  1. Hello all... A friend just blew the gearbox on his shee (stripped a gear almost completely!) We were wondering if an RZ / RD ypvs gearbox will fit straight in? He bought one off ebay very very cheap...Just wanted to check that we don't need anything else to make it fit... thanks
  2. Sounds like the chain problem is the rubber engine mount bushes are worn...I had the same problem,I knew what it was right away cos it happened on my old rd350 too. There are 2 at the front 2 at the rear and tie rods under the engine. You will prob find that the rear bushes have gone, which lets the engine turn sideways under power and causes the chain to run off. I just finished changing mine yesterday, not a nice job,but makes it much better.
  3. I don't know why,I bought it like that,You can lock the front wheels with light pressure from one finger! they are a bit much really especially with the braided lines,I'm going to try the std master cylinder to see if it gives a bit more contol, I think once my friend rides it he will change his mind,I must be honest though I had a completely stock banshee before this and thought the brakes weren't really up to much,Just need to find the right balance.
  4. it has 2 calipers on each front wheel, and a different master cylinder(looks like a road bike one). The brakes are awesome!! My friend was wondering where he could get front hubs like it so he could have a twin caliper setup.Does anyone know of where they can be found? twin brake pic 1 pic 2 banshee
  5. Saw this on Ebay..Does anyone know if they are any good? ADJUSTABLE MAIN JET for 2 strokes, Mikuni, Keihin, 250r Ebay link
  6. I recently bought a 99 banshee in race spec, 28mm keihins(bored to 30mm),toomey T5's,durablue axle, aftermarket A-arms and swingarm(not sure what),Ohlins Shocks,Beadlocks, The reason I am posting,is that it has 2 calipers on each front wheel, and a different master cylinder(looks like a road bike one). The brakes are awesome!! My friend was wondering where he could get front hubs like it so he could have a twin caliper setup.Does anyone know of where they can be found? The other thing is the engine,He said its very highly tuned,It has LRD and a number (looks like a part number) engraved into the side of the barrel,It also has a Hinson clutch cover and an LRD Left hand engine casing/magneto cover/sprocket cover. Can anyone shed some light on this,as I can't find any info regarding LRD engine tuning anywhere on the net. I will post some pics asap. Many thanks
  7. Does anyone know if there is a 'race' wiring harness available for the banshee which doesn't have all the TORS and parking brake, brake lights, lights etc etc The TORS wiring and the Parking brake wiring seem to cause trouble even when disconnected.I would much rather have a basic harness and not have the breakdowns.. My friends nephews blaster was playing up,we thought it was TORS,but it turned out to be the wiring for the left switchgear had worn through and was shorting out everytime you hit the gas.. My freinds Banshee is playing up now..It wil idle, but nothing else.TORS has been removed(twist throttle kit,and unplugged),we have cleaned the carbs twice, new plugs..After searching through old posts,it seems like it could be the parking brake playing up.
  8. My mate had a problem with his throttle sticking last week. But it was only on full throttle,we changed the cabe and twist throttle but was still sticking wide open,We cleaned the slides as they were a bit rough and its a bit better. He has the tors removed and idle screws fitted.. Just wondering if anyone has tried fitting RD/RZ ypvs carbs,I believe they are the same size, but the have the idle screws as standard so if the problem is due to bad drilling/tapping it won't happen with these carbs... Also has anyone tried 28mm flatslide carbs from a tzr250 or KR1s ?
