Long travel and drag are ususally mutually exclusive. I want to see pics.
-
Like I said these were some of their first arms. Before the heims. They are all balljoints. They were purchased new by me, through a Yam dealer that a very close friend worked for. Fireball kicked him a good price, that's why I bought them. Haven't been happy with them completely ever.
-
Some of their first design of Banshee A arms. Welds look good, but they were a royal pain to mount, and they eat ball joint boots. I have been contemplating having them re PC'd and selling the arms/shocks, and upgrading.
-
No I have been to Baja plenty, but I did not hear about Cafro. Sucks. Still, that is the first Roll Product I have ever seen break. Not too shabby a record for a line that has been out as long as Roll has. What do you recommend?
-
I thought they looked like the work of Fireball. Hopefully their quality has gone up over the years. I have a set of some of their first design arms, and I can't wait to sell them. Really a poor design.
-
I've never seen anything Roll broken, and I have seen it abused beyond recognition. You pay for that though. If you want to stay cheaper, think about some other companies like, Hermann, Houser, or even Lonestar. I won't get into what I prefer, but they are cheaper than Roll.
-
Denton will sell you a rebuildable stabalizer, then never be able to get the rebuild kits. They have been doing that for years. GPR or Scotts, only way to go. Way more expensive, but better adjustablity, and way better feel.
-
They have a web site? I'd like to see pics.
-
Oh the comments that that left open... I extended the hoses on the carbs, and they will be problems if they get pinched at all. Try rerouting them so they do not get pinched.
-
Roll Design has a ex F1 engineer designing their parts. They are set up to be indestructable, and race tested. Very few other Banshee suspesnion setups get raced anymore. If you so desire, you can post suspension setups, and we can critrique them. Try to make it blind (no manufacturer visable). You would be surprised the poor designs you see on expensive stuff.
-
You want an honest and civilized answer? You come off as an asshole. You sound like you are trying to help, then make snide comments on the side. Then when confromted, you cower and want pity cause you were just trying to help. Can't speak for Brooke, or Walter, just what I have seen. You can choose to hate me, I don't care. Heck we often have the same take on a subject. I am just commenting on the way you voice your opinion.
-
Cause you sound like a bitch when you ask, that's why. Get over it, you got schooled. If you think that it's too much don't pay it. But don't think for a second that everyone uses the same materials, the same quality control, and the same designs. To a point, you get what you pay for, but after that, you pay a lot more for a little more performance. It's called diminishing returns. Be happy with what you got, any buy what you like.

There really is more than that to it. You need to take in account the steering stem placement, the pivot points of the steering stem, and the ball joint angles. There's quite a bit of work to do it right.

Here comes the clowns...

Problem with the YFZ swingarm isn't the swinger itself, but the angle of the rear shock. The shock is almost straight up on the YFZ, laid much more down on the Banshee.
-
Yes, unfortunately I do. Does anyone know if a YFZ frame would fit a Banshee motor? We can work out the details, but that is the best handling chassis out there right now. And it happens to be Yami I would like to also see if the swingarm and linkage from an 06 YFZ will bolt up to a Banshee. Imagine a alum swingarm and a round housing. Don't worry about strength, they hold up.
-
JJ, you can minimize the effect, but not totally remove it. But that is the key, minimization. Especially as you run more wheel travel, it becomes inevitable. I would rather not badmouth the suspension I have, just promote what is right. You would be surprised by the names of some companies that sell poor geometry, strength, and materials to people. Be informed, and ask questions. Sanddragon had nothing to hide, and responded as such.
-
Not at all. I asked you a few basic suspension geometry questions, and you answered them. Nothing in detail, but enough for me to get a feeling that you knew what you were looking for when you designed the arms. It's pretty easy to tell when someone has just copied what they saw on someone else's design, and have no clue what the design is for, and the effects on handling. Things like bump steer, ball joint angles, motion curves, and the like are not taken into account, and while it may seem better than stock, it won't handle like it should. I wish I knew all of this when I bought my suspension. I am just trying to save the next guy.
-
Now I know why some feel Meat is a whiney Bitch. I feel for you guy. Send me an invite to the pity party and I will come. But back to the subject at hand. There are very few Long Travel / Long Shock setups for the Banshee because the market is so small compared to the new four strokes. Most of these are by the smaller players in the industry. Many of the are fly by night companies, hence I am skeptical. Trust me, I am only trying to keep people from spending their hard earned money on crap. My a arms are crap. Better than stock, but nowhere near where they should be. When I can afford a change, it will be to Roll/Elka. Just my preference. It's easy to take a new suspension, ask a few questions, and find out if the manufacturer is trying to make a good setup, or just a few easy dollars. That's all I want to do.
-
Have you tried Roll Design?
-
You'll be fine here, just put the plastic back on your quad.
-
I think I've seen this quad before.

At least they are not trying to sell his bike. I have seen mine on Ebay twice. I didn't even know I was selling. -
Definately an old DR PDV bike. They used this setup to keep tems down in long high speed situations. Probably a little much for normal riding, but if you pushed it for a while, it would be worth it. You want to trade for a stock setup?
-
Does it have multiple springs? If so, then it is supposed to sit like that. It's a zero preload design. Sits ow so it corners well, but if you grab the rear grab bar and pick it up, you see the travel. It is designed to be that way. Do not screw with it. Try it, you will like it.

Don't open the lyric sheet then. He goes from annoying to fucktard.
