Our tracks (all three of them) tell us otherwise, based on time slips and 60fts. Dunes...however, is a different story. Not groomed, deeper and finer sand, no clay/dirt mixed in. Sometimes you have to put more pressure in the tires to dig down past the fluffy stuff... I usually start with 6-8PSI in my tires and drop them down till my 60 foot times come around....and 90% of the time I'll end up with 2.0 to 4.0 PSI. Now....when Ionia was rained out and it was muddy/thick soup, I ended up with about 8 to 9 PSI because it hooked so hard, even the big motor bikes would just bog out of the whole, no matter how much you slipped the clutch out.
  12. Here... Once you get a drivers license, you can take a written test for motorcycles. Once you pass that, you have a restricted MC license. You can't ride double, you can't ride at dark, and have to ride with a person that has the full mc endorsement at all times. This allows you to drive to the road test with a buddy... Then you take your test. Check if you have something similar... If not, either trailer your bike to the road test, or...where I took mine, you could rent a moped (no...not kidding) for an extra 25 bucks or something like that.
  13. Astaire and Camo Cough...damn that's funny....
  14. IMO...28PWKs would be a better carb.
  15. I'll be contacting you to buy 1 shortly. If it is up to snuff as you say, I will probably get 10 to 20 more...
  16. Problem with Paypal is if they have no money in their account, even if they rule in your favor, they just freeze the account. MOST people have gotten their stuff from him, as I understand it...he works on an oil rig or something along those lines. He's gone for months at a time. That being said...he shouldn't be able to sell stuff and get away with what he has been doing. If you're going to sell something, it needs to arrive in a timely fashion. If I can ship parts overseas and have it arrive and clear customs in 2 weeks...he should be able to ship or have someone ship for him....since he's getting paid. It's BS.
  17. 6 inches of ice to be safe JD. Fatten that pig up....
  18. Founding father of FAST nuthuggers...that's great....LOL... If you don't want to reveal your source...fine...being a dealer for a lot of different brands, I understand. But don't spout a price you're not prepared to backup, that's all. I can't see how you're getting one assembled for 180 considering Wiseco itself pays more than that for rods, webs and shafts, and that's a fact. If you're paying some sweat shop worker under the table or on the side to machine one and sneak one out...that's one thing. Even in volume pricing, however....that's a little steep... Regardless, this was a thread on if a crank is any good or not, not how much we pay for our shit.
  19. Word.... and I've used the Dynojet (toomey) needles, 4th clip from the top (they have 6 grooves) or stock needles in the middle groove (3rd)
  20. Thank you... If you want to run them for a while and in the back of the mind realize...sooner or later, you really should get aftermarket arms designed to handle more travel with better joints...fine. I just don't want everyone to run out thinking...hey, great cheap mod...then wonder why their ball joints are worn...or worse yet, broke while riding...
  21. I would like to know that as well.
  22. Cool...get to cutting your next set of pistons... Just trying to figure out why you asked the question when it seems you already had your mind made up??
  23. Ask your girl if I'm creamy or chewy....that should tell you.... :yelrotflmao:
  24. Probably better than consuming 800 little boys....
